    I’m confused on what people want from Hassan Whiteside. I seen many fans call him the next Patrick O Bryant. Are you serious? Do you idiots even do homework?

    O’ Bryant in his declare year- 13.4ppg, 8.3rpg and 2.9bpg

    Whiteside this season- 13.3ppg, 9.1rpg and 5.4bpg

    So Whiteside’s freshman numbers are better then O’ Bryant’s top season numbers? He’s a better defensive player as well and still can add bulk on his frame. O’ Bryant was a scab who had one good game in the tournament. Whiteside already has 3 Triple Doubles to his name and could had have a 4th.

    Also, so what the man’s gonna be 21 years old, John Wall is gonna be 20. What’s the deal? That doesn’t kill his upside at all. How does staying at Marshall going to “increase” his draft stock? Not like there pulling in a superstar for him to play with him. So if he increases his numbers to say ( 20ppg, 12rpg and 5bpg) in C-USA, you’re still gonna use the he hasn’t played anyone card yet.

    I’m not saying Whiteside is a top 5 pick but if I was a team who could use a potential all defensive center who can grab 9-11 rebounds a night and score 8-10? I’m taking Whiteside. Can we also say that noone is a lock to be successful in the NBA? Thank You

    Whiteside can’t return to school, he’s not academically eligible to do so. Considering how terrible he is at everything and how horrible his mental state is, you really want to spend a top ten pick on him?

    1st off, show me a link saying he can’t come back to school. I would spend a top 10 pick on him. I wouldn’t start him off the bat and let him work for 2-3 seasons and let him earn the PT.

    I’d take him in the mid-late 1st round, where the risk of setting back the franchise for a few years is minimal and he can develop behind a good starter on a decent or quality team ideally.

    This probably won’t happen though, and he’ll get picked by a bad team that can’t really afford to develop him for 3 years without being sorry throughout his development period. When you take someone in the top 10, you look for some type of immediate production. Whiteside can be a great shot-blocker and a pretty good rebounder, but he’s not all that good right now at anything else other than some of his post moves showing raw potential. He has to be further along than that to justify being worthy of a lotto-pick..He does seem to have a big upside though.

    He is terrible at everything. The second he gets to the NBA, he’ll the league’s worst passer and man defender. He’ll probably be the least intelligent person in the NBA and one of the laziest. He’ll have the worst post game of any big. He’ll be a terrible rebounder, etc.

    How can one be ineligible at Marshall? I mean Randy Moss, Byron Leftwitch, and Jason Williams all got by there so it cant be THAT hard hahaha unreal

    He never tries hard during games, his coach called him lazy, his rebounding numbers are not good for a super athletic seven-footer in a terrible conference, he has horrid defensive technique and no strength to hold his position in the paint. In three years, he may be a good player, but you don’t draft players in the top ten who will spend their first two years in the D-League and that will probably never develop due to how bad their intangibles are.

    Watch him play. He is not a good rebounder and he is not a good defender.

    He can block shots at a high level but that’s about it. I wouldn’t touch him with a lottery pick, and I wouldn’t be surprised at all if he free-falls in the draft ala DeAndre Jordan.

    I’ve seen him play. I think the exact opposite.

    I feel he’s solid at rebounding and he’s a decent defensive presence. In terms of post up defense- It can improve, I agree there. He’s lanky. I believe he can develop into a pretty good player in the NBA. I dislike the Patrick O’ Bryant statement.

    Plus, DeAndre Jordan free fell but ask some of those teams again in maybe the 20’s, they might take him. Also, Jordan had a TERRIBLE season at Texas A&M. He only left because the coach began to not trust him and he lost PT near the end of the season. I didn’t see that with Whiteside.

    Whiteside had a very difficult time qualifying academically for college, only actually getting into school at age 20, and is reportedly having problems staying eligible now that he’s already there, which will likely leave him no choice but to enter this year’s draft.

    Yea, so were talking about him entering the Draft.

    I think he can be a top 10 pick ( with workouts) because he has the size, he can provide a defense presence and can potentially be a good center.

    ya some dumb team will take him in the top 10 but just like patrick o’bryant and sene and all the other quote on quote defensive stalwart shot blocking big men he will fade into obscruity….. teams should learn from past mistakes and not take a flyer on a guy who is virtually only a shot blocker and is a twig for nba standards…if he turns out to ever average more then 10 ppg i will give u credit but im willing to bet my scholarship, wait ill give u a million bucks if he can do tht but nah he will fade away.. and on top of it he is stupid and lazy so good luck!!
