Favors or Ibaka on 2010

I think Serge would be a lottery pick, but he wouldn’t be top 3-4 like Favors, although IMO Favors is overrated

He is good not doubting the potential but he is no Tim Duncan and he is being praised like one

Serge is very good, his offense part of his game is very raw, though i don’t think favors deffensive game is anything compared to how good ibakas is

I think this question is unfair to Favors. The primary component of the draft is the fact that you don’t know how the player is going to translate to the NBA. With Ibaka, you know because you saw it. However even with this knowledge, I wouldnt take Ibaka in the lottery. To me, Ibaka is equal to Larry Sanders. Favors has way more strength potential being the same height and 10 pounds heavier at 2 years younger, and could easily grow to ~7’0″. He improved noticeably throughout the year, finding pockets in the defense easier, posting and making more decisive moves. He’s very active, very coachable, has a soft touch, and an elite physical frame. Once he gets on an NBA weight regimen he’s worst case scenario a more athletic, better defending Drew Gooden. At best… a taller Elton Brand in his prime.

They have similar athletic profiles and length, but Derrick Favors knows how to play basketball and is pretty good at it. It is really kind of an easy question.
