The referees in the NBA are horrible, they always favor Kobe, LeBron, and Howard. And i think the Celtics could have won tonight if the refs would have been somewhat decent.

these refs were INCONSISTENT with just about all their calls… or just consistently bad

37 free throws to 17 free throws. Interesting.

All of the flops that Pau gets and the blocking fouls that should have been charges that Kobe gets, its stupid.

yes the refs suck, and the free throw descrepency in game 7 was big, and for a reason. THe Lakers were more aggressive attacking the basket and playin more in the post, and the Celtics were admittedly overaggressive on the defensive end. Fact of the matter is..the better team won. And lets be honest, basketball is the hardest sport in the world to referee.

I wouldn’t say that Howard gets favor by the refs. He was in foul trouble most of the time in the playoffs.

Can’t blame the refs in this game. The Celtics gave up 20+ offensive rebounds. You’re not going to win too many games doing that.

Lakers played awful for majority of the game and the Celtics still couldn’t put them away.

Yes Referees Suck, what else is new??? They suck in almost every sport NBA,NFL,MLB…….thats why im not really surprised. The officiating was downright Horrible in this series BOTH ways but it was an entertaining hard fought game nonetheless.

I’m not usually one to blame the refs for more than a few bad calls, but I honestly think that the refs in that game need to be suspended/fined (No, I am not a Boston fan). Neither team played particularly well in that game, but the officiating was borderline criminal. David Stern and the NBA as a whole should be embarrassed. Yes, yes minus me all you want. Any criticism of the referees is usually dismissed as someone whining because their team lost

refs do tend to suck but to be honest, this game was not called that much in favor to Lakers. They let Celtics play real physical with the Lakers but the Lakers kept being aggressive so they got more foul calls and Boston were tired later on and they grabbed more instead of playing d with their length and feet.

I am sure Boston fans will throw out that number like it means something but Boston did not miss out on calls, they just did not get fouled as much.

That Gasol travel was only seen in slo mo. There is not way you can make that call in real time. Also unless Gasol planned to land on his tippy toes there is no way that helped him get his shot off.

Yeah the Refs are bad, but dont be nieve and think they arent bad both ways. They are bad both ways. The announcers dont really help their cause in the public opinion because 90% of the time when Mark Jackson says “thats not a foul” in his rediculously over accented voice, it actually is a foul. Mark, When a guy goes up for a shot and he ends up on the floor due to body contact, it is a foul, just because his hand hit all ball doesnt make it clean, FRICK!

anyways…yeah the FT discrepency is a sad argument. The Lakers relentlessly attack the rim, while the Celtics shoot alot of jumpshots and make stupid fouls. As much as Rondo penetrates, he shys away from contact with his floaters and other crafty ass shots…which he should because his FT shooting deserves some sort of a topic all by itself. Allen doesnt go to the rim, Pierce cant get to the rim without losing the ball or turning it over, Garnett is a fade away guy always has been, Sheed is a 6’11 SG in his mind…see where im going with this, Boston doesnt go to the rim. The Lakers do. Gasol goes to the basket, rip him for his flopping all you want, but he gets in the paint, and gets the FT line. Artest when hes not being an idiot and shooting 3s is cutting and getting to the rim. Kobe when he’s not forcing 20 foot fadaways is going to the basket. The Lakers attack. So quit biotching about the FT disparity.

Refs are very inconsistent it is true…They seem to call alot of cheap shit on the 2nd line guys as well while the stars can play through that contact. It does seem like they give cheaper calls to some players as well, but thats just how it works when you play for a long time and get a reputation.

And I will admit that at times the officiating does seem rigged. Not like gambling rigged and rediculously terrible calls, but there are times when it is pretty obvious who the NBA wants to win…Usually the Cavs because David Stern gets a hard on for Lebron. Usually the Lakers because the NBA has a sick passion for Kobe, and some of the better teams seem to get alot of those 50 50 type calls that could kinda go either way. But thats the world we live in and we all just need to get used to it.
