Durantula-35ParticipantThey have us picking two 6′ 9″ forwards, then Sherron Collins? Would we really pick another PG when we already have Westbrook and Maynor, and when Darrington Hobson is still available?

the I in winParticipantYou never know, if the team really liked both players in the workouts then they might take 2 similar players.

Durantula-35ParticipantWe already have Green and Ibaka, I think we should address our glaring need of a backup to Durant

aarondsonixfanParticipantI think they are trading their picks up to get a big man like Aldrich or someone like that. If not, I can see them picking up Sanders and Pondexter in the 1st round. I don’t know why people are saying that they are going to draft Sepharin or whatever is name it. That would be a waste of a pick. I would love them to get Varnado with their early 2nd round pick, but that probably won’t happen

duhrant35ParticipantI think the Thunder should package the picks and an expiring, I believe Kristic and Collison are expiring, and try to get Greg Monroe. The Kings could be in the mix, maybe a 3 team trade with somebody where the Kings get the Thunder’s early second rounder and a pick from the third team (between 10-14 or so). The third team (maybe Pacers) would get the 21st and 26th from the Thunder, and the expiring would go to the Kings or the other team and the Thunder take back a bad contract.
For example:
Thunder get
Kings 5th pick (Monroe)
NocioniKings get:
OKC 21, 26, 32
Collison expiringI think this would make more sense with the Kings moving into the range I said, but I can’t think of a way to get it done. This might not be a legit trade, but I think the Thunder should parlay their cap room into a legitimate PF because they can’t win in the playoffs with Jeff Green playing the 4. I think he would be best suited for a Lamar Odom type of role as a super sub.
A lineup of:
C-Ibaka (Kristic or Collison whichever they don’t trade)
PF- Monroe or other high draft pick, Green
SF- Durant, Green (subbing both spots)
SG- Sefolosha, Harden
PG- Westbrook, Maynor
would be pretty awesome. This may be far fetched, but if other people have some more reasonable trades that would work I would love to see them. I tried a 3-team trade with the Pacers, but couldn’t find the right players to fit, so that could be one. The Kings are just one option, but I think up to 7 the Thunder could get Monroe or maybe at 5 they take Cousins. Let me know what you guys think.0- Posted on: Thu, 06/17/2010 - 4:56am #333878

TC_42ParticipantAs a Thunder fan, I’d be pissed if the draft played out how the mock currently has it.
Our glaring need is not a backup to Durant, but a big man.
Draft a couple of big men, and then Jeff Green can still start at PF for now and back up Durant when the big men rookies play. Durant plays 40 minutes a game anyway. And Thabo plays at SF sometimes when we go small.
I love Duhrant’s idea. Trade up and get Monroe. He’s perfect.
If we don’t trade up, then I’d like to see us get Orton at 21, Brackins at 26, and Ryan Richards at 32. I don’t really care about 51. Whatever.

TyroberParticipantif the thunder get Daniel Orton, Stanley Robinson, Gani Lawal, Craig Brackins, or Ryan Richards with that 21,26,32. That is a great draft imo. Orton, Robinson, Lawal/Brackins/Richards is an A draft

td8118ParticipantThat is definitely an A draft….They should just be drafting for depth

the I in winParticipantWhy draft a back up for durant. Why waste a draft pick on a guy that is going to play about 8 minutes a game.

fastdanParticipantJeff Green plays all the backup minutes at SF!
He gets pulled from the game from Ibaka at about 8 minutes in, then comes back in at the start of the 2 and 4th quarter and plays SF with Ibaka and Collison at the 4 5. At about 5 minutes into those quarters Durant comes in for him and he rest for a few minutes then returns back in the game for Ibaka.Basically this means they any SF they would draft would only play if either Durant or Green got injured. And even if that happened I would expect to see Thabo play more minutes at the 3 and Harden would play most of the time at the 2.
A first round pick for insurance? Presti is smarter then that.
If they don’t trade all their picks to get Aldrich or Monroe they’ll most likely draft projects or foreign players for the reason that 9/9 players that were in their rotation last year are coming back this year. There’s just no minutes to be found for guys like Lawal or Brackens. Take Orton, Alibi, of Seraphin because of their upside!

PlatypusParticipantif they make that trade for the 5th pick would they select Monroe or Cousins? and if they do it they should try and keep the second round pick to get a back up small forward like Pondexter or Hobson
