esperanzafleet69Participantapparently Milwaukee has asked about magette and have even offered dan gadzuric’s expiring contract along with charlie bell…. if this does go through, how do u think this will effect both teams, and how itll effect golden states draft situation…

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI think GS should do that in a heartbeat. Get rid of a big contract like Maggete. They already have plenty of scorers in Ellis and Curry (as well as Morrow) and don’t need somebody else to take shots all game long. Azabuike can pick up minutes at the 3 and GS might end up using their first rounder to take Aminu anyway.

esperanzafleet69Participanti also think gs should do this… getting rid of magette, getting aminu, and getting an expiring in the deal… i really dont see why Gs would turn this down and i think it would be a good trade for both teams…

burningfloodParticipantAs a GS fan, if nothing else was available for Corey Maggette (i.e, if the Rockets, the Cavs, and other possible contenders don’t want him), then I would do this deal. Corey was insanely efficient last year (nearly 20ppg in under 30 mpg, 61.5% true shooting), and he’s not the worst defender if he plays the 3 (the problem is that Don Nelson sometimes puts him at the 4 for offensive mismatches, and the Warriors get killed on the glass)…but his contract is bad, and every team knows that he’s been on the trading block for a while, so we’re not going to get much value back for him.
I like Maggette as a player and as a person, though; he was a good veteran presence last year, and he was willing to do what was necessary for the team. Very professional.
And while it would give the Warriors cap flexibility for the 2011 year (Radman and Gadzuric would both be coming off the books), free agency hasn’t really been kind to the Warriors anyway (Baron opted out, the Warriors had money, they signed Maggette in a knee jerk reaction). What it might do is impede the sale of the team; if the team is more financially flexible, it’s probably worth more…the negotiations will take longer as both sides need to agree on value.
But no, the Warriors aren’t going to draft Aminu. They’ll draft either Cousins or Monroe (or Favors or Johnson if they fall).

llperezi think it is solid for GState. Adrian griffin looks legit ad they could use that 6th pick on a sf now if they dont like the pf’s available. Milwaukee didnt make a good move in my book. With Illasyova, carlos delfino and luc richard mbah a moute, I think the sf position is less a need then the sg and pf positions. Maggette is good, but just a little too high priced.
