I really dont know why no one is talking about NJ. I honestly think that there roster is better than Knicks. Amare Stoudemire or Brook Lopez? Brook. Any PG NY gets or Devin Harris? Harris. Why isnt Anyone talking about NJ? And, what can NY possibly offer other than playing in NYC

Btw, Boozer signs with Bulls . 5 yr, 80 mil. Dont know if anyone posted it.

The Nets won 12 games last season. They have no true #2 PG. Devin Harris was a alternate at a all star game. He was alright but he hasn’t played 70 games since leaving Dallas. Brook Lopez is a great offensive big man but TERRIBLE on defense. They won 12 games. Terrance Williams is a good 6th man but he’s more like LeBron in the fact he could do everything. They won 12 games. Courtney Lee is good not great. He also wanted a trade. They won 12 games. Derrick Favors is a project. They won 12 games.

There you go. Your going on a potential fit and The Nets would not be in place to win a title next season with Boozer off the table now. They would add LeBron and no big? They would lose to Orlando or Boston in the playoffs.

I’m not saying LeBron should join the Nets, but I’m sick of the Nets’ record being brought up. EVERYBODY knows that that team has better players than their record indicates. Brook Lopez, Devin Harris, Terrence Williams and Courtney Lee. Add Derrick Favors and Damion James into the mix. Plus they have plenty of cap space to add other pieces.

They went through some big roster changes, injuries and had a team full of young players. I think they’ll be a different team next season. There’s a different mentality now with a new owner and head coach. Avery Johnson is going to change the culture.

They were a 30 win team BEFORE INJURIES. When you have 6+ key guys hurt over the course of a season, that hurts. Anyway why does the old record matter, half that team is already gone, sure they are a little thin in some spots but it is better than the Knicks(who have two positions completely absent of starting talent). New York won’t get him and will be stuck in the 30 win purgatory(even in the east) becasue they dumped all their picks just to get the cap space to sign amare. They may get Melo after next year, but I we should wait to talk about that.

The point guard and center positions are arguably the most important positions in basketball and the Nets have two very good young players at both positions… While the Knicks aren’t even close.

The Knicks didnt win many games either. They had a rough season? NY is based on a potential team to. Is Amare good on offense? Sure, Can he be relied on to rebound? Hell no. Who do the Knicks have at PG? Who? Oh yeah Tony Douglas. Nuff said. Oh yeah dont forget about Gallanari. He can play the 4. Oh nevermind, He cant. He’ll get ‘bowed everytime hes in the post.

ny has one major thing, NEW YORK CITY…Lebron will make 240 MILLION $ if he is in New York from endorsements and what not, and NJ is a nothing compared to NYC!

Does anybody know how much LeBron makes from endorsements right now?

That’s a lot of money that he’d make in New York, but LeBron will be a marketing machine wherever he goes. Look at all this attention he’s getting right now… He clearly has the world’s attention.

I find it sooo funny how all NJ fans are in love with harris, HE WAS A RESERVE ALLSTAR! he cant even win mroe then 12 games, clearly the knicks have more to offer bc they won more games which means they are a better team and have the desire to win even if they dont have the talent other teams have..you might say its just liek Clevland but adding Amare, means we have alot of what Lebron wants!

You have to realize one thing New YOrk loses their do it all man David Lee.

He led thm in points, rebounds, and assists take Lee off that team, as well as Harrington their second leading scorer, and instant offense that team doesnt win 10 games.

I’m not a New Jersey fan, but you sound hypocritical. New York fans are in love with a backup point guard in Tony Douglass and Danilo Gallinari, who’s definitely overhyped by New York fans.

Devin Harris only played 64 games last season and he wasn’t healthy. The injuries are a problem, but not his talent. He averaged 21.3 points, 6.9 assists and 1.6 steals in 2008-2009.

Wait. Did u just say NY is better than NJ?
Harris was injured off and on last season. Sure, he was an all star reserve. But being an all star is being an allstar. But really? Amare? You mean the guy who gets 6 rebounds in the playoffs ? Have him. They payed A max for a guy like that.

I was wondering, if New York doesn’t get a guard by the time the season starts, how will Amare score? Will be bring the ball up himself and step into wing threes? It’ll be fun(painful) to watch.

I’m not a fan of either team and I find it funny how Nets and Knicks fans make crazy statements.

Like the one above… That Amare won’t be good without a great point guard. Douglass is good enough to get Amare the ball on the elbow (Amare’s sweet spot). Douglass is good enough to get Amare the ball off of a pick and roll. Amare is going to be fine. Let’s stop this non-sense.

butlerbuldogs, i will be the first to tell you that toney douglas is a BACKUP pg, the knicks need help but i believe Gallo has alot of potenital and hes a shooter that can surround lebron even if he never improves to his top potential, now about harris, HE IS NEVER HEALTHY, lebron is not about to take a risk with this big of a decision, harris goes down, its an ok team at best, i do think hes great but hes allways hurt and is a little overhyped…
ThankMeLater im about to ask u somehting and ull see where im going with this, would you give derrick rose a max contract?

The Knicks have MSG & the most famous Arena in the World. He would get more money in MSG stock + endursments THE NETS HAVE TO PLAY IN JERSEY FOR 3 MORE YEARS. Im tired of people taking about the Brooklyn nets, they are the new jersey nets for the next 3 years & he would be stuck playing in newark for 3 years, also there was for the longest time talk about a 30million dollar nike kicker for lebron to go to NYor LA.

You make being a reserve all-star sound like a negative. I don’t really know why, but last time I checked, making an all-star is a good achievement. If anything, by pointing out he was a reserve all-star just puts an even more intense light on how weak your PG’s are. I’ll take Devin Harris over Toney Douglas anyday (even though I like Douglas). Also, who’s gonna play center for you guys? If Lebron does come, which he might, you’re starting line is gonna have to be:

    1 – Douglas
    2 – Chandler?
    3 – Lebron
    4 – Gallinari
    5 -Amare

Both Chandler and Gallinari are better suited SF’s anyways, but they can do decent at the 2 and 4 either way. The real problem is playing Amare at the 5. I dunno if I can trust him at the 5. He’s gonna have problem guarding some of the premier front-courts in the NBA.

I’d rather have the starting line of:

    1 – Harris
    2 – Terrence Williams
    3 – Lebron
    4 – Favors
    5 – Lopez

And NJ will even have a better bench to boot with guys like Courtney Lee and Damion James coming off the bench. And as for back-up PG, I think Keyon Dooling can be a serviceable back-up for now, at least better than what NYK have at back up point.

Seriously sign Lee for 12-15 mil (how much better is Amare than Lee) Lee almost singlehandedly led New York to 29 wins last year, New Jersey has a good bench i mean they Have Favors who i think is a perfect fit manning a backup 4-5 spot great defensibly, and rebobounding he could be a great 12 9 1.5 guy in 25 minutes off the bench, Lopez, and Lee compliment each other well Lopez gives them good d, and a good post game, Lee gives them a more all around game, better outside player.

They have a good shooter defender in Lee who would start next to Lebron and fit good, Harris gives them slashing and defense, hes a pretty good passer too, Williams man the backup 1-3 hes just so versatile hes basically a big point guard, but can play three positions, Also Damion James closes out their eight man rotation as a good hustle player who can defend, and rebound, what team can boast a 8 man rotation like that?

Also the shooting is overrated Cleveland boasted some very good shooter but they dissapeared in the playoffs, New York is trying to sell their shooters but how do they wont do the same? they have no winning experience, (ill admit Harris is the only guy on the Nets with finals experience) you need playmakers when Lebron is having a bad game, and Jersey can offer that.

Nowhere in my statement did I bring up nash, I am just saying that at the guard positions, they have many holes still left to fill, which is not a problem in new jersey. Which is part of the reason lebron should go to New Jersey.

I think both teams would be a a good landing spot for LeBron.

The Nets have very nice talent already under contract plus the cap room to add other free-agents. Lopez is a very good young center. Harris is talented, but he is injured a lot which should definitely factor in. Favors is young, but has a very high upside. I’m not for sure, but I think they own all of their future picks. Good looking future with the new owner, head coach, etc. LeBron could lead that team and turn the franchise around.

The Knicks don’t have as much talent under contract, BUT they have solid pieces. Douglass is a solid backup and will get better. Gallinari would thrive with LeBron in the drive and kick. Chandler is a great athlete that’ll be able to run and finish with LeBron. Stoudemire isn’t a great rebounder or defender, but you can’t name too many power forwards that can score and attack the rim like he can.

The Knicks aren’t the Cavs. They do have some cap flexibility. They have Eddy Curry’s expiring contract that should be able to get them back something. The endorsement factor is huge too.

I think LeBron can make either situation work.

I dunno man, NY has talent, but all at the same position. Their 3’s are really strong, but they need spred out their talent. Maybe they need to trade Chandler. It could work then. They need to trade Chandler for a PG, and bring in a legit C.

The thing is, if your talking about having players that play well with Lebron, you can’t really say Harris has a big advantage. He’s a ball dominant player that excels coming off picks and having the ball in the open court. Thats exactly what Lebron does. He’s a SF, but he’s as ball dominant a player as the NBA has now. Harris is a streaky at best three point shooter. As a matter of fact, Lebron James would instantly be the best three point shooter on the team he signs with. Yes he would have a great center, but the rest of his team is fairly small besides a raw 18 year old.

The Knicks can surround him with players that compliment him very well. Douglas is very good coming of screen and catch and shooting. Gallinari is one of the best three point shooters in the league whether you want to admit it our not, with an extremely high basketball IQ, and is still only 21, 22 at the start of next year. And Amare is a great catch and finish player. It would lebron to play the style he obviously prefers, initiate the offense, swing it to open options when the defense collapses, and attack the weak spot in the defense when they shift back. From a tactical stand point, it would allow Lebron to have a consistant outlet in the post area and on the perimeter. If the Knicks can sign Lebron, use their MLE on Haywood, or trade the suddenly expendable Chandler for post help, they would be gravy.

i agree with the too many SF if they get lebron and i want the knicks to trade chandler, curry and lee (sign and trade) and picks for Monta Ellis and maybe biendrens? the beindrens thing isnt needed btu it helps, i think ellis is perfect for the knicks and dantonis system! then you sign Miek miler so ur lineup is
    Ellis
    Miler
    Lebron
    Amare
    Biendres
    Bench: Galo and Douglas
I dont know who else they woudl get to fill out there bench but thats an aamazing 7 man rotation!

    @Mkadoza

The Knicks can’t use the MLE since they didn’t enter this summer’s free-agency period over the cap.

I’m not buying that about Harris either. LeBron is considering playing with Rose and Wade, both ball dominant guards who can’t make three-pointers consistently. He even said he’d love to play with Chris Paul, who’s also a ball dominant guard. I think LeBron is more than willing to play more off of the ball.

Harris did play in Dallas with Dirk Nowitzki. Dirk is a different player than LeBron, but my point is… Harris knows how to play off of a superstar. I don’t think it’ll be a problem.

The people at the top, why are you saying Harris is a reserve All-Star like it’s a bad thing? Last I checked, Amare was a reserve too. And only 12 guys make the team so that must mean he’s pretty good
