I just wanted to take a look at guys that could be future number 1 picks in future drafts.

2011 – Hassan Whiteside, Harrison Barnes Edit: Perry Jones
2012 – Michael Gilchrist, Austin Rivers, James McAdoo
2013 – DaJuan Coleman, Andre Drummond

If Hassan Whitside were to stay back at college for another year, he’d most likely would be the number one pick. He has potential to become the next great bigman and could really be a force in the NBA defensively.

Michael Gilchrist has all the physical tools you look for in a wing player. To go along with a high basketball IQ and intangables could make him a very special player

Who do you guys think could be potential number one picks in future drafts and can anybody shed some light on guys like Austin Rivers, James McAdoo and DaJuan Coleman. That would be great!

That might be a stretch…He has a chance to be a very good big men..but next great? Doubt it. Andre Drummond seems like a better pick for next great big men IMO.

Dajuan Coleman probably wont be a number 1 pick. He seems to be more of a Josh Smith (HS one) or Jared Sullinger type of player with a lower ceiling of someone like Andre. Andre is a legit 6,10-6,11 and will probably grow. Great athlete and strong. Solid offensive game, but lets be honest he’s only a sophomore in HS so his offensive game is mostly putbacks.

Harrison Barnes is special. So is Micheal. Both can be number 1 picks. Everyone else you listed is top-5 pick good. Just not number 1 pick special. Maybe Perry Jones, but he’s a project compared to Harrison or even Micheal.

I posted something about him last week, this kid is a man-child, big and strong, and hes got a bit of a mean streak in him on the court, but like gregoden said hes only a sophmore right now and althought hes putting up some monster numbers this year, lets face it, in central new york he isnt exactly facing top tier division 1 talent, with that being said hes already a good 6-9 250+ and hes only 15, by his senior year he could be pushing the 7 foot mark and after he leaves Syracuse(hopefully) after his freshmen or sophmore year the NBA could be looking at a legit 7 footer with a frame like a young shaq( im not saying hes going to be shaq im just saying thats the way hes built), but i think he has legit shot at being the number 1 pick.

yeah i agree..everyone has the potential to be number one but none is a clear cut or even special right now

perry jones-Against Bellaire (Texas Jamboree) he had two points at halftime and finished the game with 9 points and 4 fouls….

but lately he has been stepping it up putting up 15 and 11 now

I seen DeJuan Coleman play…He will be talked about as the #1 pick in the he’s going to enter. He has some good upside as well. GregOden08- WTF are you talking about

I don’t think Perry Jones will be the #1 pick and at best he will be a top 5 because I don’t see him being constant every game in NCAA’s

Andre Drummond has the profile of a #1 pick more so than anyone on this list. Its early, but Drummond has established himself as a premier NBA prospect. His added weight has done less to curtail his athleticism than say, Greg Monroe. He’s too physically dominant and athletic for anyone is high school to shut him down. As a matter of fact, NBA draft.net already did an article on this.

I would just like to say that I am extremely impressed with Austin Rivers. 6’3″ ~180, and a picture perfect offensive repertoire, he next to unstoppable attacking the basket and doesnt need a lot of space to get his shot off. Reminds me of a more PG oriented OJ Mayo. Good but not elite NBA athleticism, but his skills will make him a star. Barnes is too good for high school at this point, and really needs college to elevate his game, especially facing the competion in Iowa. Gilchrist may have the physical profile, but his ball handling and overall shot making ability need to improve for him to be a #1 pick… still time for him to learn but I really like Austin Rivers over Gilchrist AT THIS POINT!

key word highschool…im not saying andre isnt good, ive watched 2 of his games and he was very very good but this is hs. with big men more then guards you gotta see what they do in college because they rarely go against anyone near there size in hs. to be honest i think out of all of them austin will be the most ready to step into college and do work from day one although the other guys will probably get picked higher because of potential

    brandon knight

he was gatorade player of the year last year on his junior year, if he get the gatorade player of the year again this year on his senior year thats awesome. only 2 players did that, lebron and oden and both pick number 1 overall in the nba draft. i dont know why knight was very underated to you guys, he rank #1 in rivals and he was the best last year on his class, maybe the reason why you dont like him is because his not as athletic as rose and wall, but hes a complete player. he can bully small pg, he can shot anywhere on the court, i see deron williams on his game (a big bully pg who can shot outside and excelent defender)

yeah knight is a very very good player. at first i didnt think he should have gotten gatorade player of the year last year but then i found out that its a mixture of on the court and grades and not just on the court talent and he had a 3.5 or 4.0 so i can see how he got it.
