“Clippers summer league roster, in part: Al-Farouq Aminu, Eric Bledsoe, Willie Warren, DeAndre Jordan, Greek forward Sofoklis Schortsanitis.”

He’s finally coming over from Greece to play on the Clippers summer league team and is expected to sign with the Clippers soon. He has been a subject of debate previously on this site and I’m excited to see what he can do now that he is in shape as I’m sure some of you are as well. He is a Glen “Big Baby” Davis type of player, except that he is 6’10. He had weight issues for a while and as a result has not come to the NBA until now although he was drafted in 2003. I believe he could be a very good bench player if he stays in shape. He only just turned 25 and has some good potential as long as he can stay in NBA shape. He actually is already practicing with the Clippers and he apparently has been very impressive. Here is a video of him that includes many things including his performances against the US national team, the Cavs, and the Spurs, along with other highlights:

    What do you think?

His physicality alone should land him a 3rd string position in the NBA.

The only thing that can keep him from dominating this summer league is his stamina

I’ll give him one “feeling out” game before I start my critique and analysis on his projection at the NBA level. I’m hoping he’ll do well. Craig Smith was pretty good for us last season coming off the bench and hopefully Sofo can make a bigger impact.
