MagikKnickParticipantSo, Timberwolves will have 4 first round picks, they’ll definetly be active…
And Grizz try and move up….btw, keep in mind this trade hasnt happened yet though, maybe trying to add a few human pieces on both sides

knicksfan7ParticipantI wonder who the grizzlies want so bad at 16 that they won’t select at 12??
0- Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 9:04am #337525
BlackMamba24ParticipantThey aren’t giving up there 12th pick…They will have 12 and 16, while giving up 25 and 28

delfamParticipantthis is stupid IMO for Minnesota, you what quality players, not quantity, and after 16 I see the quality dropping off so why would they do this trade. There has to be more to this than reported.

Providencefriars15ParticipantI had Paul George at 16 should i move him
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 8:56am #337518

JMIKE is a Grizz fanParticipantcould get avery bradley if he falls that far with george at 12
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 9:04am #337523
jeff416ParticipantI think Memphis would try to get a PG like Bledsoe or Bradley there. I don’t know why Minnesota would do this though, unless there planning on trading a few picks.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 9:08am #337535
mds0549Participantno way Minny takes 3 late 1st rounders, this would have to be done to make other trades – my guess is that future 1st rounders will be involved with some teams like the nuggets and Mavs wanting to get into the 1st round.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 10:51am #337670

memphisgriz731ParticipantMemphis wants Bledsoe and now they feel like he wont be there at 25 so thats why they want to move up IMO
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 10:56am #337678

OhCanada-ParticipantIts riht in front of Miami. They want Bledsoe…Or maybe they want Patterson and Babbitt or maybe lol…Bradley and George.Id say they take Babbitt and Bledsoe.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 10:59am #337684

memphisgriz731ParticipantThey want Paul George more than anybody. They brought in George for a workout in front of owner Michael Hisely who has the final say in who they draft
it’ll probably be George #12 and Bledsoe #16

PlatypusParticipantSign and trade Gay for Josh Smith?
Teague – Bibby
Crawford – Evans
Gay – Williams
Horford – Joe Smith
Alabai or Sanders – ZazaBledsoe – Conley
Mayo – Young
George – Brewer
Josh Smith – Randolph / Arthur
Gasol – Randolph / Thabeet0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:09am #337695

memphisgriz731ParticipantI was just reading that they did a workout for George today specifically designed to put him in different senerios and he apparantly killed it. He’s a lock at #12

memphisgriz731Participantthatguy – if the hawks would do it i would

bogeyproParticipantmoved to here from wrong spot..
So if the t-wolves do the trade from memphis, that will give them the 4, 23, 25, 28th picks i believe. I can’t see them keeping all of those picks. What could the t-wolves really do with all of their picks. here are some way off ideas that would be fun to see for some i guess.
k-love + 23rd for like the GSW 6th pick.
Big Al, brewer/gomes, 28th SandT with raptors for bosh. good luck with that….
Rubio and 4th or 6th + 25th to move up to 1st, 2nd or 3rd pick or do nothing and have the 4th, 6th and 25th pick.
sign Joe Johnson
pipe dreams i know, because who would ever want to come to minny, get rid of the bigs and sign some players. they have the cap space and boy that would draw some interest back here in minny. Maybe they could turn a profit then.
Give me a break i know its my first post.

PlatypusParticipanti think they do it to replace Joe Johnson and Gay would become the new #1 option
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:15am #337704

PlatypusParticipantif the Griz do that then they can let Randolph go next year and use his contract to give Mayo and Gasol extensions
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:16am #337706

memphisgriz731Participantthe line-up would look like this though
Conley/Bledsoe
Mayo/Brewer
Josh Smith/Paul George/Sam Young
Randolf/Arthur/DeMaree Carroll
Gasol/Thabeet0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:23am #337713

PlatypusParticipantSmith is a power forward and only a power forward, he would be the power forward of the future. Randolph can be traded for a draft pick. he can be used to get talent because he of his expiring contract or he can be kept and used for an extension
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:25am #337715

memphisgriz731Participantno he plays 3 and 4 a la Al-Farouq Aminu
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:26am #337717

PlatypusParticipanthe can play it yes but he is best suited to play power forward
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:28am #337719

memphisgriz731Participantwell he can play 3 till we trade Z-BO at the deadline. teams will be crawling over each other to get a huge expiring contract especially since he’s an all-star and could help a title contender
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:32am #337726

PlatypusParticipantif they trade for Josh Smith by Gay then why not trade Randolph for AK 47, both are expiring and are about same amount
Conley – Bledsoe
Mayo – Young / Brewer
AK 47 – George / Brewer
Smith – Arthur / Carrol
Gasol – ThabeetWilliams – Price
Mathews – Gaines
Babbit – Miles
Randolp – Milsap
Okur – Fesenko / Milsap0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:41am #337740

memphisgriz731Participantno thats not fair value IMO and that really 3 defensive minded players (smith, gasol, AK-47). OJ cant do it by himself
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:44am #337745

OhCanada-ParticipantMEMPHIS RECIEVES
Al Jefferson
Corey Brewer
16th Overall Draft PickMINNESOTA RECIEVES
Hasheem Thabeet
Rudy Gay
25th Overall
28th OverallRandolphs contract is expiring.

memphisgriz731ParticipantNo Thabeet
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:48am #337755

memphisgriz731Participantbogeypro – rudy would already be signed. he’s a restricted free agent so memphis can match any offer he recieves. this is a sign and trade

bogeyproParticipantmy bad thanks for the info…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:51am #337757

OhCanada-ParticipantFair enough no Thabeet..I was just thinking add Thabeet because how can they get regular value for Gay.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 11:53am #337761
grizz32ParticipantI agree with MemphisGriz that we will probably get George. I feel it will either be George and best power forward available or a PG
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 12:00pm #337771

PlatypusParticipantthats what Paul George and Bledsoe are for offense
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/22/2010 - 12:10pm #337788

Mr. 19134ParticipantJosh Smith is not a pure power forward. He is best suited actually playing small forward plus in the Western Conference he will have to play small forward more to guard all the Big wings like Melo and Durant. He is much better suited to Guard them then Tim Duncan, Pau Gasol, and Stoudemire.
And why does everybody always automatically start the rookies when they make a trade theres no way that Bledsoe takes conleys starting job right away or Paul George would start over Zach Randolph. Hello Z-Bo just made the All Star Team and put up 20 n 10 which he does all the time so why would Memphis want to trade for an undersized power forward to start over him. Neway its actually a good trade for both teams tho because it allows Smith to play his more natural Small Forward position so he can wreak havoc as a weak side shot blocker, and I was gonna say it allows Horford to play his more natural Power Forward postion but if the Hawks had Gay without Joe Johnson their lineup would almost definitely look like this:
Bibby (Teague off the bench where he belongs)
Crawford (would thrive as the starting 2guard to the tune of 20 a night)
Gay (would become their new franchise talent for better or worse)
Williams (with J-Smoove and JJ gone their is no way that Atlanta don’t give Marvin the nod to start)
HorfordI cant even call this lineup undersized necessarily because Gay n Williams both have the wingspans of a center at around 7’4 and Horford have proven to be a great pivot for this team in the lane. This would be a very exciting team to watch with the only thing missing is a pure point guard to dish the ball n toss oops so maybe Conley would be thrown into the trade who needs a fresh start he obviously isn’t the answer in Memphis.
Memphis looks good too:
Mayo/ Conley/ Bledsoe (Memphis will be playing point in the summer league as a trial run)
George/ S. Young
J. Smith/ Carroll
Randolph/ Arthur
Gasol/ ThabeetThats a big and skilled linup.

grizz32ParticipantApparently the T’Wolves came to the Griz with the trade. I dont know why the Griz are hesitating because I would much rather have the 16 than 25 &28
