Who is your favorite role player? I’d have to say mine is Matt Barnes.

Very tough defender, has a great shot, just a gritty player. He is the first that comes to mind, even though I think his time in Cleveland has come to an end, he is just a great role player. I know he has had emotional problems, but he is just a great role guy in my opinion.

Jason Maxiell back when the pistons were good he would come in with a big block or dunk and he super short so it looks cool

To the peopels who posted here: what is the definition of a role player? because for me a player that gets more than 30 minutes per game isn’t a role player. here, look at the minutes of some of the players that you mentiond –
Josh Smith: season: 35.4 playoffs: 35.6
Joakim Noah: season: 30.1 playoffs: 37.6
Ron Artest: season: 33.8 playoffs: 36.5
Lamar Odom: season: 31.5 playoffs: 29

My favourite role players are Kris Humphries and Ryan Hollins.

got to love a 6′ 6″ starting C who can rebound with anyone and throws some of the most beautiful outlets in the league.

How is dude a role player….. he was screwed out of being an all star this year. He should have been an all star, but Johnson and Horford got the nod.

Saying Josh Smith is a role player is like saying Gerald Wallace is a role player.

On a championship caliber team, Gerald Wallace would be a role player in my opinion. Similar to AK47 when he was an All-Star.

Scalabrine! haha! Just kidding. I like Birdman, Milsap, and I think DeJuan Blair will be up there soon too. I like role players who bring grit into the game and aren’t afraid to knock some heads. Reminds me of the old school game I grew up with!

    Mr. Thabo Sefolosha.

One of the best perimeter defenders in the entire league, and has the wingspan to defend inside as well. Grabs boards at a good rate, gets steals and blocks, and guards the opposing team’s #1 offensive player night in and night out.

Lamar Odom he is one of the reasons we won the this year he dont play every night but he can do everything.
J.R. Smith is good but he sometimes get to trigger happy and shoot from anywhere on the court.

Nick Young. I just wished that he could do more than score; he’d get more playing time.

For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of seeing Chuck Hayes make free throws with his eyes closed after four shots of Everclear:

    First place!

    ROFLMFAO!!!!

That is pathetic. In general, I don’t understand how a NBA player could be a bad free throw shooter. I mean they’re getting paid millions and can’t make free throws..

Not being able to make free throws consistently as a NBA player is like not knowing how to do calculus as a chemical engineer..
