d-ravParticipantLarry Bird has stressed he wanted to win now. Along with that statement, he also pointed his interests in acquiring a point guard (even willing to offer the Pacers 10th pick then). The Wizards on the other end, after having drafted Wall, are willing to part with Arenas. Given the Wizards situation, should Bird consider taking a gamble with Arenas? One way he could settle this, may be offloading their Golden State Warrior duo (T-Murph and Dun jr.) for Arenas. Murph and Dun would provide consistent output on the ofeensive end, as well as veteran leadership to help ease Wall’s transition, while Arenas will solve Bird’s search for a big-time pointguard. Then again, this is a long shot, and ultimately, Bird may opt for a safer scenario and instead sign Jordan Farmar to be their starting point guard. Still, it won’t hurt for Bird to take a look at this scenario.

sheltwon3ParticipantI could see Indiana make a move for Hinrich but not Arenas

SwatLakeCityParticipantI think Heinrich or Farmar is more plausible. Arenas has a huge contract. I know that Murphy and Dunleavy do too, but would that duo be enough to match the contract of Arenas. It will be tough for the Wizards to trade Arenas. I think a 3 team deal would be the only way Arenas leaves the Wizards. Besides, I don’t think Bird and the Pacers would be willing to deal with Arenas and his baggage that he brings along with him.

PlatypusParticipantArenas and Stephenson together could mean trouble even if they are in Indiana

sayounhParticipantI think Larry Bird is smart enough to figure out that the Pacers need a pass-first PG. He took a risk and brought in T.J. Ford a couple of years back but that didn’t quite pan out. Arenas is the epitome of a scoring combo guard and the Pacers don’t need one especially if Paul George will be joining Granger in the starting lineup. There’s also the huge contract and the fact that Arenas has never been quite the same after being out for nearly a season with injuries.
I’d personally like to see the Pacers wait for the next offseason or go for a more low-profile PG like Jose Calderon, Steve Blake, Luke Ridnour, Eric Maynor

goodsontheParticipantArenas has no “baggage”!! This was one incident, that was just stupid… Carmelo had an incident with a gun or something like that years ago and NO ONE remembers it or holds it against him. This was ONE thing, idk why people are making Arenas out to be like NBA’s version of Pacman. Smh, I HOPE Indiana or some team get Arenas for a bag of Doritos so he can make them look like idiots.

the I in winParticipant@goodsonthe, Arenas is was always goffing around and getting n minor trouble. Nothing to huge except the gun thing but I’m sure it was annoying to deal with him.
Also was Carmelo pointing the gun at his teammates?

WizardofOzParticipantEverybody thinks Gilbert is a bad person. Gilbert is a good person at heart. I do think that he was a bad leader and teammate by bringing guns into the arena. But he just made a bad decision. I do think he will behave well from now on though because he realizes that this could be his make or break year. I do want the Wizards to trade Arenas, but not because he is a troublemaker, but because of his bad contract, and if the Wizards can’t trade him away, then just keep him and play him with John Wall. I do think Gilbert is a better fit with John Wall then most people think.

Mr. 19134ParticipantIf you’re talking about trading for Arenas you might as well talk about signing Iverson in the same breathe who atleast will get his teamates involves more because believe it or not A.I. averaged over 7 assists for his career. And Arenas has no documented history of being in trouble besides the Gun incident which was so stupid. Arenas is a weird dude whose sense of reality isnt necessarily our sense of reality. I mean his nickname is Agent 0 so why wouldn’t he have a gun and all sorts of other cool gadgets?

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantThe Pacers don’t like taking bad characters guys ( They liked Cousins but couldn’t move up to take him because of the Ron Artest problem in 05)
There are not taking Arenas.
