TheFutureofthisgameParticipantI know this year the teams who can compete for a Championship are pretty obvious to most basketball fans.(Orlando, Boston, Cavaliers, Lakers) With that being said I was curious to see what everybody’s opinions were on who they think will win it all this year and why they believe that specific team has what it takes to win a championship. In my opinion I think the Lakers will repeat this year. Though they had some bad losses this year to mediocre teams I feel they know how to compete and to win successfully when it comes Playoff time. They have good, talented players(Bynum, Gasol, Artest, Kobe) and a great coach (Phil Jackson)

kurtu17ParticipantI agree…with all that i really think that lakers will end up winning the championship…but im tellin you ppl do not sleep on dallas…with the trades they made their defense and offense got a whole lot better and i bet jason kidd was drooling when he found out this trade happened now..i think they are clear cut the second best team in the west…and if lakers arent healthy and the whole artest thing blows up in their face,( which i dont think will happen because he seems to be on his best behavior and phil knows how to deal with these kinds of players.)…i think they can beat the lakers and win the west…and if orlando beats clevland some how they will win the championship..and thats all ifs…

DanEboyParticipantIf the Lakers stay healthy, I don’t see anyone beating them 4 out of 7. They are a playoff tested veteran team.

RickyRubio9ParticipantTop 2…Lakers & Cavs.
If Healthy, Boston joins the Mix.
If they can put it together, add the Magic…So Much Talent.
Denver are a Notch below all, no real chance of winning it in my mind…Sorry, but they are Good.
Dallas can get up there depending on Caron Butler’s play…
A safe bet would be the Lakers repeat, but things can happen0 - Posted on: Mon, 02/15/2010 - 4:48pm #256649
kurtu17ParticipantI think if you ask anyone outside an nba uniform that lakers will win the championship if healthy…

the I in winParticipantThe Lakers have a very intimidating team but I think Lebron gets his first ring this year. The cavs have played great against the other contender this year and the Lakers are no exception. Sure they are “playing bad” but have they played good this season? I think losing ariza took away their energy, he was huge for them last season especially in the playoffs. If Ron Artest was playing like he did last year in Houston i would say Lakers all the way but Lebron and company are playing with more determination this year.
Also Shaq will have motivation to play which doesn’t happen a whole lot anymore.

TheFutureofthisgameParticipantThe Cavaliers were supposed to win it last year too, they had the best record in the NBA, Lebron got MVP and things were looking really good for the Cavs but they fell apart against the Magic and even tho this year they beat them i believe twice I still feel the Cavaliers in a Playoff atmosphere besides Lebron cannot perform well enough to insure a Championship. Of course they still have a chance and are the best team in the NBA currently I feel Lebron needs more support to win one. The Lakers always step it up in the Playoffs and have enough Talent and Leadership to win it all again.

armanDenver and Dallas…. they have 2 of the 5 best lineups in nba and they have experience…on the east only cavs are really contenders….orlando can beat la if they have 50 % for 3 point…. celtics are veteran team i think that they cannot reach the finals… so my contenders are LA,Cavs,Nuggets,Mavs and maybe Orlando… west is way stronger.. if they played in east both denver and dallas could made to conference finals easy

llpereztop 5
1-lakers
2-magic
3-cavs
4-nuggets
5-bostonHonestly, i would probably remove boston right now, they just are not impressing me and I’m not sure they are in a position to just say “hey, we can turn it on in the playoffs”.
Dallas is intriguing, but i need to see how they look with this most recent trade.
I put magic over cavs because i honestly think, much like last season, that the cavs play pretty close to their peak all year and have little room for improvement during the playoffs. I think Orlando can put it into another gear just like the lakers can, which is why i expect a repeat of the finals.
