nateoak10ParticipantI was thinking, I don’t like the Roy comparison since Turner doesn’t have his shot but is a better rebounder. I like the Pippen comparison but what about Iggy? Except less athletic. Rebounds passes and scores very well, big enough to play the 3 and play it extremely well. Neither have a great shot either but both can be a point forward. Just a thought

butidonthavemoneyNo matter what, you are going to say “except”…
Pippin was more athletic, taller, longer and had better range.
Roy and Johnson have better range.
Iguodala is more athletic. You can’t find a perfect comparison. I think the best comparison is a Roy/Johnson type with less range.

GrandmamaParticipantHe’s a mix of Penny and Grant Hill.

butidonthavemoneyUncle Bucksh0t – That’s a pretty good comparison too.

JNixonParticipantHe doesn’t defend like Iguodala can and has. Athleticism is a big part of Iguodala’s game, so him being like a less athletic Iguodala is taking away from the comparison. Brandon Roy is my comparison for Turner.

BlazermannParticipantthe afernee comparison and people dont give enuff credit for his athleticism give him lane and he’ll dunk on u and he’s big and long and quick and most people come in the league wit limited range to and i think he’s a point in the league or can play alot of it

IndianaBasketballParticipantI also like the Penny comparison. He reminds me more of B. Roy though. I remember when Roy came into the league… They didn’t know if he’d be a point or play off guard.

quinceyhodgesi say grant hill( the one playing now) untill proven other wise. i just cant compare him to future all stars especially when chances are higher that he wont be a star then him actuallybecoming a star

Russell0WestbrookParticipantyoung grant hill with the all around game and great midrange game also they are about the same athletes also and play about the same type of defense. QHodges why are you hating this guy is beteer than the suns grant hill now do you even watch him play?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 02/10/2010 - 2:01pm #254727
quinceyhodgesmaybe because history has shown that all these guys arent gonna become superstars. look at the past 10 or even more years and see how many end up becoming stars ?…according to some of ya’ll this draft class will have at least 5 hall of famers. how you figure hes better then hill right now because he does what he does against college guys?..also he doesnt have the same defense that hill had. hill was one of the top defenders in college basketball. turner isnt. this must be one of the best draft in history sinc ei see comparisions to
rose
amare
zach randoplh
penny
brook lopezchances are alot high that most of these guys will be like
tyrus thomas
david lee
kendrick perkins
brenden haywood
mike conleyits not hating its looking at history and being realistic and alot of these comparisions just arent realistic. i can understand the people saying maybe but the ones who are for sure thats how these guys will turn out are delusional

JoeWolf1Quincey does have a point of people making pretty crazy comparisons. Thats why I’m a fan of the best case/worst case ranking comparisons. It kind of puts unrealistic comparisons in check because you just sound ingnorant to say best case Michael Jordan worst case Corey Benjamin because the middle is just too vast. I think Evan Turner is a best case Grant Hill worst case Corey Brewer.

Russell0WestbrookParticipanthandles and rebounds too good to ever be brewer they dont even play the same at worse iggy and at best young grant hill

quinceyhodgesat worst iggy?….lol..you are a unrealistic person. he could be much worst just liek all the other players. there arew no sure things in college basketball ( wall being the closest in some peoples opinion) which is why his worst could be much worst

JoeWolf1Brewer was playing on those stacked Florida teams and didn’t have to do nearly as much as Turner. Noah and Horford were killing on the glass and Brewer in college averaged about 5 rbs and 3 assists his Jr. year in about 7 less minutes per game than Turner. Brewer is averaging about 13 points 4 rbs and 2 assists in his 3rd year after a slow start, they are both tall shooting guard/small forwards who can do a little bit of everything and have about the same range. I don’t see how that is a worse worst case scenario than a guy who averages 17 points 7 rbs and 6 assists and averaged 20 points a game in his 4th year.
