It seems like Cousins is out performing Favors in one-on-one workouts and that the Nets are now mixed on who to pick at #3. What do you guys think the impact of this would be if Cousins went to the Nets. Favors to Minnesota and Johnson to the Kings maybe?

mds0549ParticipantIts funny to see that the Nets matched up a 5 vs. a 4 with the less athletic center winning the battle. I don’t know how Lopez and Cousins would work together and I don’t know how Love and Favors would work together assuming that Jefferson gets traded. Interesting that Minny said Favors was out of shape, was that a smokescreen hoping they could land him?

yashParticipantOff DX twitter:
Wesley Johnson is moving up to 3, New Jersey, on our next mock coming shortly. Told New Jersey will take him and go for a PF in free agency.

MagikKnickParticipant#3 Pick will be interesting, Nets seem to be split 3 different ways…
And if they dont take Favors, things could really shake-up in the draft

scoutguruParticipantI don’t think its a problem. Look at Gasol and Bynum, if you have two big time bigs, you force other teams to adjust to you and you create a size mis-match every nite. Cousins has to be your guy, we’ve seen too many Derrick Favors come along in the past, and not reach their vast potential. Nets need to win now, especially after that disastrous season.

scoutguruParticipantI don’t agree with your assessment there NYC. Why does one have to be soft? And if you’ve watch lopez play, he’s more than comfortable stepping out and shooting a jumper, ever since he was in college. And so is cousins, based on reports from the workout in NJ, he was comfortably hitting shots out to 20 ft. He didn’t show it at kentucky cuz Cal made him stay inside, where he was dominant so there was no point of him doing that. So if one of them are in the post, the other guy isn’t necessarily always going to be there clogging it up, and will make other bigs respect them by occasionally hitting a outside shot.

bobbybParticipantThese day in the NBA you need a 4 man who is capable of chasing a player to the perimeter. There are too many perimeter oriented 4 men. Cousins is not gonna chase guys out there.
My gut is that Nets take Favors but they should take Monroe. Any respected coach/gm always says skills over athletics,
