Where do you think they will finish in the Western conference? Do you think with the roster that they have that they will make it to the second round or are they 1 and done?

I think they will finish 5th in the west which would currently put them in a first round matchup with the Dallas Mavericks. I think they will be a first round exit as they lack any real size at the 4 and 5 spots, i mean i love Jeff Green, but he is a big versatile 3 and not a real 4. With a talented bigman next year they could really be contenders for a deep playoff run IMO.

    Thoughts?

completely agree, i think the thunder are a productive big man away from being a real contender, i think they’ll finish 5th also…

they should make a push for chris bosh this summer

I think David Lee would be a better fit for the Thunder than Chris Bosh. I feel Lee would be better because he isn’t as demanding as Bosh and they could draft a C-Aldrich or if hes not there Alabi from FL State who could learn and develop behind Lee and then draft another wing player whos primarily a defensive stoper.

I think cole aldrich would be gone. maybe get pitman? Jerome Jordan or Keith Benson wouldn’t be terrible picks either.

if they can trade both of their picks… they can probably move up to the top 10 where aldrich and cousins will be

this is my fav team after the lakers…and i would love Lee at the 4 spot…but theyll need a big athletic center that can play some defense and board…
but wat do you think they should do bout westbrook…but him to the bench they need some more shooters….then with all that they will def be second in the west…well of course you got to add some experience in the playoffs then they can go to elite status

The Thunder would never bench Russell Westbrook, next year, maybe now he is a top 10 PG. As a Knicks fan I would love to have him, guy is so versatile. You’re crazy to think the Thunder would even bench him. He is a matchup nightmare at the PG position for teams whose biggest worry is Kevin Durant rather than Westbrook.

they dont need to do anthing qwith Westbrook, he’s perfectly fine and underrated IMO, no he’s is not a chris paul but he passes to the open man, creates shots for others and scores. what else could you ask for in a PG?

    jerb…your probably right

hey knicksfan next time you say somethin i dont agree with ill make sure ill remind you how stupid your sugesstion is…all you got to do is say you dont agree with me and give me the facts like jerb did…not tell me how crazy i am…the reason why i said this is because they need some shooters to spread the floor a bit more when they do get this 4 man and for drving lanes…second if they do get a 4 man someone will have to go the bench either Green or Westbrook…and it wouldnt be idiotic to bench one or the other…

I did not mean to make my statement as if you personally are crazy, rather I meant it as the Thunder organization would be crazy to even consider benching Russell Westbrook. I am sorry if you took it that way. As for what you said, if the Thunder did get a legit 4 man, then Green will come off the bench because Westbrook has proven himself as a very good floor general as well as him and KD have very good chemistry together.

ummm i’m pretty sure he didn’t say you were crazy dude.. he’s just saying that they would never bench westbrook. I see where you’re coming from where you’re saying they need more shooters and whatever, but that’s what James Harden is for, that’s what KD is for… Westbrook would be the guy giving it to the shooters and gettin buckets at the rim, as well as from mid-range. They just need a solid big man

aight then its good we cleared it up…my sorry for overreacting..i just dont like it how ppl sometimes from this site are shooting ppl down for their ideas and i thought thats wat you were doin to me….anways goin back to wat i was saying…i just think they need some more shooters on that team…i know KD can shoot and Harden i think is ok….but if you look at some of the contenders they have a whole bunch of shooters dallas, cleveland, orlando, denver, lakers can have a whole bunch of ppl who can kinda shoot…and Thunder really doesnt have much…

Glad to know we’re good. I would only shoot down a person’s idea if it was absolutely ridiculous and by that everyone else would realize it. I definitely agree the Thunder need more shooters, but I think Westbrook needs to get a better shot before they go after shooters, shooters aren’t hard to find benches have them on every team. I think Westbrook needs to learn how to a hit an open 3 and keep working on his mid-range game, then he will be good. I think Harden is a formidable shooter with a nice 3 ball. The Thunder I feel are way ahead of schedule with what they are doing now, so with that being said they should be okay for the future. They have 2 first rounders this year, I think they should draft Gani Lawal with one of them, though may sound crazy, but if they could trade up possibly and draft James Anderson who can start coming off the bench they could be a threat, but let’s not go too far into the future and enjoy the season ahead of us now.

yeah i dont think anyone realized thunder was goin to be this good this fast….and we will see if the thunder is goin to go to elite status by seein if the organization is goin to be willin to spend..so far they are good at drafting for talent now we will see if they are willing to go for a player who is atleast boarderline allstar that can play the 4 position…thats unless this Gani lawal is a beast which im not sure i dont follow college players unless your in the lottery…

You should watch a Georgia Tech game for yourself to make a judgment on Lawal, I don’t want to be the one to mislead anyone.

Green is vastly improving at the 4 position i don’t think its there biggest problem. develop a good bench which they have a pretty decent one but need to work on the 5 more then 4

they would need to trade up but i think Greg Monroe would fit perfect with this team… this is an unselfish team who doesnt care who scores just as long as they win except at the end they feed it to KD and then trade jeff green for a person to compliment Monroe

I think Cousins would be a good fit…someone big that can get boards and will be a good down-low presence

They should hope for Cole Aldrich. David Lee would be alright for them because he provides rebounding and a mid-range game to spread the floor. I think they have a more glaring need at C though, and Lee is a true PF who’s only playing the C in NY because they have a severe lack of size. Aldrich or Cousins (if they get THAT high a pick) would be the best choices, and Lee would be someone I’d try to sign as a backup if I couldn’t draft those 2 guys.

I can’t imagine Cuban letting Haywood walk with Dampier being 35…But like someone already said, their biggest hole is their 5…I like green because he can spread the floor on offense, which is huge for Durant and Russel, and he’s still willing to learn the 4 spot on defense, so don’t write him off just yet. If they can get Aldrich, who I think can be a 10-10-2 in this league, that would be a huge upgrade over Kristic/Collison and would really help them get to the next level. However, that might not be the most realistic scenario, but any solid C they can pull out of the draft/free agency would probably help this team.

It’s scary to think that they are the 2nd youngest team in the league, have a huge hole at the 5 (a super important position) and are still able to be in the thick of the western playoffs.
