valentinesince it seems the celtics are thinking of getting rid of ray how about they trade ray and there first pick to the kings for kevin marin and fransico or andrea if the salaries work out and if the kings want to get rid of martin. keep in mind this is if they cant get anything better for martin. it gives the kings another pick in the draft a sg who would play second fiddle to evans who can also shoot. the celtics get younger and better at the same time……what do you all think?

SlimParticipantsacramento’s problem is really rebounding
they need some big men rebounding

SwatLakeCityParticipantIf this trade happens, Evans would have to play the point, which is not really his position. He is more of a 2 than a 1. What the Kings need is a 3 or a 1. But it is not a bad idea. It would give the Kings a veteran wing player, maybe provide some leadership to a young team. The Celts, I don’t know if Martin would mesh with Garnett, Rondo, and Pierce. Does not play enough defense, all about offense.

quinceyhodgesi agree they need a big man but i doubt they will be able to get one whos better then hawes at this point. the ones who are better are free agents and i dont think the kings would risk getting them knowing they will probably leave the next year

SlimParticipant2011 Kendrick Perkins, Dalembert and Okafor are all free agents I think
plus you never know if they end up back in lottery who they can draft and develop

llperezi think the kings would be very open to trading KMart. But they are not gonna give him up for cap space and a late first round pick. Martin’s contract of 10 mill a year is really not that bad, so it’s not like the team needs to get rid of him. KMart can help a lot of teams in this league, and i don’t think a late first round pick is the best the kings could get for him.

quinceyhodgesi would think the same but we have seen that even if someone is worth more trade value, they still end up being in a lopsided trade. i actually dont think he will get traded since he’s not in his last year of his contract

TheFactionCoalition.comParticipantI’ve said this a lot, Martin won’t get traded for salary relief. There is too much potential in a Martin/Evans backcourt. They’ll give it at least the rest of the season. Then maybe they trade Martin in a sign and trade for a PF (JT is HORRIBLE) or C. I love Kendrick Perkins if you have a back court of Martin and Evans…and to the guy that said them getting Allen (not that I want him) would mean Tyreke plays pg, what do you think he plays while Martins on the team? The whole reason to get Allen would be his expiring contract.
They won’t trade Martin until they know they can get a FA. Also Petrie will get another good pick in a very solid draft. There is a lot of potential in this draft and I trust Petrie as much as any other GM to make the right pick.0 - AuthorPosts
