Lance Stephenson told the Enquirer’s Bill Koch today that he will likely return next season, saying he has not had an NBA-type year.

Stephenson, the pre-season rookie of the year, leads all Big East freshmen in scoring with an 11.2-point average. He also ranks fifth in rebounding with an average of 4.8.

very good idea if he sticks to it. so many freshmen and underclass men think they are ready when they clearly are not. hopefully favors, bradley, jordan, ed davis join him. i didnt put henry because i think if he returns some of his flaws( handles quickness) will get exposed and him dropping in the draft next year if he does come back

Good idea, that is unless there is a lockout the following year.

good for him. People are always saying how immature he is, but this proves otherwise. I actually think Lance has had a pretty good freshman year. He is fitting in with the team and is doing what is being asked of him. If he comes back next year I think we will see just how dominant he can be. The sky is the limit for him and I would really love to see him be moved to point guard as I htink he can really excel there, similar to Tyreke Evans.

I think he should as well…I like his potential (especially scoring) and I like his competitiveness. I don’t think he’s quite productive as he needs to be to make the jump, but he can be next season. Vaughn is gone and I think Yancy Gates is a nice compliment to have on most nights.

I read a very good article about Lance how he had to get away from NYC and he likes the atmosphere at Cincy b/c it lets him be himself. I am glad he is staying another year. I think he will do very well in his sophomore campaign and be a 1st rounder in 2011.
