OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThe biggest free-agency class in NBA — and possibly sports — history is only a few days away. Many marquee players, such as Dwyane Wade, LeBron James, Chris Bosh, Amare Stoudemire and others could change teams this summer. It has created a ton of buzz for quite some time, and it overshadowed many other relevant basketball events, such as the NBA Finals and the NBA Draft.
Now that we have the lame, unnecessary intro out of the way, I would like to throw my sales pitch at all of you reading this: let’s make this the one and only free agency thread. It would be much more convenient than making 9,000 different threads about what Chris Bosh’s girlfriend’s sister’s baby’s father’s cousin said about the (insert team name here). Plus, wouldn’t it be more of a surprise to click on this thread, possibly not knowing what the latest news/idea is, instead of clicking on a thread where the news/idea is in the title?
I want you to strongly consider this offer. I’m gonna go for a run, then I’m gonna eat some pizza (even though I’m trying to lose weight), because I’m dumb like that. Bye.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThank you. People actually read my threads. Lol

sheltwon3ParticipantThis free agency is probably the best and you will have a lot of guys who are talented get signed at bargain prices.

mgreener_34ParticipantAm I the only one who has a problem with this if it really happens? Two big name free agents going to a team that already has decent pieces that is. Take the new rumor with Chi Town for example. Chris Bosh and LeBron teaming up with Noah and Rose seems to take the competitiveness right out of the sport. Just like the Yankees who make sure they always get the best players; By signing Bosh and LeBron the Bulls would almost be monopolizing the sport. Idk that just doesn’t seem to fun to me, even more so because my teams are in the East. I know it would be fun to watch, but what’s the point when you already know the out come? There would be zero competitiveness if this stuff happens.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantAs a Knicks fan, I’m upset but already seen this coming. I think Both will end up withing Chicago by Friday.
Now as a Knicks fan, we must use the things we have. If I’m Donnie Walsh, I would
– Trade Wilson Chandler and Eddy Curry for Gilbert Arenas
– Sign Joe Johnson to a less then max contract ( 5 years, 85 mil)
– Sign Brendan Haywood, Channing Fyre, Steve Blake and Hakeem Warrick
Arenas- Johnson- Gallo- Fyre- Haywood
Warrick- Douglas- Walker- Jordan

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantArenas for Chandler and Curry won’t work. Throw in some future 1st round draft picks. You have to remember, Arenas is still an all-star guard and one of the best scoring point guards in the L.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantYou have to remember
Washington wants to build around Wall. Arenas is a black hole on offense and could hinder Wall’s progress. I’m pretty sure if NY offered this deal, Washington would take it because your relief yourself of a monster contract, add a nice piece in Chandler and almost locks you a spot in the 2011 top 5 for the Draft.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThey can do better and their not going to settle for that. Chandler is never going to be more than a 4th option on a championship team and a 3rd option on a decent playoff team. They can get a Tyrus Thomas and Tyson Chandler trade for Gilbert because when Felton leaves, Bobcats need a PG and they need some scoring. Tyson Chandlers monster contracts ends and Thomas can be a nice addition as a shot blocker and defender off the bench.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThey can get a Tyrus Thomas and Tyson Chandler trade for Gilbert.
I don’t think so. Gilbert’s value due to his contract and suspension ( and the fact he played like 35 games the past 3 seasons) is low. He still is a great player but I don’t think he’s worth much.
The Wizards offered Gilbert Arenas for Vince Carter this past week. Magic GM Otis Smith laughed at that offer. When a GM laughs at a offer and rather keep VC who choked this past offseason? Your value is SHOT.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantHe declined because of the fact that they already have a PG in Jameer.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantIf that’s what you wanna believe. He did decline the deal but not after laughing due to the fact Gil is a untouchable contract.
LOL… Jameer Nelson. That’s funny.
