festar35ParticipantThere has been a lot of talk about this guy lately and personally i really like him (Last year as well). I was just wondering how high do you think his draft stock could reach? If he has a good NCAA tourney and makes Sweet 16 could he be Top 5 etc?

DanEboyParticipantI think there a lot of teams that are projected as having late lottery picks that are mad at him for going off lately. I think he could become a very good scorer in the league. It would be nice to see him and Bosh in a Bulls uni next year.

knicksfan7ParticipantFestar, I started a thread on this if you want to join. http://www.nbadraft.net/node/18776
I think James Anderson would have to take OK. State to the elite 8 or final 4 in order to to be a top 5, though sweet 16 he can def be a top 10 pick. If you’re putting Wall and Turner as locks for the top 5 and close to a lock is possibly the foreigner and Wes Johnson, so it would be tough for Anderson to even sneak in, but I think when it’s all said and done he will be a definite top 10 pick.

festar35ParticipantMy bad thought you were just talking about him in regards to other wing players, not draft as a whole.

RUDEBOYSkip Bayless said on 1st Take monday morning, that Anderson might become the number 1 pick..If he becomes more assertive…Skip is a little off base with that prediction..Every year someone gets Hot ..Or plays well during the tournament..And we the fans & tv commentators predict he’s the next best thing..Anderson reminds me of former NBA AllStar Jeff Malone ..He played during the 80’s and early 90’s..His strength & weaknesses & Anderson’s strengths & weaknesses are almost the same..Lights out shooters..Decent athleticism and ballhandling skills.Has the abilities to bang inside, lockdown defenders..And both love driving to the left..If Anderson has the type of career Jeff Malone had, he should go top 5…

festar35ParticipantLooking at the numbers Jeff Malone put up he was a good scorer but it seems he didn’t have 3 point range, the most threes he attempted in a season was 74 his rookie year. Anderson has NBA 3 point range but those numbers of Anderson’s maybe along the right line.
I personally still think he is like Michael Finley.

knicksfan7ParticipantFestar loving the Michael Finley comparison for Anderson, though I think more along the lines of Mitch Richmond for Anderson for his scoring abilities, either one is fine.

knicksfan7ParticipantI have said this already, but what will separate James Anderson from average to very good is the PG that is paired with him in the early stage of his career. He doesn’t need to be a #1 option in order to be good, but he needs a PG who knows how to play the point well to create shots for him and as well as give him the open 3. Be it New Orleans with Chris Paul, Utah with Deron Williams, or Chicago with Derrick Rose. I would have said Andre Miller, but we know the SG there and that’s the franchise.
Rudeboy as to your Jeff Malone comparison that’s pretty good, though Jeff Malone was before my time so I guess 6-4 SG was average at the time, so I couldn’t say Malone was undersized if he played more recently I could see Dominique Jones being similar as an undersized 2 guard.

RUDEBOYFinley has better ballhandling & play making skills than Anderson does…

quinceyhodgesRUDEBOY..lol..that was a damn good one..the jeff malone reference.. i liked him and anderson does remind me of him except hes 2-3 inches taller then jeff was which should help. i think anderson can potentially be what ben gordan would be if he was 6’6

ctw724ParticipantWith the 17th pick in the NBA Draft, I have to believe John Paxson has this kid on his radar.
He could be the perimeter shooter and defender the Bulls need.
