TRC1991ParticipantI decided to take all 30 players in the site’s mock 1st round and write 1 question about the player that has been surrounding them
1 quick thing: I know that some guys have numerous questions but i just chose one and i’d love for you guys to pick a player and answer the question that I wrote for him:
1. John Wall:
will he be able to handle taking a step back from having such success at UK and enter a program that is rebuilding (washington) or will he break down and turn into the prototypical prima donna?2. Evan Turner:
will evan’s lack of elite athleticism/explosion be exploited by bigger and more athletic NBA guards?3. Derrick Favors:
will he develop the offensive side of his game in time or will the team that drafts him (new jersey?) get sick of waiting for him?4. Wesley Johnson:
will his lack of experience scoring the ball carry over into the next level?5. Greg Monroe:
will greg’s lack of athleticism effect how good of a scorer he’ll be in the NBA?6. Al-Farouq Aminu:
will aminu’s apparent deficiency in the desire/passion department hurt his NBA career?7. DeMarcus Cousins:
will his questionable character negatively effect his relationship with his NBA coach/teammates and thusly effecting his productivity?8. Luke Babbitt:
will babbitt’s ability to score be overshadowed by his potential defensive liability?9. Cole Aldrich:
Can Aldrich score at the next level or will he be the next big white American center bust?10. Ed Davis:
will his unimpressive productivity in college be a sign of what’s to come at the next level?11. Paul George:
will he ever reach his potential or will he end up becoming the next Shawne Williams?12. Patrick Patterson:
will his lack of upside cause him to slip in the draft and subsequently landing him on a team where he’ll play less of a role?13. Avery Bradley:
will Avery’s serious lack of size/strength/position hinder his potential at the next level despite his amazing quickness and potential on the defensive side of the ball?14. Gordon Hayward:
will he be able to guard stronger guards or blow-by longer and quicker NBA wings?15. Xavier Henry:
will his youth/inexperience prevent him from seeing immediate playing time causing him to lose confidence in himself?16. Ekpe Udoh:
will he ever be more than just an average defensive presence off the bench but not someone you can run your offense through?17. Hassan Whiteside:
will his offensive game ever come into fruition or will he be just another long-armed shot-blocker who could have been something special but wasn’t (oh, hello stromile swift/kwame brown)?18. Daniel Orton:
will the scoreless wonder ever put the ball in the basket in the NBA?19. James Anderson:
experienced and mature but will this one-dimentional player ever be a go-to guy?20. Elliot Williams:
will elliot’s questionable position/size hurt his draft stock causing him to fall to a team that could afford to wait on his development thus lowering his ceiling?21. Devin Ebanks:
We know he can rebound but will he ever be a guy you can count on to score?22. Craig Brackins:
Will this jump-shooting big man ever be reliable on the defensive side of the ball?23. Larry Sanders:
can he be a scoring big man or just another shot-blocking/foul-prone depth-provider?24. Armon Johnson:
We know he has potential, but will he find a place where he can flourish or will his career die out and many of us will forget Armon Johnson was even in this draft?25. Eric Bledsoe:
Can he jump out of Wall’s shadow and prove to everyone that he can be a dependable starting PG in the NBA?26. Gani Lawal:
Can he be a starter in the league even though he doesn’t necessarily excel at any part of his game?27. Damion James:
Will this bulky and veteran combo forward be counted on for offense or will he be Joey Graham 2.0?28. Terrico White:
Will he be able to cause matchup-problems with his explosiveness and versatility or will he be just another average combo guard?29. Dominique Jones:
Can this scorer be more than just an offense-only sparkplug off the bench?30. Trevor Booker:
Can he overcome his relatively small stature to be the next undersized stud PF off the bench?0 - Posted on: Sun, 06/20/2010 - 2:19pm #336185

JNixonParticipant1. John Wall:
will he be able to handle taking a step back from having such success at UK and enter a program that is rebuilding (washington) or will he break down and turn into the prototypical prima donna? He’ll do just fine in the rebuilding effort for Washington.2. Evan Turner:
will evan’s lack of elite athleticism/explosion be exploited by bigger and more athletic NBA guards? His handle and decent quickness is more than enough to make up for it.3. Derrick Favors:
will he develop the offensive side of his game in time or will the team that drafts him (new jersey?) get sick of waiting for him? He won’t ever be a truly good offensive player. Especially for New Jersey.4. Wesley Johnson:
will his lack of experience scoring the ball carry over into the next level? -What lack of experience scoring the ball?5. Greg Monroe:
will greg’s lack of athleticism effect how good of a scorer he’ll be in the NBA? Nah, footwork and craftiness/counter moves will make up for it most times.6. Al-Farouq Aminu:
will aminu’s apparent deficiency in the desire/passion department hurt his NBA career? Nah. Why is his passion being questioned?? This isn’t the 1st time thats come up. Weird. I don’t see that.7. DeMarcus Cousins:
will his questionable character negatively effect his relationship with his NBA coach/teammates and thusly effecting his productivity? Nah, I think he’ll be productive. His character won’t effect his production much.8. Luke Babbitt:
will babbitt’s ability to score be overshadowed by his potential defensive liability? Yes it will be in some ways. He’s a terrible defender in the games I watch. Even when he tries.9. Cole Aldrich:
Can Aldrich score at the next level or will he be the next big white American center bust? He’s be a 13 ppg scorer in the right situation. I think Utah would be perfect for him. That pick and roll would match him and allow him to be a good offensive weapon.10. Ed Davis:
will his unimpressive productivity in college be a sign of what’s to come at the next level? He’s going to be an average role player I think.11. Paul George:
will he ever reach his potential or will he end up becoming the next Shawne Williams? Haha, Shawne Williams is actually a good worst case scenario. He seems to be like Wilson Chandler to me.12. Patrick Patterson:
will his lack of upside cause him to slip in the draft and subsequently landing him on a team where he’ll play less of a role? I think he’s no later than 14 to Houston. Which would be perfect for him by the way.13. Avery Bradley:
will Avery’s serious lack of size/strength/position hinder his potential at the next level despite his amazing quickness and potential on the defensive side of the ball? He’s going to have to play with certain players to be the best PG he can be. He reminds me of George Hill, a guy who plays PG so he can create for himself as opposed to others.14. Gordon Hayward:
will he be able to guard stronger guards or blow-by longer and quicker NBA wings? Nah. He’s going to have to rely on his handle and shooting offensively to do any damage on O. He can be a 12 or 13 ppg scorer though. He’s never going to be a very good defender though.15. Xavier Henry:
will his youth/inexperience prevent him from seeing immediate playing time causing him to lose confidence in himself? Nah. He’s very NBA ready and mature for a 19 year old guy.16. Ekpe Udoh:
will he ever be more than just an average defensive presence off the bench but not someone you can run your offense through? You can use him offensively. He’s not a “run your offense through him” type though. He’s a 4th option scorer who can be a mismatch threat, pass the ball, and who can defend PF’s and C’s.17. Hassan Whiteside:
will his offensive game ever come into fruition or will he be just another long-armed shot-blocker who could have been something special but wasn’t (oh, hello stromile swift/kwame brown)? He’ll be like Samuel Dalembert. An inconsistent offensive player who shows a bunch of flashes but doesn’t put it together consistent.18. Daniel Orton:
will the scoreless wonder ever put the ball in the basket in the NBA? Not much. Maybe at best a 10 ppg scorer. And that’s possibly overrating him.19. James Anderson:
experienced and mature but will this one-dimentional player ever be a go-to guy? He can be a good 2nd on a mediocre team or 3rd option on a contender20. Elliot Williams:
will elliot’s questionable position/size hurt his draft stock causing him to fall to a team that could afford to wait on his development thus lowering his ceiling? I think he’s a SG who can play PG in spurts. Think Tony Allen. Could succeed if put in a role like Allen/21. Devin Ebanks:
We know he can rebound but will he ever be a guy you can count on to score? He’s a 4th or likely 5th option. Who plays great D.22. Craig Brackins:
Will this jump-shooting big man ever be reliable on the defensive side of the ball? Nope. Don’t count on it.23. Larry Sanders:
can he be a scoring big man or just another shot-blocking/foul-prone depth-provider? He’s an average scorer (like 8-10 ppg) who will block shots. If he gets big, he can be a big presence on D.24. Armon Johnson:
We know he has potential, but will he find a place where he can flourish or will his career die out and many of us will forget Armon Johnson was even in this draft? I don’t think he’ll be a great player in the NBA despite his talent. He reminds me of Javaris Crittenton, and I think that’s how his NBA life will play out. Besides the gun suspension.25. Eric Bledsoe:
Can he jump out of Wall’s shadow and prove to everyone that he can be a dependable starting PG in the NBA? He can start for a team like Miami or Memphis alongside a guard who is ball-dominant and can guard SG’s.26. Gani Lawal:
Can he be a starter in the league even though he doesn’t necessarily excel at any part of his game? Gani Lawal is at best a Ronny Turiaf type bench player.27. Damion James:
Will this bulky and veteran combo forward be counted on for offense or will he be Joey Graham 2.0? He’s way more talented than Joey Graham is. On both ends. Think Gerald Wallace.28. Terrico White:
Will he be able to cause matchup-problems with his explosiveness and versatility or will he be just another average combo guard? He’ll be a productive combo guard. Think of a less selfish Ricky Davis a few years back.29. Dominique Jones:
Can this scorer be more than just an offense-only sparkplug off the bench? Not ideally. I’d want him off the bench scoring. He could be a starter though. Has the size and doesn’t have a true weakness other than 3 point shooting.30. Trevor Booker:
Can he overcome his relatively small stature to be the next undersized stud PF off the bench?0 - AuthorPosts
