6’5” 200 PG Comparisons Steve Francis(Athleticism)/John Gilchrist(Playmaking Skills)
He has excellent ballhandling skills for a tall PG, he is a great penetrator who has a quick first step with the blow by ability to get to the rack & also the 38 inch vert to get up. He has playground passing skills for his style of play. For him to be a 1st rd pick he has been to three different teams, and yet has showcased his ability to be a factor on each squad.Does anyone think that he will get a contract this off-season to be someones backup? I know he has hurt his image a lot with the Arenas gun incident, but coming out of Georgia Tech I thought he was going to be something special depending on which team he landed on.

I think he should get another chance. He’s only 22-23 and could at least become a combo guard defender with some time.

torontoraptors10ParticipantI don’t know about him having a bench role…. The Lakers do need a PG and under Derek Fisher (if he is resigned) he can learn a lot and actually have a great role with the Lakers. Unlike, Morrison who was behind Odom, Ariza for some time, Artest so playing time was hard for him to find. Crittenton can get playing time and playing under Phil Jackson, his potential can be found.

JNixonParticipantI think he’ll have to fight with Shannon Brown for the spot now that they’ve signed Blake, so I wouldn’t be surprised if he was cut or if he made it. He’s basically what Shannon Brown is, except a better passer and ball-handler. But he’s still a little too rough around the edges, so he’ll obviously have something to prove

scoutguruParticipantCame out school prematurely (then again who doesn’t these days). Really needed to hone a lot of his raw ability to reach his potential on the collegiate level. He was ok in his lone year at GT, but really looked like an outta control Freshman at times who really just needed more experience learning to be a steady player, instead of just trying to make the flashy play all the time. He’ll definitely still get looks, but there’s definitely way better options out there in terms of backup PG’s.

sheltwon3Participanti think he deserves a chance and it would be good for him to go to Lakers and learn the game even if he does not play. He has shown his rookie year that he is familiar with the triangle and he can play in spot minutes. Lakers do not have any young talent at the point guard position because both Blake and Fisher are old guys.

Lotto StudParticipantIs he officially wrote off as making a NBA comeback? If so it’s a damn shame for a guy I had high expectations for as becoming a legit PG in the NBA. If I want to see Crit ball I gotta dig in my archives of Mickey D tapes just to see him get it in SMH. I guess he fell victim to the "blackball" if he never gets back.

iguapops420ParticipantHe’ll get a chance. He could have been special. LAL tried to push Farmar on Memphis instead but they wanted Critt. He’s still got potential and may still make it. But more than likely we’ll have to think what could have been.

Tobe BryantParticipantSuch a bad deal! I was uber exciting when the Lakers drafted him. I was like, finally an athletic PG the we can develope to slow down these new breeds, but then they traded him instead of Farmar. Notice during that time how Jordan was playing out of his mind, but as soon as they traded Crit, he began slumping. I guess he knew he was in a PG battle with a kid oozing with talent. Will he live up to his talents, I think so…this kid is only 22 and the ability is there. He put up great numbers in the NBDL, which showed that he shouldn’t be there. He can definitely help a team, especially the Lakers, as mentioned above, he is no worse than Shannon Brown, a little less athletic, but better at every intangible than Shannon. I hope LA gives him a 3rd chance.

Lotto StudParticipantI was not excited about LA taking him at all! First thing came to my mind was how many years will he be hid in street clothes. I think he is done for. Just being apart of that whole Gilbert ordeal f*cked him. It would be understandable if he was a star, because he would still be in the league, but he did not even get a chance to make a name for himself.
