Who do you pick && why ?
Both will have great careers but I pick Turner . He can play 1,2,3, && 4 (has played the 4 while at Ohio State) , Better ball handler than Wall . Produces more in less playing time (Wall averages 34.6 minutes && Turner averages 34.4) . I think Wall can be a Wade type (saying that he could be a GREAT closer && a GREAT PLAYER) . I also think Evan Turner can be a Scottie Pippen , Penny Hardaway , Grant Hill type [saying that he could be a GREAT all-around player , a GREAT closer , && a super-duper star (bill simmons” lingo)] . At worst I see Wall as a Rondo type (great playmaker , great defender , good rebounder) . At worst I see Turner as a Joe Johnson type (good at everthing , great at nothing) . Wall has 25,5,8 potentail with 3 stocks a game (steals && blocks) . Turner has 25,8,9 potential with 4 stocks . But , more importantly (and perhaps more valuable) , he has a legitimate shot to lead his team in total points , rebounds , assists , steals , && blocks (along with Dave Cowens in ’78 , KG in ’03 , Scottie Pippen in ’94 , && LeBron in ’09) . Thats a special player . Wall’s special too . But , Turner does more && will be effective for a much , much longer time than Wall && a lot of other NBA rookies && sophmores . He’s a ” fill in the blanks guy ” . He does EVERYTHING . He’s (in my opinion) the most talented player to enter the draft since Kevin Durant in ’07 . && He can play in any setting . He Could dominate on the Knicks , Jazz , Spurs , or whoever .
Me , myself ? I honestly think that if he gets a more dependable 3 point shot , that he could be in the mold of a Kobe Bryant . Scary . && Kobe will be able to score 30 a game until he’s 46 if he really wanted to . That’s Turner’s potential . He could possibly be able to control an entire basketball game for his ENTIRE career . Jordan , Bill Russell , Magic , Kareem , LeBron , Jason Kidd , Kobe , Bird , Shaq , Oscar Robertson , Jerry West , Tim Duncan , Allen Iverson . Those are the ONLY players that can honestly say that (in my opinion) .
When Wall can’t go left he struggles to score && create . Turner doesn’t struggle . Not only is he a point guard , but he’s the best point guard && player available in the 2010 NBA Draft .
If I had to start a franchise from scratch , I’d pick Turner without a doubt .

I think the points and assists are a little high for Turner. I could see him averaging 23 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists in his prime. 25, 8 and 9 are LeBron type numbers and Turner isn’t on that level…

I think that ceiling is too high for Turner. He will probably be a 22PPG 6RPG and 5APG guy. The difference between Wall and Evans is Walls athleticism. You can get by in college but that is what separates the Really GOOD from GREAT. Evans is at best an Above Average athlete. Not elite level. The quickness and bounce of a LeBron, Wade, Jordan is what puts them on another tier.

turner is a junior… wall is a freshman… theres NO chance he averages 28 8 and 9… just not a chance whatsoever… MAYBE at best somewhere along the lines of 25 5 and 5…
you saying turner could be that good is one of the most ridiculous things ive ever heard on this site…

back in 96 people also said that kobe being great was ridiculous.
in 03 some thought lebron would be average at best.
&& in 84 jordan wasn’t even thought of as as being the greatest ever.
wade was thought of as above average.
&& so on. . . . . .

definitely don’t think turner will ever get 8 and 9… he has definitely climbed in my book this season tho. the team that gets the number one has to at least consider turner.
i did like your point about wall and injuries. it can happen to anyone, and im not sayin turner is immune, but wall’s style of play seems to put him more at risk. turner seems like he plays more in control.
also, isn’t wall the age of a sophomore? didn’t he just play 5yrs of HS? i thought he was jennings class a while back…

I swear Evan Turner reminds me so much of Grant Hill. And if Grant Hill never feel victim to all those injuries, he would have been unbelievable. IDK if I’d take him over Wall, but he def. has plenty of upside and is the more complete player at this stage in their respectable careers.

Just a side note Wall was 5th year senior so he is the age of a sophmore there was debate weather he could have entered the last draft since he was 19.
I think Turner is the same type of player as Brandon Roy who was a very good leader and can do everything. I think if turner can be paired up with a good big man that would turn him into a all star just like Roy after a few seasons
For Wall its hard to say if he will be great or just good because being able to jump can only get you so far because there are a lot of players in the NBA that can jump. We will just have to wait and see if he can keep turnovers down at the next level and make shots.

come on guys 5apg for Turner’s ceiling LOL ???? he is avg 5,9 IN COLLEGE in way more difficult than in the NBA, not saying he will avg 9 but his potential is really 22&7&7 or better, who knows..
BUT Wall is #1..Wall is freshman he will be way way better than he is no, Turner is MAYBE little better now but he is junior and not that athletic or raw talented junior, he is already great player but he won’t so much better. and back to the statistics i agree with Wall’s 3 stocks but 4 for Turner? you mean 2.5stls(possibly leads best) and 1.5blks(better than Wade)? or 2+2 ?(even Josh Smith can’t do this already)

John Wall is going to be 20 years old this September.
Evan Turner is going to be 22 years old in October

so is it because of age as to why he cant put up better numbers?..im sure there were guys younger then roy who didnt play as well.. talent is talent being younger doesnt always mean youre gonna be better

yea i understand what everyone’s saying . but , if i were starting a franchise && i had to win right now (as is the case for most coaches) , i’d draft turner . i know what i’m going to get . at worst he’s a really important glue guy . && i understand the athleticism factor . but , you won’t be great by just athleticism .
&& as far as lalaila saying that turner doesn’t have the raw talent of a Wall . . .
if he’s not nearly as athletic as wall && he’s still the best college player in the nation , then what could it be ? luck ? go to sleep man !!

I’m a huge Wall fan…and he’s my favorite player right now so don’t be surprised if I sound a little biased.
I think right now, yes, Turner is the better of the 2. I think what people were saying about age was that Wall is better than Turner was at this stage of their careers. And yes, I also think that Wall will make a better pro. Sure, he makes a lot of turnovers, but Wall at his best is unstoppable right now. You base potential on what the player can do at his best, and what Wall does at his best is unbelievable.
I’m not saying Turner won’t make a great pro. You can’t go wrong with either one.
