wowthisisneatParticipantWith Minn openly stating how Love and Jeff dont fit well together, what do you all think of this. If they get the 3rd pick in the draft they take Cousins for the 5 have Jefferson play the 4 and trade Love for Jeff green to play the 3. I think that Green would fit well in the triangle having played in a cutting system in college and suceeded. As for Okc they get a dominant rebounder particularly offnsively which is something that they lack. Although they are a strong RB team overall defensively they are quite poor. Love provides great rebounding/outlets for their fast break and range that compares almost to green. i beleive that Ibaka will start next year and so this will keep their defense up. Thoughts?

xbadgerhustlerParticipantI like that trade for the TWolves, but I doubt OKC would be down for that. I know I wouldn’t trade Jeff Green for Kevin Love, even with Kevin Durant on my squad.

Charlie SheenParticipantSwitch Jefferson and Love
Then You’ll Have
T’Wolves
C. Cousins
F. Love
F.Green
G.Brewer
G.FlynnThat gives them the Gasol-Bynum combo the Lakers have for the triangle
Thunder
C. Ibaka
F. Jefferson
F. Durant
G. Sefolosha
G. WestbrookThey now have a post presence and a front line of 6’9,6’10,7’0 woth a bench of Maynor,Harden and Collison

wowthisisneatParticipantits just that they give up so many offensive rebounds that it will help so much. westbrook and love on pick and pop would be very nice.

RUDEBOY_ParticipantI get what you’re saying..But i heard that this summer..That if Washington gets the 1st or 2nd pick..To select Wall or Turner …They will try to send Blatche,Young or Thornton to the T-Wolves for Love..Remember you heard it here 1st…

M-DYMESParticipantPersonally, as a T-Wolves fan I’d rather keep Love as opposed to Big Al. I like Big Al dont get me wrong, but he seems to lack some level of work ethic and leadership that Love brings to the squad. The numbers Love is putting up in 20 mpg is damn near crazy. He is still managing double doubles and some 20 pt games despite coming off the bench and only playing about 1/2 a game. He’s a much better fit for the triangle too and he has better range and is a little bit more mobile than Big Al. If we get rid of any of them, I hope it would be Big Al (bigger contract too), but i would hope to get more than just Jeff Green in return for him. What we really need is a 2/3 as opposed to a 3/4 type guy anyway.

fastdanParticipantNot sure they would mess with the chemistry in OKC…they seem to care about those things there, and for good reason.

the I in winParticipantYeah i think the management of OKC is going to try to add while not substracting any real contributors. On a side note do they have money for this up coming summer? Sure they can dream of bosh or amare but i think david lee would fit well and could be had some what easlily if offered the right money.

ChabvisParticipantOKC wouldn’t make that deal and everything that I read and see tells me that Minn is going to try to move Jefferson rather than Love (for the reasons that M Dymes said). OKC will not want to break up their core of players that they have going there. According to hoopshype, it looks like OKC is going to have some cap space this summer. That is where I think they go after some players rather than with breaking up their nucleus.

flyboyParticipantSorry, but Jefferson is simply not close to quick enough to defend the PF position. And his quickness against the C position would be neutralized at PF full time. So therefore, I think Love is the best fit for Minnesota.
They should look into trading Jefferson, and probably Sessions, and they need to get a solid wing in return and maybe some more draft picks. Love is a better fit for their offense, and is a more versatile player in terms of what he can do to help the team. I don’t think OKC is a good fit, because I doubt they would mess the chemistry up, and if they did break things up, it wouldn’t be for either Jefferson or Love, they would want a better defensive presence out of the 4 and 5 positions, although Ibaka’s shot blocking could somewhat hide Jefferson at the 4. They are going to add, not subtract/swap.
I think that Miami could be a decent fit for Jefferson because he can command a double team which would loosen the defense for Wade, and because D-Wade can create good shots for him, and he can play center there, since O’Neal is a free agent.

the I in winParticipantWhat is jefferson’s value right now? I haven’t watched him much this season but last season he was still a very good low post scorer and rebounder. Earlier in the year when they offered him for granger i was shocked when the pacers said no.
What other player is he about as valueable as?

ChabvisParticipantHe has had injury problems, off-court issues, has been playing in a system that he does not fit in particularly well to, and is playing next to a guy who is another really good player, but too similar to him. Every team in the league knows these things, so his value drops accordingly. The Wolves need to move him more than other teams want him I think is the problem. If he was playing really well and him and Love meshed together than the Wolves would not NEED to move him, so they could probably get a better value for him. But at the moment I don’t think that he has a whole lot of value. He is still a very good player and a force in the post, but he definitely has his basketball issues and those compounded with his other issues and the fact that the Wolves seem desperately (to me at least) to move the guy make it so his value is not very high.
I get the feeling that he could be had for a pretty reasonable price. Can’t really think of any straight swap type of deals, since they rarely happen anymore anyways. He would probably be used to get some expiring deals with young talent type of deal. Just a random guess though.

M-DYMESParticipantI wasn’t shocked at all when Indy turned that down. I would have been shocked if they accepted, and I would of been one pumped T-Wolves fan if we got Granger for him. Jefferson is starting to play better since his DUI but he is having a little bit of an off year. He doesn’t get as many touches as he should though which is in part due to the fact that the T-Wolves realize this season is a bust and were just testing out other talent to see who stays and who goes. Right now though, I say equal value for Big Al would be about Monta Ellis (maybe), Rudy Gay, Manu, or Devin Harris. Along those lines of talent.
He’s already close to a 20-10 type guy despite the constant change of lineups in Minny. I could see his overall play improving if he lands on a team that doesn’t expect him to be the #1 guy. He’s potentially a solid 2 and already a great 3rd option.

paint intruderParticipantI think Big Al becomes expendable, if the wolves can draft (or trade for) a good center who meshes with Love, who I think could become one of the better low-post players in the league, based on his rebounding skills and the understanding of the game he has.
Or maybe Darko shows everybody that he indeed can play a bit, so that he can fill the void left by a potentially traded Jefferson. In my Opinion the wolves should try to draft Monroe and trade Jefferson for a potent 2-guard.
Don’t hate, I’m just trying to share my view. 🙂

delfamParticipantDevin Harris for Jefferson would be a good deal, but would Jersey do it. It seems like Brook Lopez fits better with a stretch 4 then someone who takes up space in the paint.

rtbtParticipantHey Fresh Taste, did you see this?
April 4th, after Milicic left the game at the 10 minute mark after blocking 3 shots, Kurt Rambis said, “”Losing Darko hurt, he’s such an imposing presence inside defensively”.
What does that tell you? It tells me the head coach realizes what Milicic brings to the team on defense. Although many others were surprised by the play of Darko, I wasn’t. Milicic had some big games since being inserted to the lineup. On more than one occasion he had a double double in scoring/rebounding while blocking multiple shots. His assist numbers were also pretty high for a center.
I have a feeling that David Kahn and Rambis believe they may have found their center, who is still only 24 years old. Most people don’t realize it, but Al Jefferson is actually older than Milicic.

sheltwon3ParticipantWhy would Minny give up any of their bigs and draft a big that is similiar to Jefferson but then again Minny makes stupid moves but OKC does not. OKC needs an athletic big not a slow one. Minny don’t have nothing OKC really wants except for picks and Rubio.

sheltwon3ParticipantThey need to trade someone and the thing is where would they trade Jefferson too. he is a nice player but is a slightly undersized center with a pretty hefty contract. After this draft not many team will need a player like him for that money. Maybe Bulls could use him but they have a chance to draft and maybe sign someone better for their team. I honestly think Minny will have to keep him unless they can move him to GSW but GSW likes to run which is not Jefferson strength. Give me one team that has the money or contracts to do this deal that would. Detroit comes to mind but only if they dont get who they want in the draft.

M-DYMESParticipantDelfam, I’m not saying Minny should trade for Harris, Ellis, Gay, or Manu, I’m just saying that is about equal value for him.
That being said, adding Harris for Jefferson might be interesting if NJ takes Wall and decides they want to get rid of Harris. Hmm….
