knicks82ParticipantSupposedly the Knicks and Amare are close to signing. Crunching the numbers. I got this from Tommy Dee Knicks blog. He says hes trying to confirm these reports rite now.
Tommy Dee is the Knicks reporter for SNY, and also does some reporting on The Daily Line on Versus.0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/01/2010 - 5:58pm #345299

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantNo Nash…No Lebron…No Playoffs…Will this move make Amare the New Elton Brand…???
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/01/2010 - 6:06pm #345311

JJeff6ParticipantNo it wont. Amare thrives in the fast break offense. If he gets his touches and stays healthy, he will be a 25 ppg and 9 rpg. wherever stat goes he still my favorite player.

knicks82ParticipantIf these reports are true..I just pray the guy can stay healthy, cause when hes healthy hes a beast.

llperezif true, then things are looking up for the knicks. But now who else?

NarcParticipantHe’ll work hard for his former coach…its no secret how well those two got along in Phoenix…plus like mentioned earlier Stoudemire is at his best in the fast break offense. Now let’s see whom else the Knicks would sign if this is in fact confirmed.

knicks82ParticipantIm thinkin the Knicks wanted to get this done now instead of waiting. Cause earlier reports were that they would meet with Amare on Monday..which is the day that Lebron supposedly is gonna make his decision. And I think the Knicks know that if they dont have a max guy on there team by then that there chances at Lebron would be shot.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantif this is true I think they should go after Felton as the point guard unless you think Douglas can handle the starting role.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI’ll take it! lol.
I like Stats but he’s not gonna be the end all I hope. NY needs to add a player next to him.
Adding Stoudemire is huge because now LBJ should be looking at NY even more.

llperezman, frye just got 30 mill too? I actually dont think thats too bad, but just so one dimensional. He needs to really focus on his defense and rebounding to help the suns. He tried hard in the playoffs last year, but now he has to rbing it for a whole season.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/01/2010 - 6:38pm #345340

JJeff6ParticipantI like frye, at least it gives them an option if stat leaves which it appears he is :(. Maybe he’ll work on his inside game and possibly get 15-20 points night with maybe 7-9 rebounds. Hes not amare but there are worse options out there.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThe Suns added 2 post players in the draft with Lawal and Collins so they have the grity players. Maybe Earl Clark could make strides to be a combo forward to help behind Frye.
They also have Jason Richardson’s exp contract. If they need a Big and Barbosa is good to go, They could flip that.

doubledribblerParticipantSo Frye will be getting paid less than Drew Gooden next season?!?! Interesting.

BiggysmallsParticipantIf Stoudemire goes to the Knicks, he will be a far less effective player. Thats not to say that he wont be productive. He’ll still be a 20 to 25 ppg type of guy, but I guarentee he wont have the FG % that he had in Phoenix. Stoudemire will have to create his own offense for himself, and to be frank, he just aint that good at manufacturing his own offense.
He’s not worth a max contract, but the Knicks are desperate, and they’ve put all of their eggs into this one basket, so whoever is left on the market, the Knicks will offer a ton of money too.

butidonthavemoneyBiggy summed it up pretty perfectly.

NYK2010ParticipantI could see this coming but realgm has reported about an hour ago that NY hasn’t made an offer to Amare.
Suns won’t max him but that doesn’t mean they won’t offer 5 yrs/100 mill or 6/110 which would be more than any team can offer. I had a feeling this was coming esp. since he knows the system and Lee is getting offers from other teams.
Boozer probably doesn’t fit the Knicks system so that leaves Dirk, Bosh and Amare.
Dirk will probably resign with Dallas, not sure who else is out there.
Knicks blew shot at rebuilding so they will definately offer some big money to free agents.
Amare definately has the talent but the lack of rebounding and defense really hurt him.
Knicks could do a lot better but a lot worse too.0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/01/2010 - 8:57pm #345396
NYK2010ParticipantHe will do a lot better as a PF than Center thats for sure.
David Lee for Al Jefferson rumors that would be interesting Knicks would have a couple of shot blockers on the team.
Of course that would be if Lebron turned them down guess we’ll find out in a couple of days.0 - Posted on: Thu, 07/01/2010 - 10:57pm #345407

NYCrealdealParticipantin the seccond half of last year play like that all year mvp dark horse in mike D system if we dont get lebron just please wait for melo next year and this year sign a promising young point if we make playoffs ill be happy

PlatypusParticipantDoes Channing Frye become the starting powerforward? at best he could be a poor mans Rasheed Wallace and thats at best.
Nash – Dragic
Richardson – Barbosa
Hill – Earl Clark
Frye – Gani Lawal
Lopez – Collinshopefully Lopez can start scoring down low because he’s the only option right now
