Michael.S.ParticipantHoopshype is saying that the Nuggs could trade/are trying to trade him for a top 10 pick

JazzinSLCParticipantNo one would trade a top five pick for Lawson, so which teams picking between 6-10 would need a point guard?
Warriors – Curry – no. Pistons – maybe. Clippers – Davis – no. Jazz – Williams – no. Pacers – maybe.Could be Detroit or Indiana.
Billups is getting up their in years, not sure why they would want to trade Lawson. He could be a very solid player, and part of their future. I love his quickness.

mds0549ParticipantHe is a real sparkplug on that team and I don’t see them making a move unelss they are blown away with a trade because they’ll have to replace him at a higher price.

ItsVictorOladipoParticipantAs far as I’m concerned, Lawson isn’t worth t top ten pick. Collison might be but Lawson is not. Denver is really trying to take advantage of a weak PG class (outside of Wall of course).
I wonder if they’re targeting someone within the top 10? A power forward like Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson perhaps?

Tyreke JohnsonParticipantLawson is not worth trading, they need him on their team especially since Billups is getting up there in age. I made a thread a couple days ago, Lawson could be a solid starting PG, he is one of the fastest guys in the NBA, is unselfish towards teammates, can slash to the rim and finish and is a good outside shooter. Under Billup’s leadership and guidance Lawson can be a solid PG for the Nuggets.

McWinningParticipantDetroit also has three highly paid guards, they really need a big man and are gonna go after either Cousins, Aldrich, or Monroe.
Indianas the only realistic option, i could see that happening.

Lunchpail12ParticipantPacers need a PG — how about Lawson and a future No. 1 for the No. 10 and Solomon Jones (to make the contracts even)? Indy gets a point guard at least as good as any that’ll be available at 10, and Denver can add 2 big men to its rotation.

piratejpParticipantThe best they’d hope to get would be the #7 IMO – but can’t think of anyone there that is worth giving up a PG that you already know can play in the league. Maybe Monroe, but I wouldn’t trade Lawson for Monroe, and I like Monroe.

Toronto16ParticipantIndiana should do it.

McWinningParticipantI remember last year Larry Bird said if he hadnt taken Hansbrough, that he would have taken Lawson, i could see it happening.

JRdaFilipinoParticipantPossible destinations:
Indiana. Other than that, I don’t see any other teams with a top 10 pick in dire need of a point guard (Maybe Clippers but they need a young SF before they can start looking for Davis’ long term replacement) More likely destination are Memphis or Toronto. IF the Nuggets can, they should try and acquire not only the pick but get another player in return who can possibly make an impact.
Best Case scenarios in trading Lawson for a pick and additional player.
Indiana: AJ Price or Josh McRoberts and #10 pick
Memphis: Marcus Williams or Darell Arthur #12 pick
Toronto: Marco Belinelli or Joey Dorsey and #13 pick0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/14/2010 - 5:09pm #332391
Stojakovicfor3ParticipantI dont think Lawson is worth a top 7 or 8 pick but I think the Pacers would be willing to give up their 10th pick for Lawson. The Pacers are in need of a PG. TJ Ford is a FA, AJ Price is injured and out 4 months and Earl Watson sucks monkey balls. So I think its better for the Pacers to get Lawson instead of picking someone like Eric Bledsoe or Avery Bradley.

apb540ParticipantThe trade to Indy makes some sense. Patterson would be an awesome replacement for KMart.

apb540ParticipantI hate Kmart too lol. Such a bum in the playoffs and would never ever want him on my team.

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantDo you have a source or site for this rumour?

Charlie SheenParticipantIf this is true as Denver fan I would hope this happens.
1. Trade Lawson for 10th draft Ed Davis
2. Kenyon Martin opts out unlikely but one can dream
3. Sign Raymond Felton, Ronnie Brewer and Tyson ChandlerC- Chandler/Andersen/Petro
F- Nene/Davis/Balkman
F- Anthony/Brewer/Graham
G- Afflalo/Smith

OhCanada-ParticipantIn the 5 games Ty Lawson started IN A ROW and played 30 plus minutes IN EACH GAME these were his stats…
34.4mpg 19ppg 7.2apg 2.6rpg 1.6spg 36/63FG 6/12Threes
Heres Brandon Jennings stats
32.6mpg 15.5ppg 5.7apg 3.4rpg 1.3spg 37%FG 37%3PT
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/14/2010 - 10:12pm #332507

TRC1991Participanti really hate that point you just tried to make…jennings had so many factors to overcome and lawson came off the bench so he was slowly eased into things while jennings was given the reigns and told to deliver and he did
0 - Posted on: Mon, 06/14/2010 - 11:26pm #332513
Leftovers16ParticipantThat’s dumb that’s in 5 games he couldve average 50pts in 50 games for the next run iono but picking the best performances to talk about doesn’t hide the fact of what he did as a whole if we talking bout stats Curry for ROY but overall game is Evans no doubt
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 2:46am #332520

surveParticipantI think it was a valid point he tried to make provided that he is not trying to imply that Lawson is better than Jennings. I think the point he is trying to make is that if Lawson is given full time reigns on a team, he has the potential a very good point guard.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 3:25am #332524
mj23bestever23Participantwiht billups aging makes me shake my head why the nugs would even consider trading lawson but if they are the pacers would be insane to not pull the trigger lawson would start rite away for them and who at the ten would be better than lawson for the nugs great trade for the pacers
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 4:09am #332535
johnecoParticipantLook, Denver might do the trade if they feel that Lawson has major weaknesses that are not yet apparant to everyone else. I’m not saying he necessarily does, but he might, which may be why he was drafted so low.
Personally I like him and hope what we have seen is just the tip of his talent. But a savvy GM who sees him every day can know a lot more about him than we do. It is possible that this is his peak trade value. We have seen his game only for limited minutes. It’s possible that he has weaknesses which they have been careful to hide, but which they feel will challenge him once teams have scouted him more thouroughly.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantIt’s too perfect…Lawson WOULD BE a top 10 pick in this draft…he’s a winner and he’s a Larry Bird/Jim O’Brien guy…Granger and Co…need this guy to run their team…The Nuggets are one or 2 glue guys away from taking over the west next year…The GM wants a guy like Udoh or Patterson to man the 4 at times and they keep calling the Sixers and offering J.R Smith and K.Mart for Iguadola and Lou Williams…The Sixers Wanted Nene(before injury) instead of Kenyon, or Birdman( For Ticket Sales and Marketing) as a deal closer…
They hope either team (Pacers or Sixers) gives in…Then the Line Up Will Be
Billups,Igudola,Melo,(Udoh,Patterson or Davis) and Nene…L.Will,Affalo,Birdman and Balkman and Hunter off the bench…They’d love Dalembert Too…To battle with LA’s size in a 7 game series…and he’d provide cap relief next year when Melo is A FA…Iguadola would be a 2nd option guy if Melo bolts to NY…Indy wants that move too…Bird loves Lawson types…he should do this asap….He’s get a floor leader for a platoon playing power forward…
Sixers won’t make that Move that move…JR is a pure scorer and would thrive in Philly but he’s a headache and a risk to ask for the big money if he has a few good years…He’d score 20 ppg in Philly at the 2 with Turner at the 3…and Holiday at the one…K Mart’s deal provides relief at some point but I don’t know if Philly bites…Maybe they Have to add Birdman…J.R,K.Martin and Birdman for Iggy and Dalembert…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 5:30am #332555

JNixonParticipantThe Pacers would NOT be a better team with Ty Lawson at their starting PG..And to give up the 10th pick for him is crazy. Lawson is a change of pace PG, if you want to be a good team.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 6:12am #332574
The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantto replace Miller on the Sixers…Why wouldn’t he be a good point guard on the Pacers…I didn’t want him over Jennings or Holiday…But he was a good pick either way…Why wouldn’t the Pacers do that Deal…Maybe if they added JR and Birdman for Murphy…Then the Trade would be 10th and Murphy for Lawson, JR and Birdman…Lawson on the Pacers would be great fit…their a uptempo Team…Lawson,JR and Birdman would thrive in their roles…They’d be a free agent or draft pick away from being good…The Nuggets would draft a guard like Henry to replace JR…they’d get the big man they’d love in Murphy…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 6:25am #332585

JNixonParticipantI do not remember saying Ty Lawson should replace Andre Miller at all…That honestly doesn’t even sound that would have even crossed my mind. I probably said I’d rather have Ty Lawson over Jrue Holiday because I didn’t like Holiday as a prospect last season.
Even if I did, Ty Lawson isn’t a starter now. He’s too small, and not a good enough shooter or pure playmaker to be a starter. He needs to be in the role he’s in right now with Denver to be his best. Lawson is not better than T.J. Ford right now anyway IMO. In fact, he’s basically the same player. Except even shorter.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantYou know the ones below the main forum links…Look back you’ll see you thought highly of Lawson and hated Holiday…Now Holiday is the Next Payton it seems…and Lawson is a 6th man “change of pace” PG…I’m beginning to question your BBall IQ….LOL….and your memory…just scoll the Sixers Fan page below…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 7:41am #332640
FDAPOIf you are the GM of the Pacers and you don’t take Lawson for the 10th pick….
You are retarded.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 7:50am #332656

JNixonParticipantI didn’t say I’d take Lawson over Holiday….I simply said I see the 76ers taking Lawson or BJ Mullins in last year’s draft. If this is the post you’re referring to. :

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantYou said you’d Like Lawson for them plenty of times…U even said you Love Flynn…would you pick Lawson and Flynn over Holiday Now….would you be right for it…Jrue was a steal as was Ty Lawson…would you like to tell me who you think the Pacers and Sixers should draft…with all that IQ…It wont be that much better or worse than my options I bet
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 8:15am #332681

JNixonParticipantThe 76ers should pick Turner obviously.
The Pacers would be better off trading for Darren Collison, but both aren’t more than backups. They need PG’s but Lawson wouldn’t solve their problems. He’s not better than TJ Ford.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 06/15/2010 - 8:32am #332687
The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantHow is Lawson not better than Him…If AJ Price started over him…Ty Lawson to the Pacers Thank you…
I believe the Sixers Should too draft Turner but I’m open to trade him for all of Minny’s first Rounders…And since both Lawson and Collison are risks and not starting Point Guards…Would the Pacers Take L.Williams for the 10th pick…He’s a big Point at 6’3 or combo guard…he’d be a good uptempo point guard…he’d get 15ppg and 6apg if he starts…and he’s better than Ford…
