It’s hard to make a case to get a great player when the only guys you know you are going to play with for sure are going to be toney douglas, wilson chandler and danilo gallinari. oh yeah and you might get to play with what’s left of tracy mcgrady. It’s hard to see a team becoming a championship team when they are likely to have even worse players next year. You might as well stay in Cleveland because you know you have some guys that can play and management works hard every year to keep you in contention.

i could just look at the name of the post and know that it is a quincey post. obsessed with criticizing the knicks much? fact is buddy, knicks are going to go through a HUGE overhaul this summer and people are going to finally see what kind of pull the city of New York has when their franchise has a little freedom. Quincey you are in for a big disappointment this summer and i fully except some nice Knick posts, even maybe a few apologies. Walsh has always said this summer is not about Lebron, hes just an option. Whoever thinks the Knicks are not going to be a top 4 team in the East next year is blind.

bkballer-top 4 even without lebron? If we assume lebron and wade don’t go there, that leaves guys like joe johnson, amare stoudemire, carlos boozer, chris bosh etc to play there. And even if the knicks get two of those guys, that means they probably lose david lee in doing so. They don’t have a draft pick, and chandler and gallo both play the same position. If they don’t get lebron or wade, there are no gaurantees that a bosh or an amare are what it takes to turn them into a contender.

Bk is right. Long be gone the days of Isaiah Thomas and the team struggling with cap space. They went through years where they blew their finances on average players who were not the quality players they seemed to be at the time. I think this time around, they know where the talent is. They won’t be going for the young unproven guys. They will be going for established Allstar/Allstar Potential players. I actually think they need to let TMac go after this season if he commands too much $ as well. There are plenty of big names on the market with less injuries and more left in the tank. $5 mill is fine for him but anything too much above that is asking too much for a guy who is coming off multiple injuries, is aging, and hadn’t played for about a year. Be on the lookout for Bosh. I think they grab him early and then look to see if anyone else will come to team up with him.

they might get bosh and they might turn things around. But has bosh ever won 50 games before or got out of the first round? Unless you get lebron or wade, i think you’re overestimating how much any other free agents are gonna do to turn the whole thing around over night. They need a starting pg a legit center who can play defense and they probably need to resign lee. Can they address all those needs without a draft pick and just with the money they have and still get a superstar on top of that?

the difference is i praise the knicks when they do something right and get on them when they do something wrong. youre one of the few knick fans that never admit when they have done something wrong or a player isnt doing that well. jim rome gets on the knicks all the time. barkely kenny, jalen rose. all these people get on the knicks wayyyyyy more then me but im the one who hates on them huh…lol i put this up here because it was funny as hell when i saw it. rome has said many bad things about the knicks but i didnt post those things. i posted this because of how funny it is. you keep saying ill be dissappointed but why?…if the knicks get lebron it wont matter to me one way or another. same with if they dont get him.. im a laker fan thats the team i worry about. youre the one who is banking on this and this is gonna affect you one way or another bk. let me say this again…I COULD CARE LESS WHAT HAPPENS TO THE KNICKS..if they get wade..great..if they dont..great.

interesting read btw, shows how Knicks can play around with the cap and actually have a Mid Level exception to go along with their signings.
I wouldn’t look too much into their roster right now and count who plays what position, I expect a major overhaul this summer and I actually think Lebron is not coming. But they can very easily have two of Gay, Johnson, Bosh, Amare. Tmac will stay for cheap because he is not going to have enough time this year to convince any team to take a gamble on him and hopefully comes back as a good THIRD option on a top 4 team in the east. If Gallo or Chandler create too much of a clutter at SF they can easily be traded., Maybe even with the expiring contract of Eddy Curry for a very good PG or Center (maybe Okafor?) Hornets would jump at the opportunity at cheap talent AND taking a bad contract off their books because they struggle financially. You have to remember once the Knicks actually get their franchise players, they will have no problem taking on bad contracts to stack on more talent.
We all heard the best case scenarios….Lebron, Wade etc – signing 2 of those caliber players would make them one of the best teams in the NBA for the next decade. However if it doesnt happen there are so many other realistic “fall back” options.

Its easy to go to Miami, cause nobody in Miami even cares about the Heat. They cant even sell out and they got DWade. So there is no pressure to play in Miami, cause nobody gives a s%^t.
