WHY DO YA’LL MAKE SO MANY UNREALISTIC COMPARISONS????

People wouldn’t be talking about the draft as much if all everyone compared people to were the average of RISK/ REWARD.

For example, If I said… Gerald Green Will be Darius Miles (because balancing out risk/reward), people wouldn’t be as excited as if I said… “Gerald Green COULD be the Next TMAC!!!!”

As for the actual comparisons

I would actually put more value into a comparison where they talk about dribble heights, tendency, NOT ability to get in the lane, how hard they set screen, things like that than someone saying Player A will put up Vince Carter Numbers in a few years.

That’s purely hypothetical. Shot release and stuff like that is NOT. 90% of players keep the same shot mechanics (maybe tweek them)

Also, a lot of people give the BEST/WORST scenarios. That’s better, but I think people should just compare facets of player’s games such as

Cole Aldrich:
J looks like Camby’s
Decent motor like Marc Gasol
Great timing on defense like Pryzbilla (early years, he’s the boss at that right now)
Throws pretty accurate outlet passes like Kevin Love

you know…. stuff like that. I can read stats too, but I want people to actually watch a few games before making a comment about Player A and compare him to D-Wade.

I like to watch player and just compare them with who has a similar game.

To me comparisons aren’t predictions of sucess/failure.

I compare Avery Bradley to Shannon Brown, because they have similar styles/tendencies, but I’m pretty sure he will be a better player than Brown.

The Argument:
“Oh College Player A is playing better than NBA Player B when he was at college and they’re the same size/ athleticism. That must mean College Player A will at least be as good as NBA player B.”

That’s a bunch of crap.

And yes, a lot of people on this site use that argument.

for one i talked to someone who’s at every game so you were obviously wrong about the boozer thing. 2 i could care less about points. i dont add nor subtract from people since ive made a new thing. so i obviously could care less about points. you should do the same
