FastAndFuriousParticipantWhat do you guys think will happen with him?
And if not drafted into the league, do you think he could earn big money overseas?

JNixonParticipantAs a guy who watched all of K-State’s games, Denis Clemente will be a longshot to make a roster. His speed will be elite in the NBA and he is an electric scorer, but I have a hard time seeing Denis making a team for a long time in the NBA. He’s not a true PG really, is very inconsistent shooting the ball partly due to poor shot selection, and he’d be a defensive mismatch even though he tries.
Best case scenario, he ends up being an Earl Watson clone. I think he’s going to be an overseas player though.

FastAndFuriousParticipantSo do you think he could be an elite level guard overseas?
And how athletic is he?

juves4783Participantyeah, i agree with jnix. he kind of reminds me of carlos arroyo. arroyo is a bit bigger while clemente is much faster. they both aren’t great point guards and take questionable shots. arroyo found a spot in the league after great play in the world championships and olympics. hopefully, clemente can do the same. i always liked his style.

JNixonParticipantHe’s Puerto Rican, so if he played in a league like that where the style of play is wide open he’d be elite.
In Europe? He’s probably be a very good player who is just off the cusp of being elite. I don’t think he’d play in the high levels of Europe though like Rubio’s squad or with the Olympiakos, he’d play in one of the middle level teams I’d say.
He’s a good athlete. Not freakish or anything, but he can change directions very quickly, he was arguably the fastest player in college basketball last season (along with John Wall, Ish Smith and Courtney Fortson), and he can dunk the ball. He’s not likely going to outleap anyone in traffic though

FastAndFuriousParticipantSo he doesn’t have the ability to just go thru the lane and dunk on people.
I’ve watched him play a few times and I was always intrigued by his speed and his nice quickness, but I didnt really think he was explosive.
But I always thought since he was so fast and had decent height(6’0, 6’1) he could go and dunk on people, because most people with speed like that are usually able to dunk.

JNixonParticipantYeah he’s not going to dunk on guys I don’t think, he’s not strong enough or explosive enough as a leaper to do that. But I’ve seen him dunk in the open floor. Twice actually. He’s got decent ups for a guy his size.

FastAndFuriousParticipantO ok gotcha, I never seen him dunk so I was always wondering if he could or was he explosive enough to get off the ground and dunk on people….
If he had that type of explosiveness tho, do you think he’d be picked?

JNixonParticipantHe’d definitely be picked if he had explosive leaping ability. It would limit the crazy shots he takes from mid-range probably and would vicariously make him a better finisher than he is right now.
