j1232eParticipantWill win, they just have beter players. Stephenson is just not tough enough this year to prevail to the madness tourney!

QUINCEYlance is looking pretty good. not great but good. if anyone thinks the madness is gonna bother hum must not have ever been to a rucker game. the fans are wayyyyyyy more rowdey and alk wayyyy more trash. playing in nyc prepares you for themadness

JNixonParticipantSomeone questioned Stephenson’s toughness? Woah. That’s his strongest trait IMO.
WVU will win though. I’m not sold on Vaughn as a PG. He’s looked pretty bad this year playing the point as he’s had to get used to not being the only legit scoring threat on the roster.
WVU wins 74-65. Look for Ebanks length to be a big threat in the way Stephenson plays.

j1232eParticipantLance is not strong enough to put cincy on his shoulders this year.

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantIf not for the crazy hype that comes with being a NY prep legend, Stephenson would be getting praised for being one of the best freshmen in the Big East. He has had a very good season. Obviously, he isn’t a finished product or ready for the NBA, but the tools are there. He can work on becoming a better shooter and doing a better job of getting his body into balance before shooting. The nice part of the one-and-done rule is that now Stephenson has realized that he has work to do, and has said he will be back for his sophomore year to better get ready. Of course, nobody mentions this when defending the rule.
As for tonight, I don’t think he is going to fare particularly well if Ebanks is guarding him. That is an NBA defender he will be going at.

QUINCEYdoesnt ebanks defend power forwards?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 4:07pm #264979

JNixonParticipantKevin Jones is the PF for WVU I believe on both ends.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 4:18pm #264990

The8thDeadlySinParticipantEbanks defends every position. He defended Steph Curry and then DeJuan Blair last year. He can do it all on defense.
Um.. I dont think Im going to comment on who will win this game because I am going to be very bias and probably come off as a prick.. I’ll bite my tongue.. er’ uh ball up my fist???

BasterdInABasketParticipantYou know the format for the big east championship is changing again if the 4 teams with double byes all lose. WV wins big though.

QUINCEYyeah last year but doesntwv have him defending pf this year?..didhe defend cincy”s of last time they played?
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 4:30pm #264999

The8thDeadlySinParticipantMaybe.. It, like all defensive assignments, depends on the matchup. I think he will guard Stevenson tonight. KJ starts at PF and can defend them pretty well. Welligton Smith defends the C. Butler usually defends the SG unless he is an absolute stud, then Ebanks defends him to keep Butler out of trouble.. It all depends but I think he is on Lance tonight.

0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 4:59pm #265011
QUINCEYlol..yeah tht throw it at the basket while falling down shot
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:15pm #265046

The8thDeadlySinParticipantRight now, Lance is carrying this Cincy team. I am worried that if anyone else starts scoring, WVU is in trouble.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:18pm #265049
j1232eParticipantjust scored another 45 pt. game WOW he was unstoppable!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:18pm #265050

JNixonParticipantLance Stephenson can be a big time scorer in the NBA, I can imagine him being a BEAST in iso plays…..He has a great 1st step and some good handles.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:19pm #265051

The8thDeadlySinParticipantDont you already have a topic posted on that?? So why is that flooding over here??
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:28pm #265053
QUINCEYi was thinking the same thing about lance iggy. you can see the potential. his handles are nice and he has very good court vision. he reminds me of evans because he can handle and pass and is strong and can get to the hole very well. dont think hes as good as eveans but he does some of the same things evans can do. lances change of direction is very very nice as well
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:33pm #265057
QUINCEYborn ready for 3. man i didnt know he was shooting that horrible from three point land though. like i told someone on here though good new yorkkids arent bothered by the madness
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:35pm #265059

JNixonParticipantYea I like that Tyreke comparison…I went from comparing him to Paul Pierce to a Ron Artest type, but that Tyreke comparison is very good.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:35pm #265060
QUINCEYtied game with 6.4 sec left. you see lance jumping up and down on the inbounds play…he wants it
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:36pm #265061
knicksfan7ParticipantLance is still very rough around the edges, but he is fearless and isn’t thinking twice about taking the shot when it counts. That can’t be taught, once he refines his game, I really think he is going to be a force in college, and later the NBA.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:37pm #265062

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI think Lance is a large AI wanna be.. He pounds the ball through the floor then passes for a shot or throws up something crazy. Iverson used to dribble for 20 seconds and either shoot or pass for a quick shot.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:38pm #265063
QUINCEYyeah hes rough around the dges which you expect as a freshman and even with that you can see the talent. the talent was never a issue though it was always his head which seems better now
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:38pm #265064

The8thDeadlySinParticipantWVU BALL!!!!!! WVU BALL!!!!!!!!!!
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:39pm #265065
QUINCEYwow..pressure busts pipes. and not eventhe defenders pressure. the pressure of having the ball at crunch time at the endof a game
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:41pm #265068
knicksfan7ParticipantDa’Sean Butler is soooooooo clutch.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:42pm #265069

The8thDeadlySinParticipantAll you can say is
“Mmh”
0 - Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:42pm #265070

The8thDeadlySinParticipantHey! Did that look a little like the Kobe vs Heat shot?
0- Posted on: Thu, 03/11/2010 - 6:43pm #265071
knicksfan7ParticipantYeah very similar, though if I remember Kobe’s was more off balanced. Butler was a bit more squared.

JNixonParticipantThat was a big finish…I think they should’ve let Stephenson bring the ball up the court, #3 looked nervous to me lol……Great shot by Butler!
