It’s unusual to see lol, but the Clippers just closed out a tight game vs the Bobcats in which they trailed heading into the fourth quarter. They’re now on a two game winning streak.

They turned the ball over 18 times, but I liked what I saw. They played pretty good defense, especially in the fourth quarter, and held Stephen Jackson to a 1-16 night.

I liked what I saw out of Drew Gooden, Travis Outlaw and Steve Blake. One of the problems the Clippers have had this year, is their lack of a good bench. That shouldn’t be the case anymore. Gooden, Craig Smith, Outlaw and Blake are very solid. Everybody contributed tonight, even DeAndre Jordan, who started and had an amazing dunk over Theo Ratliff.

I really think they can finish this season on a good note. It’s always a big IF with the Clippers, but IF they can finish the season strong, it could give them some momentum heading into next season.

There is a certain someone on this site that really enjoyed Jordan’s dunk…I’m surprised he didn’t start a topic on it yet…you know who you are…

a lot of people wrote off the clippers getting blake and outlaw for camby. But the clippers, as you pointed out tezo, are gonna need a bench if they want to win next year. I know both guys are free agents, but this will give the clippers a chance to look at them and evaluate them and then first chance to resign them. i like both guys as bench players for a young team trying to get better.

Attaining crazy athleticism & crazy shooting while avoiding the potential logjam next year when Griffin is healed, all for an older fading big? Personally I thought Clippers won in this deal to begin with.

bstar, the only problem is that both guys are free agents after this season, and the clipps potentially could have got them anyways. Camby should have gotten more in return, but i kind of blame other contenders in the league for not giving a better offern then what the blazers gave. Atlanta, boston, denver, utah, clevaland could have all used him.

The last time the Clippers made the playoffs (2006), they had strong play from their starting lineup and bench. Brand, Kaman and Livingston in the starting lineup and Maggette, Mobley and Cassell off the bench.

When you think about the talented players they currently have and the money they’ll have via free-agency, they should be able to add or re-sign (I agree that they should take a seriously look at Blake, Gooden and especially Outlaw) some significant pieces. I know it’s the hot trend to want to go after a max deal guy, but adding three or four very solid players doesn’t sound too bad either.

I really like this for the Clips. I actually wrote before the season that Blake would be a good fit with the Clips and that Thornton didn’t fit with Gordon. Outlaw gives them some shooting and scoring off the bench. They could do worse than Gooden…

If they could move Baron and resist the urge to resign Ricky, I think the Clippers would really challenge for a playoff spot next season.

Also I think Butler and Smith are keepers. Great role-player potential.

Maybe they could pull Aminu, Ebanks or James in the draft. Who do you guys think would be a good pick?

They waived Bricky Davis. IMO it would nice if they could get LeBron, but if they do they would lose any good bench. They should just resign Gooden, Blake, and Outlaw, then go for some key players. The only way we get Gay is if we over pay him.
