I agree with Donnie, he’s making the right move and if Houston doesn’t want that too bad.

Houston wants the 2012 first round pick to be unprotected… Are they crazy?

This is like a car salesman setting the price of a car way higher than what it’s worth just see what he can get… If he ends up getting talked down, the least he’ll get is what he thought it was worth anyway.

Walsh isn’t a dumb… He’ll hold his ground and still get the trade done.

The Knicks can have a lineup like this by tomorrow

    House-McGrady-Chandler-Gallinari-Lee
with Ty Thomas , Douglas and Giddens as the main 3 off the bench

I think NY could pry away a 1st from Boston and maybe this team isin’t dead yet. If McGrady can come in hot, this team might be in the 8th seed discussion

You’re pushing the whole knicks as an 8th seed thing, but if the Knicks can get a 1st from Boston I will be very very pleased. I think Duhon would be the starter before Eddie House and Toney Doulgas off the bench. I see the same starting 5 just switch duhon and House.
Bench would be House, Douglas, Tyrus Thomas, Giddens, and maybe Bender.

Though with a 1st the Knicks can draft in the later part of the round a Center (Jerome Jordan would be a nice possibility.)

If all goes according to plan, we will sign some good free agents between 2010 and 2011 so i dont think we’d be a lottery team in 2012. Houston is crazy with their demands. They arent even players in free agency 2010 so its not a huge deal to take on Jeffries contract.

McGrady come in hot? I doubt it… He hasn’t played all season and is coming off of a major surgery. It’s going to take him a few weeks, maybe more, to get his legs underneath him.

I don’t see the playoffs happening.

If the Knicks are able to pull off all 3 trades (T-Mac, Tyrus, House), then he’ll be a genius + depending on how T-Mac will be coming right out of the gate..

But I only wanna do this if we make all 3 trades happen, cuz im not a fan of giving up Hill & future draft picks..

Qhaynes, you are crazy if you think House will start at PG for the Knicks. Duhon will still be the starter until they are completely out of the playoffs. If the Bulls deal comes through and Walsh can pry Pargo from them he may compete for a spot in the rotation.

A more realistic lineup for the Knicks is:

    PG – Duhon
    SG- McGrady
    SF- Gallinari
    PF- Chandler
    C- Lee

Thomas may replace Chandler or Gallo in the starting lineup if either is playing poorly. I’m intrigued to see what Giddens can do.

I would rather give up Hill than give up draft picks. I would be cool with the 2011 pick being lottery protected, 2012 being top 10 protected, and 2013 unprotected.

The Knicks are the 11th seed right now. Ty Thomas will be great off the bench. If we get Pargo, I would love it ( I also heard we might look at Acie Law and Sergio Rodriguez from a man on the inside), The Knicks just need McGrady to be good. I expect him to play probably 20 min for a while to get back to the game. Lee, Gallo, Chandler and Duhon ( Who I completely forgot) will have to hold fort and teach the new guys.

Plus, I believe Chicago and Philly sliding so IMO, The Knicks might have a slim chance. Not a lock at all, lol, a chance

The Knicks are 15 under the Knicks would have to win 10 of there next 15 in order to be in contention, and that is extremely unlikely.

To be honest, I hope NY asks for Bill Walker over Giddens.

I’m interested if the 22 year old has more in him

i am slightly concerned about what Walsh plans to do with Lee. I dont know if we’ll be able to re-sign Lee this offseason and I hate to let him go for nothing. If we pull the trigger on a deal right now then we could possibly get some picks and a young piece for Lee. If the Knicks could somehow sign 2 max free agents then Lee would be unattainable. As things would stand after these trades we’d have about 16 million on the payroll this summer. That leaves 35-40 million to spend in free agency. 2 max free agents only leaves about 5 million left to play with.

I have a feeling, Lee will be in a sign and trade.

Where on the inside did you hear about Sergio and Law? Nice thought but i have doubts that came from a reputable source.

It is not out of the realm of possibility that the Knicks make the playoffs. It will be extremely tough though because it usually takes time for teams to gel.

I doubt Lee will be in a sign and trade because so many teams will have cap space this summer. Its possible though

Sergio and Law? I heard from a source who’s close to nba rumors and such. He told me Sergio would most likely be the main one out of the two because NY wouldn’t have to give up much (1.8 mil)

David Lee might command 9-12 million in the offseason. He will take the latter i presume but if NY doesn’t wanna pay him- we’ll probably keep his rights and deal him

We no longer have any rights on Lee.

Sergio would be a great pickup but I doubt Sacramento would be willing to give up one of the best backup PG’s in the league for nothing. I havent heard anything of the sort.

An interesting thing I read though was that Golden State is willing to deal pretty much anybody on their team except Curry if they get cash considerations thrown in.
