parkerjParticipantwhen it was announced, i was really excited to see niagra in Milwaukee, especially after reading the ESPN feature on one of niagra’s players…but after what they did to Siena, that excitement has turned into “oh crap, they’re gonna hang triple digits on us”

knicksfan7ParticipantI am really pumped for the ODU vs. UNI game on Friday and Siena vs. Butler on Saturday Morning, and of course seeing my team, Hofstra play Rider, who has Jason Thompson’s little brother Ryan.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’m going to the Siena and Butler game. I think it’ll be the best game of the bracket busters. I can’t wait to see Ronald Moore from Siena… This would be a big win for Siena and increase their chances of getting into the tournament. I want to see Gordon Hayward take over this game.

knicksfan7ParticipantI am jealous you’re going to that game. I am hoping Siena wins because it would make them a lock for the tournament. I would feel really bad for them if they don’t win the MAAC tournament and miss the big dance b/c of it. That’s why a part of me wants expansion, but 96 is way too many and there isn’t 96 teams worthy of it. Sorry I am getting off topic. Though, Tezo what’s your view on expansion?

JNixonParticipantHayward vs. Ubiles should be a big-time matchup. I think Ubiles gets the best of Hayward and likewise, but end the end Butler wins the game.

IndianaBasketballParticipantToo bad you don’t live in Indianapolis! I have extra tickets. Butler is right down the street, so I catch majority of their games. I think Butler will pull this one out though. I think we can be a Sweet 16 team this season… I’m hoping!
I don’t really have a concrete opinion on expansion just yet. I see it’s pro’s and con’s right now. We’ll have to make this a topic later on down the line.

knicksfan7ParticipantI agree, this will have to be a topic down the line. That’s awesome, maybe I should fly out, lol to see this game. Well, what do you think of Gordon Hayward has a pro prospect??

IndianaBasketballParticipantI wouldn’t be surprised if Ubiles outscores Hayward, but Hayward will have the better all-around game.

JNixonParticipantI wouldn’t be surprised if Ubiles locked him down, he defended Evan Turner great last year in the tourny game. Hasbrook was having a time defending Turner then Ubiles switched to him and played great

IndianaBasketballParticipantMy thoughts on Hayward have been well documented on here lol. I’ve been watching him since he played ball at Brownsburg High School here in Indiana.
I really like him as a pro prospect, but I think he should come out after his junior year. I mean, he’s only 19 and wasn’t one of those kids who came into college wanting to go to the NBA. This is all kind of unexpected to him. He’s a great shooter with perfect mechanics. Great height at 6′ 8″ and still growing. Very good length. He’s 200 lbs right now and has the frame to add more weight and strength. Great IQ and understanding of the game at both ends… Very good court vision. He’s a good ball handler, but he needs to work on his ability to create his own shot. He has good defensive fundamentals and puts in the effort, but he lacks that lateral foot speed to be a great defender. He can get away with defending four’s in college, but he won’t be able to get away with it in the pro’s.
I think a summer of working out like he’s a NBA prospect, working on his ball handling, getting stronger and tightening up his D could make him a late lottery to mid first round pick next season. I’m not comparing him to him, but I think he could be in the Gallinari mold.

knicksfan7ParticipantIt is always something when a player from a mid-major conference comes out early I consider it a stretch though he has proven a lot in his first 2 years at Butler.

IndianaBasketballParticipantUbiles plays very good on the ball defense, but I think Hayward shoots and moves without the ball too well for Ubiles to shut him down. Even if he locks him up on D, Hayward will find other ways to be effective. He has no problem going to his teammates or just doing the little things to get a win.

knicksfan7ParticipantWhy is the Butler game starting at 11AM, that is soooo freakin early. Is there a reason why???

IndianaBasketballParticipantI have no idea lol. Just the way they scheduled it I guess.

knicksfan7ParticipantAs a current college student if there was a game scheduled at 11am on a Saturday, I would have the hardest time getting there on time, though I would get there. So many fans will be hungover.
