knicksfan7ParticipantIf this is true, it will sure send shock waves across the nation. He will definitely be a huge asset to St. John’s as well as bring excitement to NYC College Basketball.

jeff416ParticipantWhy would Pitino go there? That would be a downgrade from his current job.

chicago2ParticipantHow would it be a down grade from his current job he is from newyork city it makes all the scense in the world he would get to live on long island where he is from and be on the front page of the new york times at least twice a week! And he would get the bigtime players in newyork to stay at home

JoeWolf1I always hear about the draw of basketball players to New York and I understand the ration behind it, but it obviously isn’t as big of a draw as a lot of people would think. The Knicks have been out of the playoffs for quite some time and when Lebron doesn’t sign with them this summer it will be another summer where New York fails to land a top free agent. St. Johns has been down for quite sometime too and I’m sure they’re offereing Pitino the job, but I think their best bet would be getting a coach from a mid-major on his way up rather than a legend who has stated he wants to finish his career in Louisville AND is currently coaching in the same conference you play in. When coaches change teams it’s rarely to another team in the same conference.

LeroyJenkinsParticipantPaul Hewitt is the frontrunner for the St. John’s job and Georgia Tech has given him permission to talk to them
