DanEboyParticipantI heard Stern basically faxed over a photocopy of his middle finger to the players union. This is going to be interesting.

llperezit’s obvious the players are gonna have to take a few hits on this next deal, but from what i hear, the nba is trying to bend them over pretty bad. if they have a lock out, i’ll be pissed.

NashyMingParticipantThe economy is not going well, a lot of NBA teams are losing money like crazy. That’s why you see the Bobcats, the Wizards and the Pistons are looking for new owners. Running an NBA team becomes a very expensive hobby instead of a business. When the owners are not making money on their other businesses, how could they afford to run a team.
The salary of players are too high to be sustaintable. I certainly think they should lower the salary cap and maximum contract, but the proposal is pretty crazy. The lockout seems to be inevitable, and I just hope it won’t last too long.

tonyl33ParticipantThis is about bad business decision. If you make a bad decision on giving a play a max deal and they become a bust, that’s on your managment team for giving them so much money. Don’t offer what you can’t gaurentee. Maybe they should put somewhere in the contract that if, a player doesn’t perform to a certian level of expectation, they should get so an so. You can’t screw the superstars of this league because other teams are paying players like; Redd, E. Curry, A. Harrington, S. Dalembert, K. Kolver, and AK 47, all getting paid over 10 Mill. Those francise made those moves and they should be accountable for their losses. These player should be getting paid over 10 mill and if your GM made that decision, that sucks for you.

armanthey all should go to europe…. i think that would teach stern a lection……in europe there isnt salary cap it is all about owner…and i believe that there are some crazy teams that can offer like 40- 50 m per year…. this is just what i think but it isnt all about money…. nba is the strongest league and have the best competetiors… that is what keeps up guy like lebron, wade, melo etc.
