Building A Championship Team

Seeing D. Wade at the Finals made me think he was there to see what type of team you needed to win a Championship in this NBA Era. There are 2 types of team that wins titles.

1. The 1-2 Punch combo with a side of Role Players that fit your system.
Teams like.
Jordan and Pippen Bulls with- Kerr,Rodman,Grant,Kukoc,Harper,Longley and Armstrong
Shaq and Kobe Lakers with- Horry, Fox, Fisher, George, Lue, Grant and Walker
Robinson and Duncan Spurs with- Elliot, Johnson and Kerr
These combo’s dont win it anymore b/c the game has changed to a team enviroment in order to win due to the amount of talent in the league. you cant just put 2 all stars together and think the other players make it happen

2. The Unified One Goal One Mission Team
Teams like
The 80’s Lakers- Magic, Kareem, Worthy, Scott, Rambis, Cooper
The 80’s Celtics- Bird. McHale, Parrish, DJ, Henderson, Walton
The 80’s Pistons- Thomas, Dumars, Lambier, Johnson, Rodman
The 2006 Heat- Wade, Shaq, Posey, Payton, Mourning, Williams, Walker, Haslem
The 2004 Pistons- Billups, Hamilton, Wallace & Wallce and Prince
The 2003,2005 and 2007 Spurs- Duncan Ginobili, Parker, Horry and Bowen
The 2008 Celtics- Garnett, Pierce, Allen, Rondo, Perkins, Posey, Cassell, Allen, Brown and House
The 2009 Lakers- Kobe, Gasol, Bynum, Odom, Ariza, Fisher, Vujacic, Brown and Farmar

Things I see consistent with these teams are an Inside-Outside combo with the right mix of shooters, defenders and guys who can play multiple positions. So what do I think Wade and LeBron do. I think they say to eachother lets save the league like Magic and Bird did lets build our own teams and battle it out and see who truly is better. Kobe and Gasol have about 3 years left of dominace together so LeBron and Wade get their Gasol. LeBron get Bosh and Wade gets STAT. They then get the right pieces around them LeBron goes to New York where they have the money and pieces in place to build the winner he wants. Wade stays in Miami where they have Money and the right pieces to move players and sign guys.
