Tim49461ParticipantI know it is the first half and it is the summer league but this kid is showing he can play point. Shooting it real nice getting to the rim with ease, and no one can stay in front of him because of his handle. This kid is going to Gilbert Arenas 2.0.
Think of Indiana line up next year, Lance will be starting mid season if he keeps up this play.
PG. Lance Stephenson
SG. Paul George
Sf. Danny Granger
Pf. Troy Murphy
C Roy HibbertThat is a Tall, and lengthy team. Bird just had a amazing draft.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantGilbert Arenas 2.0? Wow. I like his game a lot, but he plays nothing like Gilbert.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 10:39am #346936

JNixonParticipantHe’s showing why I wanted him to go to the Hawks, why I said he could’ve been a lotto pick and could’ve led Cincy to a nice tourny run if he would’ve been allowed to play a Tyreke Evans-esque role, and he’s showing that he can be a potential 1st option scorer in the NBA.
With that said, he’s not the shooter Arenas is. I don’t really care for that comparison much.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantLance Stephenson = Paul Pierce?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 10:45am #346941
Tim49461ParticipantMaybe not the shooter but lance is far beyond in his midrange game then Gilbert was and his handle. I’m saying he is like Gilbert in the sense he would be a score first point guard.

cuseflynn10ParticipantThis one will haunt New Jersey for years to come if Lance turns out to be the player he can be. Lance Stephenson was Brooklyn basketball at the High School and College levels. Lance could contribute for his home team Brooklyn Nets It’s a shame because I really like his game and potential plus he could step in and possibly start for the Nets. They’d have Harris-Stephenson-D.James-Favors-Lopez. I mocked Stephenson at #27 but he was even available at #31. Tibor Pleiss doesn’t fill a need at this moment, unlike Stephenson could have. The Pacers lucked out at #40.

Bryant24Participantwhere do i go to watch?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:02am #346950
bkb77ParticipantGod I hate the knicks they never can get a pick right, they could of had him & Ebanks in the 2nd round.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:03am #346951
BlackMamba24ParticipantHe still doesnt understand how to play..He thinks the NBA is the streets of NYC. He thinks he is better than he actually is
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:06am #346953

JoeWolf1I don’t think George is going to beat out Rush for starting sg, his perimeter defense and improved offense has him not even playing in the summer league after only 2 seasons.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:07am #346954

IndianaBasketballParticipantLol he needs some work. His game has a little too much flash and he needs to pass more, BUT you can’t deny the package he has.
As a Pacers follower, I like what I’m seeing. We need a player like him. We have too many pretty boys on our squad. Stephenson is a dog…
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:13am #346958

sheltwon3ParticipantLooks like Indiana made some great picks and they actually took chance and made picks that they don’t normally make and are having some success. I knew Lance Stephenson was a first round talent though and people are going to feel really dumb for letting him slip so far. I had him going to atlanta. I did not know he could play point like he is though.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:26am #346963

delfamParticipantNice couple plays by Lance in the last couple minutes, I sick pass to Rolle and a sick cross-over for a dunk.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:27am #346964
kaceyParticipantThat move was so dirty that everyone just went to a dead silence. (I’m sure it was just audio technical difficulties)
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:31am #346967

Tobe BryantParticipantDid y’all just see that bounce pass?
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:35am #346969

IndianaBasketballParticipantI didn’t know Stephenson had this type of ability.
I know it’s only summer league, but wow… Even my fiancee asked how he fell into the second round.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 11:42am #346973

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantGilbert Arenas 2.0? Seriously? It’s his debut — in summer league. Can we cool it with the outlandish comparisons until January, at the earliest?
He’s really playing well. That pass to Rolle for a dunk was absolutely filthy. I hope that he can consistently perform at this level for the rest of the summer league, and that his style of play doesn’t turn into a low field goal percentage and a high amount of turnovers once the regular season starts.

topscoutParticipantWhen lance 1st started high school he was projected as a pg..he became such a strong scorer n due to the fact that some of his teammates wasn’t up to his level he started passin less..he’s an all-around tough player 1 of the reasons 1 wished the knicks would have picked. Him when he slipped..Lance is goin 2 prove all of his haters n the teams that passed up on him wrong
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 12:03pm #346989

adamsc14ParticipantNot Gilbert Arenas he is 6 ft 5 with handles and people say he does not have explosive athleticism. He’s closer to Tyreke Evans.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 12:23pm #347004
stanford hoopsI like lance but som of y’all need to calm down. It’s summer leauge. Not even close to the NBA talent. Every year peope take a players play a tad too far. Last year it was a.Randolph, d.Jordan. Not long ago it was r. Foyle, Nick young. I still think lance will be good but let’s not go overboard
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 1:39pm #347033

sheltwon3ParticipantI dont think people are overblowing it but still if a guy can display his skills with his size, there shouldnt be that hard of a turnover to the regular season but there is probably not much defense and it is different than regular season but you are talking bout a second rounder who could wind up outplaying most of the 1st rounders taken. I though he would be like Tyreke and most people thought so yet they let him slip.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 1:45pm #347038
stanford hoopsWhen you’re comparing a guy to agent zero after a summer leauge game then that’s over blowing. Can we compare harangody and Henderson and brown to some NBA stars as well since they both played very well in there first summer leauge game as well. Lance should be a good 6th,7th man this year.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 1:52pm #347046

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantjust to let you all know agent zero isn’t his nickname anymore since he is changing his number. Stephenson played very well today but he had a pretty good match up. Randle is too small to guard him.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 1:52pm #347047
stanford hoopsI expect him to start by years end though once he learns the INS and outs of the NBA
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 1:57pm #347055

YSUFan10ParticipantIm not trying to root for my faves, since Lance came from Cincinnati, which is my 2nd fave college, but he played a phenominal game. He dished out a couple of sensational passes, not to mention he created lots of opportunities for himself and his teammates with his playground style handle. He could for sure prove to be the biggest steal of this draft.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 1:58pm #347057

sheltwon3ParticipantI think the guy that compared him to agent zero may have just been really excited and I can understand that. Also at 6’5″ with his size Stephenson will be bigger and stronger than most point guards. I think it may be until the end of this coming season before he is starting though. He will have to be solid on the pick and roll and learn to be a better play maker and get adjusted to the speed of the game.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 2:00pm #347060
stanford hoopsI agree. With him possible be the biggest steal of the draft because of where he was drafted
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 2:03pm #347064

IndianaBasketballParticipantI want make any pre-mature statements about him, but he had an impressive summer league debut.
I don’t really pay attention to numbers during summer league. I liked his body language and the way he competed. He didn’t seem in awe by the moment. He played hard and tried to make the right plays. I love the fact he’s not afraid of contact.
He’ll need to get better at making the pass (he should be able to… showed great court vision), not being so flashy and playing off of the ball… But he has game.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 2:07pm #347069

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantIts too bad Indiana isn’t facing the Sixers. I would like to see Holiday, Turner vs. Stephenson. That be a challenge for him.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 2:17pm #347078
stanford hoopsI figured he wouldn’t be in awe of the NBA summer leauge since he’s used to playing against top talent since a young age and the big stage that the rucker brings. I thnk he’s the type to play hard most of the time but the true test will be how he reacts when frustrated while having a off game.even a couple silks will prob get talked about more then it should
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 5:48pm #347202
topscoutParticipantHe killed dru holiday in. The elite24 turner could be a challenge thou
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 6:56pm #347249
scoutguruParticipantHe looked impressive. But we all knew he had talent as others have said. But look who was guarding him, a 5’9 Jerome Randle most of the time, and Curtis Stinson, who’s not a world beater defender. Nonetheless, he had a good showing, hopefully this gets his confidence up and he continues to gain seasoning.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 7:17pm #347256

Tobe BryantParticipantStephenson vs. Terrence Williams is a pretty even matchup. Cant wait til tomorrow
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 7:25pm #347259

sc0rebuckets11Participantis a monster.
0 - Posted on: Mon, 07/05/2010 - 7:27pm #347260

Demarcus OnealParticipantI think that Stephenson was very impressive in his debut and that should be no suprise he has also been a first round talent however comparing him to gilbert arenas after one summer league game while being defended by a 5-9 point guard is ridiculous I belive Stephenson plays more like Tyreke Evans also Terrence Williams i belive plays kinda of like Penny Hardaway and also did anyone else notice how bad Orton was in the game with the ejection to top it
