    "Ronnie Brewer has been been dealt by Utah to the Grizzlies in exchange for a protected first round pick, according to a report from Ross Siller of the Salt Lake Tribune.

    Utah would move under the luxury tax under such a scenario and also free up minutes for other wing players."

    Solid pickup for the Grizzlies. Brewer will give them a great athlete at the wing position who can defend the two and three. He can backup both Mayo and Gay.

    Or DeMarre Carroll.

    I think Brewer is clearly an upgrade over both of them though. Brewer’s only problem is he can’t shoot.

    Ding ding ding. I think Memphis knows that with all these teams scraping together cap room and only one LeBron, one Wade, and one Bosh that there is a REAAAALLLLLYYYY good chance someone maxes out Rudy this summer.

    lol..gay wont get max money thats for sure. brewer is a very good pick for them. and i doubt gay would take that huge step back by signing with the twolves…but i like the enthusiasim..;)

    as a jazz fan I am saddend to see ronnie go although his shooting has struggeled, his althetism and defence made him a fan favorite, although I am a little intriged about this future draft pick. Does any one no the protection on this pick? If they get this pick along with New Yorks pick it could be very valuable to them through a trade package or pick up two quality young guys.

    I think it is a 2011 pick. Lottery protected through 2014. After that we just don’t get the pick.
