ctw724ParticipantHere’s a nice looking prospect.
He’s the right JJ that should be on the Chicago Bulls, not James Johnson.

JNixonParticipantI wouldn’t be jumping to pick JaJuan Johnson. He’s scary skinny, and he’s never going to get big because he has some of the most narrow shoulders I’ve ever seen. Even more narrow than guys like Kevin Durant and Anthony Randolph. He’s a decent offensive player, but I see him having a hard time scoring in the NBA with his lack of strength and inconsistent mid-range game. He doesn’t quite have the face-up game he’ll need to play in the NBA right now. He needs to return for his Senior year..

PlatypusParticipantI think his max could be a Charlie V

JNixonParticipantCraig Brackins is much more like Charlie V than JaJuan Johnson

Adi JosephSo you like the Chicago Bulls and Purdue Boilermakers.
We get it.
But don’t you want these guys to come back to school?

sayounhParticipanti agree that he would be at best a solid role player for an NBA team. He’s listed as a PF/SF on most nba draft sites but he cant handle the ball nor does he have enough nba range to be playing SF. Matt Painter has been trying to get him to gain some weight for the past three years but it seem he just doesnt have the body type so it’ll be quite hard for him to defend and score against the bigmen in the NBA level. His rebounding abilities are also somewhat subpar. Robbie Hummel is a much better rebounder IMO.
BUT, many similar things were said about Purdue alum Carl Landry(except that he’s too short, not skinny) and he’s doing quite well right now in the NBA. JJ definitely needs to stay another year.

ctw724ParticipantHe and E’Twaun Moore need to play a TWO-MAN game with Moore at PG and Johnson at PF/C.
That’s the only way they will have success in the Tourney.

ctw724ParticipantLike E’Twaun Moore, I think it would be a good idea for JaJuan Johnson to go back to school. Both those guys are future pro’s, but they need more time to develop their games.
It’s a good decision for him to TEST the NBA waters and see what he needs to work on.
