Yeah Toronto appears to be high on Bradley. I thought they’d look to take Whiteside, but they appear to be high on Amir Johnson who’s already on their roster and look like they’ll try and resign him. Them taking Bradley basically seems to me like they’re trying to say that Calderon or Jack are on the block.

We should get Avery Bradley! Better not be Daniel Orton! We should get a lower draft if we can (by trading one of our PG, hopefully Calderon) and get a pick in the 20s and get Alabi!

but it will be very tough to move Calderon and his contract, if they take Bradley they may stuck with Calderon big contract on the bench ala Jamal Tinsley!

Bradley is an athletic defender, poor mans version of westbrook. Aldrich swats shots and rebounds like crazy. id be happy with either 2, but it depends what Colangelo has up his sleeve.

Anybody who watched the Raptors last year knew that our problem was not the big men, but the perimeter defence. Jose Calderon can not guard a chair. There was one game where Mario Chalmers dropped 30 on the Raps. They have capable defensive big men in Bargnani, Amir Johnson and Bosh. The Raptors are still sold on the fact that they are resigning Bosh so they will not draft a big man. They need better defensive guards and Bradley is the answer.

Calderon is not a Tinsley-type situation. It is a bad contract, but there is only one Dustpan Man. It was the brawl, the drugs, the gun stuff with Stephen Jackson, and the arrest for battery. There is no doubt in my mind that some team would swap a bad contract for Calderon’s bad deal

also Bradley could be effective PG in the NBA only along side ball dominate SG and the Raptors don’t have this so i can’t see Raps taking him this high!

I agree. He plays like George Hill. He only will play PG to create for himself mostly. He’s not a playmaker that can make others better like Calderon could (not even close really), but he will be a pretty good scoring PG who defends like a madman. He would fit best with a ball-dominant guard though I agree.

Calderon is very tradeable. Who wouldn’t want a player who has a very good assist-to-turnover ratio and is a pass first PG?

i think he is one of the most underrated players in the draft, but the team needs a defensive big like whiteside or aldrich …. if bosh bolts bargs and a defensive big would still make a nice combo

I would be very surprised if BC and the boys don’t take Bradley – it is the way of the league these days, to have stronger tallent at pg or the perimeter in general. With Wall coming to the east along with Rose and Rondo and whoever else, the Raptors almost have no choice in the matter. We should feel very lucky as Raptor fans that we have a great chance to draft him at 13 because he could indeed be a Westbrook type player and that’s exciting!

Bradley should be Bryan Colangelo’s #1 choice for the thirteenth pick. If he is available and we pass up on him, I will be extremely furious. As a die hard Raptors fan, i think I know what Toronto needs and thats not a big man. Unless Cousins is still on the board, which is not going to happen, we must take a guard/wing. After hearing about his lockdown defensive capabilities, there’s no doubt that he’s the one. I wouldn’t mind getting Orton or Whiteside, but only with a pick in the 20’s which Colangelo is hunting for. if we were to waste our 13 pick on those two big guys, we would be worse than last season. There’s no way that Hassan or Daniel are better than CB4. Even if they play better defense than Bosh, they lack all the skill on offense. And thats how the Raptors won last year. By using supreme offense to overcome the defensive woes. We might as well rethink our scheme of our two best players being big men, and rebuild. The potential of a backcourt consisting of Bradley and DeRozan is limitless. And after hearing all of that talk about needing a dominant guard with Bradley, I totally agree. The solution to this problem is none other than Hedo Turkoglu. Since Sacremento already pulled the trigger on that Nocioni, Hawes deal, we have no other suitors for Turk. When Bosh leaves, Turk will get to have the ball in his hands for the majority of the time and will forget about his dislikes for the Raptors. He will get to be the Point Forward that he always wants to be. If this doesn’t work out then we can always trade Turk to a championship contending team mid-season who are looking for that piece to get them over the hump. Another note, I think that it`s crucial that we keep either Jack or Calderon, when we draft Bradley. These tow are both solid backup PG`s who can mentor Bradley into a real PG while Turk runs the show for this season. Hopefully, if this all works out, this will be our starting lineup next season:

    PG Avery Bradley
    SG Demar DeRozan
    SF Hedo Turkoglu
    PF Andrea Bargnani
    C Hassan Whiteside/Daniel Orton (a pick in the 20’s)

    Jose Calderon/Jarret Jack
    Sonny Weems
    Marco Belinelli
    Antoine Wright
    Amir Johnson
    Reggie Evans
(Whoever we receive in a Bosh sign-and-trade)

I believe that this is a reasonably competitive team for the upcoming season. Either we make the playoffs as an eight seed and surprise everyone, or just be eligible for the lottery again and keep building on our team. And the only team who I’d think would even draft Bradley before us, would be the Pacers. They are the only team in need of a PG and even though Bradley isn’t a PG, he could fill in as one or develop as one. However, i think this is highly unlikely because Indiana doesn’t have the dominant ball handler like we do (Granger is not a ball handler).

The Raptors aren’t concerned about a big because they are about to get Andrew Bynum in a sign and trade for Bosh.
