TRC1991Participantcall me crazy but i can see the nets drafting evan turner 1st over john wall…not saying its a good idea at all, personally i think wall is the cant miss prospect but the nets really need help on the wing, really being an understatement. i know devin harris is solid and i think if he were any worse the nets would draft wall. i think its completely possible for the nets to have a brain fart i.e. letting vanderwhege coach the team and draft evan turner..in turner’s defense he’s the 2nd best prospect coming out so it wouldnt be like them drafting dwayne collins with the 1st pick
three questions for you guys:
1) would it be THAT disastrous to draft turner over wall?
2) what type of player can evan turner be? brandon roy?… or reece gaines? maybe somewhere in between?
3) could you guys see the nets drafting a power forward to take over for the ineffective yi jianlian? could the nets draft derrick favors or one of the other PF’s?

Henry25Participanthaha, I mean I just read an article the other day where every single GM sais they would draft John Wall. He is that damn good. The Nets (if they get the 1st pick) with draft Wall and use Harris as trade bait. Evan Turner is going to be a stud. If he reaches his ceiling I think he can be a Scottie Pippen type player, but John Wall in my opinion has the potential to redefine the point guard position.

DanEboyParticipantWhat would Wall redefine that Paul, Rose, Westbrook, D-Will haven’t? Just curious to know what you mean by that.

balltilifall5ParticipantTrue, it definitely will not happen, but it does make sense for one to have this reasoning. Devin Harris, although having a down year, is one hell of a PG–an allstar last year–but the Nets also have someone in Courtney Lee that is capable of being a starting SG in this league, so why draft Turner when there is no glaring need at SG?

esperanzafleet69Participantwell, theres a 75% chance the nets WONT get the 1st pick… think of it like that.

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantThe team with the highest probability to get the #1 overall pick hardly ever wins the lottery. Also, as a Nets fan, I would much rather have Turner starting instead of Lee. Lee is an inconsistent scorer who offers little outside of perimeter defense when his shot isn’t falling.

quinceyhodgesi dont see it happening…but henry how do you see john wall redefining the pg position?..what can he do that other pg could never do?..i highly doubt he will redefines the position

kurtu17Participantyeah re defining the pg position will be difficult to do…he would have to be a walking tripple double that has to have the post up skills and defense that Gary payton had….the three point shot that steve nash has…and the thief that Isiah thomas has..and be crazy fundamental…if he has all those guy would be on the list of GOAT…but still even if he didnt have all that from wat i hear this guy still has the talent to be the best pg in the nba..

quinceyhodgeshe would have to basically be better then the big O. triple double at the pg position while doing everything else you just said
