I’ve been informed by more then one trustworthy source that LeBron James was indeed pulling strings on Thursday night. Donnie Walsh is going all out in his pitch for LeBron even letting him go as far as pick the Knicks player’s in last nights draft. James handpicked Rautins after watching Syracuse play all year. James originally like Wes Johnson and watched Syracuse games because Johnson reminds him alot of Scottie Pippen. But it was Rautins James fell in love with because of all his clutch 3 point shooting. Once James saw Rautins still on the board he jumped at the chance to get his clutch 3 point shooter. Although James never saw Landry Fields play he did enjoy reading his ongoing blog at http://www.draftexpress.com/blog/Landry-Fields/.

Said an ecstatic James during our confidential interview after the draft. “I mean I’m happy anyday you can get yourself a shooter of Andy’s calibur and a blogger of Fields’; you have something special.”

Oh that’s cool I’m getting hated on by a smoked out Canadian who had the TWolves drafting Avery Bradley over Henry like they don’t have enough point guards who don’t make their team better or Wing Depth isn’t their weakness and Henry wouldn’t be a steal at 16. Truth is of course its a parody in the same breathe of that corny mock draft you guys did that was suppose to be funny. And can anybody give me a better excuse as to what Donnie Walsh was thinking.

LBJ picking for a Team that he’s not signing With…Yeah…and Next the Sixers are letting me Trade Iguadola to the Nuggets for JR Smith and Birdman and their 1st round pick next year…oh yeah…I forgot…I’m just a regular guy from Philly and I don’t work in the front office…Seriously If the Knicks DID let LBJ pick em…and he doesn’t sign there…can they get him banned from the League for sabotage….??? Answer that ???? stuff like that is highly illegal and they (Knicks and LBJ would be on the hot seat)

Cleveland better get on the Hating front and start Blocking LBJ from signing anywhere…I’d get his ass Banned from the League if that was half way true…They can claim he tampered with their teams by stringing them along….

Haha you would believe me…It’s sad that it’s not even that far fetched.

People need to lighten up and understand that you enjoy basketball because it’s so entertaining, so why can’t our discussions about basketball be entertaining? Although my post is fictional it serve’s as a parable as to what is really going on. Look at the Bulls just gave away Kirk Hinrich and the 17th pick for nothing. They gave it away for a shot at luring LeBron and another Free Agent to Chicago. Although it cleared up more cap space, on paper just giving away the 17th pick and Hinrich is crazy. Hinrich although overpaid is a very serviceable and versatile guard who does something that is very valuable, play lock down defense. With the 17th pick the Bulls missed the opportunity to draft another guard like that in Avery Bradley who alongside Rose would play terrific defense and be a nightmare to guard if the Bulls decided to push the tempo. James Anderson would of been a nice fit in Chicago too. But instead they gave that chance away for the chance of getting something more special. Miami gave their pick away too. LeBron’s hand is definitely all over this draft.

of Course its all bullshit but not very far fetched. During the draft they interviewed Mike D’Antoni and he said that the Knicks have had July 1, 2010 circled on their calender for a few years. Most likely they had it circled since they signed D’Antoni. Does anybody else find that statement to be a spit in the face? It’s like they knew they wouldn’t win anything these last few years and didn’t even try. They/’re plan all along was just to wait for other teams players to come off contract. Does anybody else find that wrong, like instead of trying to develop players and a winning culture withing your organization, you just sit back and wait for another teams player to become a free agent. And their Knicks arent shy about their plan. It’s almost like tampering because you know that everytime a free agent from this class came to New York everybody was trying to talk them into signing with their team meanwhile they’re still playing for their current team.

They took a “King” sized crap in the mouths of their fans….and ask them to grin and bare it…now you know the meaning of the shit eating grin…knicks fans giving that grin til the July 1st 2010 fantasy comes to an end…then Mike and Donnie will say it’s all about next year and the next FA crop…please…pig’s tits

The Knicks have basically given away their franchise. They get 2 players who would have went undrafted and they could have then signed them afterward, so why would LeBron want to leave his already bad team for an even worse team? Even with another big free agent, they still wouldn’t win a championship cause they would have a bunch of minimum paid scrubs on their starting line up.

This is true and it’s insane that organization is in trouble. How can you be a Knicks fan right now, they idea of winning is having more cap space then anybody else. The only player on their team that is even worth wanting to play with is Dani and he plays the same position as LeBron but knowing D’Antoni he’ll play one of them at Power Forward. ‘Bron surely aint gonna wanna play four so that leaves the Knicks with a 190 pound starting “Power” Forward. They have no bigs at all unless you count Eddy Curry. Drafting some talent would of helped and there was talent on the board still. I mean like do they really think that Rautins has a chance to play in this league before Stephenson a home town prodigy who would of atleast sold some seats. Lawal is actually a perfect fit on their team and lookin at the roster as is of today he would start tomorrow for them.

They wouldn’t of been drafted you are right. Them two picks were actually really important because the Knicks have really no pieces to build around or core to speak of. If they left the draft with Lance Stephenson and Gani Lawal they leave the draft with two high profile talents who without a doubt have enough talent to become part of your core. In fact they would of started for the Knicks this past season.

I was hoping to start an intelligent discussion about the draft, how the impending free agency frenzy affected draft picks, and the fantasy world that Knicks management live in. Instead I get people hitting the thumbs down button and not even stating what they are thinking are disagree with. I don’t care about negatives but if you really disagree atleast have the courtesy to explain what your take on the situation is and what you disagree with. CanadaKush did I hurt you feelings? Are you the thumbs down phantom? Does anybody have anything intelligent to say about LeBron, the Knicks, and the draft being effected by it all.

If Rautins and Fields were playing Stephenson and Lawal 2 on 2 who do you think you would walk away from being more impressed with? Do you think Rautins could stop Born Ready from scoring?

Being an optimistic Knicks fan, this thread just makes me feel even worse about the draft and July 1st.

Not to mention I didn’t realize how dumb some of my fellow Knicks fans are.

I think I’m gonna go ahead and sign a multi-year fan deal with the Raptors, since I live in Toronto now anyways.

Now that was a quality post..A Knick fan with a little intelligence…I heard somebody defend the Knicks earlier by saying with Galineri and Chandler they already got a 3rd and 4th option on a good team now they just need the 1st and 2nd…hahaha…enter Rautins and Fields…
