MagikKnickParticipantThunder holding serious talks with Pacers to trade Eric Maynor, 18th and 21st picks for Indy’s 10th pick, sources tell Y!

Thudner trying to move up, Pacers trying to get a solid PG, and some more picks….
THOUGHTS?

bucksfan74ParticipantI really like Maynor – good for both teams.

MagikKnickParticipantYeah, I like Maynor, but I dont think hes the answer to the Pacers PG problem, hes a good backup though
Maybe with one of those lower picks they’d aim for Bledsoe or A. Johnson
And if this happens, give Sam Presti some credit, he worked his way into the lottery, and barely really gave up anything.

AllDayyyParticipantAll the haters that were bashing Orton for coming out after this year can kindly stfu now. 10th overall ain’t bad for a kid that never started a college game.

kanebangerParticipantorton the next marvin williams. I like how the Thunder are doing so much work this draft kudos to them

wuteverParticipantE.Maynor is a very capable PG, i mean just look at the numbers when he filled in for D.Will, he also got pretty good PT in the playoffs. He probably wont be an All-star caliber PG, but he will get the work done. I think a role where he splits time with another PG like Caledron and Jack would be a situation where he flourishes

fastdanParticipantI doubt they are moving up for Orton…I’d be willing to bet it’s to take Aldrich though.
0- Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 3:01pm #338940
AllDayyyParticipantYeah its going to be Orton not Cole Aldrich (sliding fast) if you paid any attention to what has been happening the past few days you would know this. If this trade happens you can pencil in Orton at 10 in all your mocks.

MagikKnickParticipantYeah, Seems like Aldrich, DX says Udoh in the mix
http://twitter.com/DraftExpress/status/16890608322I don’t believe Orton has a guarantee, but he might…i mean, they said he cancelled his last 4-5 workouts, you only do that if your injured or have a guarantee. But I still don’t believe he has a guarantee…wouldn’t be surprised if that knee is troubling him

wuteverParticipantya i really hope they dont move up this much to get Orton, way too much of reach. Hopefully a player like Monroe drops to them and in a realistic situation they get Aldrich. Maybe they even trade their picks for a capable proven post player?

IndianaBasketballParticipantI think this deal would mean OKC won’t be picking Orton.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 3:06pm #338948
but a reach, he has no upside.
Ed Davis coulb be the real target, with Whiteside as a fall back.
To bad Monroe dosent slip to 10 he would be great with KD.

MagikKnickParticipantKeep in mind the deal isnt official just “in the works”
but hey Tezo, from a Pacers fan standpoint, what do you think of Maynor & Who do you think the Pacers would want with 18th & 21st picks?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 3:08pm #338953

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantAldrich would make sense to deal up for, though if you read the tea leaves he does not appear to have the momentum. Why would a team deal up before picks are taken? It is to beat a team to a spot they already possess. Supposedly the Raptors like Solomon Alabi at 13, and it is also rumored that the Thunder like him. Memphis probably won’t want to deal down if they like George as much as rumored, and New Orleans might not be looking to deal for bulk. I don’t like Alabi, but I think that is the name that would make the most sense.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantEric Maynor was my 2nd favorite player in last years draft.
If Indiana took this deal, they would have a great PG and picks? Do it!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 3:09pm #338955

StF616ParticipantIf it happens, i like the thunder taking Aldrich, They already took upside big men in the past, look where that brought them. I Like them taking Aldrich in this spot

fastdanParticipantActually, if you had been paying attention the last few days, Alldayyy, you’d know that Orton is the one that is falling, where Aldrich had been late lottery probable for weeks.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThe T-Wolves turned down a trade for Flynn. The Nuggets took Lawson off of the table. The Hornets are requiring too much for Collison. The Spurs aren’t willing to let go of George Hill.
It looks like this may be the best deal Bird can get. As a Pacers fan, I like it… Maynor is a solid point guard. He’s not the long term answer, but he’ll fit in nicely here. I think we could get two solid players with the 18th and 21st picks also.

Gallo-pingParticipantGreat for Pacers. Maybe something like Manyor, Hayward and Sanders ?
My projections might be a stretch but would be an amazing draft for Indy.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/23/2010 - 3:19pm #338969

IndianaBasketballParticipant@MagikKnick
Bird could go in a lot of different directions with the 18th and 21st picks. He could address our front court. Murphy will most likely be traded… Foster could be too and if he’s not… He has a bad back. Hansbrough has some mysterious injury with his shin and ear/head. We could definitely use some athleticism in the front court.
There are quite a few players that Indiana worked out that’ll probably be available. Bradley, Bledsoe, Orton and Whiteside. Bird liked Bradley based on what I’ve heard.

gtravis33ParticipantMonroe could be a great fit for the Thunder here at 10. For some reason Monroe’s stock is dropping and the Thunder really need a big tht can score. They could move him to the 5 and he could come in the starting role right away. Also having former Georgetown star, Jeff Green, mentoring him in OKC Monroe could mature alot quicker than the other bigs without connections with the other players on their new team. I really hope this trade happens!!!!
