This is how I’m projecting the 2026 cycle to go due to NILs… I’m sure it’s going to change drastically as the draft cycle progresses. I’m sure there’s other guys I could have included, but this is what I’ve got so far at least on the first big board in tiers.

I’d bet on these guys returning as of now, but that’s subject to change over the course of the season. I haven’t checked out every single guy on this list yet at least through a draft lens especially, but so far, they’re at least on the radar.

I guess Sebastian Mack should be on the second list in the same tier 12…

The need for a borderline prospect to declare when their stock is high has been transformed with NIL deals. PJ Haggerty and Solo Ball could have another two very lucrative seasons in the NCAA for example.

Your big board always reads well as draft ranges for me giving a great idea where you have the prospects pegged.

You have literally got the biggest guy in the basketball world at the bottom of your 2nd list which amused me.

Nice early board. Its always cool to see one of the names on yout deeper tiers emerge as a top prospect. I wonder who its gonna be this year.

Where would you have Alijah Arenas and Maleek Thomas (Arkansas) ranked? Maleek is one of my favorite players in this class and I think Coach Cal is goiong to bring out the best in him.

The devopment of Yaxel Lendebord is going to be very interesting. What type of player will he be is after recieving correct nutrition, strength training routine, elite coaching and media training. He reminds me of Pascal Siakam. A player with that skillset should still go high in the draft, how high is the question.

Meleek Thomas made my first list in tier 6… that’s around a first round pick. Arenas I have as a fringe first round pick at tier 7 and since he’s an underclassman in that tier it’s that fringe range… (Arenas is on the second list)

Mikel Brown has one of the purest shots I’ve ever seen. The best shooters you know we always say they never hit rim or nothing but net. But then that next tier of shooters dont even hit net, like Dirk Nowitzki. The shot goes in so accurate the net stays still. Hes got that kind of control on his shot. Also a fantastic athlete and hes gotta be taller than 6’3.

The jump shot is real! I mean it really is up there with the best looking shot. He’s been absolutely crushing it in the U19s.

Yaxel would be a first round pick in my mind if he has a solid year with Michigan. Of the returning bigs I’d only have Quaintance and Thiam definitely above him. Condon and JT Toppin, I’d have at about the same level as Yaxel but I like Yaxel’s all round game better.

Other upside returning bigs could have a breakout year and get ahead of Yaxel but who that could be would be just throwing names about.

My list currently as a big board/early mock top 30 would be :-

    AJ Dybansta
    Darryn Peterson
    Cameron Boozer
    Nate Ament
    Jayden Quaintance
    Dash Daniels
    Moustapha Thiam
    Chris Cenac Jnr
    Mikel Brown Jnr
    Alijah Arenas
    Caleb Wilson
    Dame Sarr
    Karim Lopez
    Koa Peat
    Yaxel Lendeborg
    JT Toppin
    Tahaad Pettiford
    Solo Ball
    Alex Condon
    Labaron Philon
    Aday Mara
    Braden Smith
    Alex Karaban
    Flory Bidunga
    Braylon Mullins
    Tounde Yessoufou
    Boogie Fland
    Motiejus Krivas

Here are some names to follow going into next year:
Abdi Bashir, Kansas State Jr. and Abdul Bashir, Auburn Jr.
Twin brothers, and 6’7” gunners. Abdi is transferring to Kansas State from Monmouth where he averaged 20.1 PPG and led the nation in 3-pointers made per game and shot 38% on 463 attempts. Abdul comes the juco ranks where he averaged 27.2 PPG and shot 37% from three on 356 attempts. With Auburn always giving gunners a green light, I would expect him to be quite comfortable. With Pettiford and Keyshawn Hall, I’m not sure he will get the volume of his brother, but the league loves those wings with length who can shoot.
Naas Cunningham, UNLV So. and Kimani Hamilton, UNLV Sr.
After two years off the bench, it is easy to forget that Josh Pastner teams have an almost Calipari-esque quality of the whole being less than the sum of its parts. Still, he has assembled an impressive roster at UNLV. Naas Cunningham was regarded as a one-and-done candidate entering last year. He is 6’7”, athletic, regarded as someone who can shoot, and thin as a rail. He redshirted to try to gain weight. Will Riley and Cody Williams went in the 1st despite being remarkably slight, so it is not necessarily a deal-breaker for some teams. Kimani Hamilton is an athletic three-level scorer who is 6’8” and a reported/supposed 6’11” wingspan who is transferring in from High Point. If UNLV’s season goes well, he fits the profile of the guy teams want to give a chance.
Fedor Zugic, Creighton Jr. Jackson McAndrew, Creighton So. and Blake Harper, Creighton So.
At some point, I will figure out how the NCAA goes through the eligibility status of guys who have played pro level ball in Europe. They jerk some guys around, and others just get waived through. Zugic missed the first twelve games last year, and never seemed to find a rhythm or place in the rotation. It was reported the NCAA was questioning his eligibility again, but cleared him for two more years this week. He can shoot, create, is 6’6”, and seems to be able to be a full member of the squad. I would think he is set for a breakout year. Similarly, Jackson McAndrew would be the other returnee who seems destined for a big year. He had a similar first year to Alex Karaban as a big forward who can really shoot it, and like Karaban should expand his offensive game as a sophomore. At 6’10” with a big wingspan, if he can show an ability to put it on the floor off close outs and score at multiple levels, the NBA will be interested. Blake Harper is the wildcard transfer. He transfers in from Howard, but is a 6’8” point forward who was MEAC Player of the Year as a freshman after losing 30 lbs from the time he stepped on campus, and was unable to pass the conditioning test, to the end of the season when he was a star. He averaged 19.6 PPG (45/40/82 splits), 6.2 rebounds, and 3.4 assists. The MEAC to the Big East is a huge leap in quality, but had 16-4-3 against Kansas, 23-10-1 against Cincy, and 16-6-3 against Yale. He was 1-9 for 7-8-4 against Missouri, but there were more good games than bad against the better opposition. If his new body and conditioning holds, he has the size, shooting, and versatility to be big sophomore riser in the draft. Creighton has a lot of guys who can shoot, so he is going to be a big body with space to create. It isn’t a guarantee to work, but it is a formula that makes sense. It goes without saying that I am quite intrigued by how Creighton might come together. Battling UConn and St. John’s for the top of the Big East won’t be easy, but there is a path to them being really good.
    Trent Burns, Missouri RS Fr.
It is a simple formula for Burns to break out. He is 7’5” and every report out of Missouri about him claims that he can shoot the three. He had a foot injury that led to him redshirting, but should have a chance to see the floor this year. With the other options at center being Arizona State transfer Shawn Phillips and Oklahoma transfer Luke Northweather, he does not have an especially proven big minute alternative to block him from getting a chance. I would not expect him to get big minutes, but could be this year’s Magoon Gwath only taller. He might not be a 2026 candidate, but a man his size who theoretically can stick a three might not need a ton of minutes to get an NBA team to tell him to make the jump.
    Josh Clark, Marquette RS Fr.
While not as tall as Burns, Clark is 7’1” with a reported 7’5” wingspan and spent his freshman year trying to gain weight. At the end of the season, he said he was up to 232 lbs and had a goal of getting to 245 lbs. Marquette is a good developmental program, and Clark will have Ben Gold ahead of him to make it so that he will get brought along off the bench. It would be a safer bet to consider him as a 2027 breakout, but guys that big cannot be hidden so I will include him.
    Gabriel Pozzato, Xavier So.
The Italian who moved to Australia to be a part of the NBA Global Academy there had a fantastic season at Evansville. He is 6’7” pretty athletic, plays an American-style game, and can shoot. The Missouri Valley is typically an older league that is tough on freshmen, so it isn’t a shock that new coach Richard Pitino raided the All-Freshman League team to get Pozzato and All Wright from Valpo (the only two freshmen to average double digits in the league). I sense Xavier will be too small to be a factor in the Big East, but do think Pozzato can play his way into draft consideration.
Sananda Fru, Louisville Fr. Johann Grünloh, Virginia Fr. and Elias Rapieque, Kansas State Fr.
Enter the Germans. Sananda Fru is 6’11” and according to Pat Kelsey has a 7’4” wingspan. He was a full-time starter at Braunschweig last year, and has more than 2,000 minutes pro level minutes on his resume. Over the final 18 games of his year, he averaged 13.7 PPG on 67% from the floor (was also 7-16 from three), 8.3 rebounds, and 1.8 blocks per game. He is getting good quickly. Aly Khalifa has been deemed eligible, and has reportedly lost 50 lbs, but even at a lighter weight I do not think his knees will have him dominate all the center minutes. With Fru’s length, athleticism, and proven record of being an effective big man, I think he can make a name for himself, though given that he will be 22 next draft might not be the biggest of risers. Johann Grünloh is long, 6’11” can protect the rim, catch lobs, crash the glass, and hit an open three. I think his decision to go to college was smart, because his body needs time to mature. With his style of play, he probably would have been drafted, but then the clock starts running with him probably not being physically read to see the floor. I think another year, and one in an American weight program, will do him well. Virginia has a good looking roster with him, Malik Thomas, Thijs De Ritter, Jacari White, Sam Lewis, Dallin Hall, Devin Tillis, and Ugonna Onyenso. They are going to play differently. It will faster and feature a lot of threes (Ryan Odom’s VCU team took 48% of its field goal attempts from behind the arc). If the team comes together as well as I think is possible, Grünloh could win over a lot of fans. Elias Rapieque is not PJ Haggerty or even Abdi Bashir, but is a big man with skills on a team that lacks size. Alba Berlin was able to get him nearly 800 minutes last year between the Bundesliga and Euroleague. While he has the least to go on of the three, I think he is going to be effective as a creator, finisher, and rebounder. If his shot becomes consistent, and it is a nice looking shot, then he is another versatile 6’8” prospect.
    Matas Vokietaitis, Texas So.
He really came along nicely down the stretch for Florida Atlantic. When they put him back in the starting lineup with 6 games to go, he averaged 16 points and 7 rebounds with 11 blocks over that span. He is a 7-footer with good hands, finishes well inside, crashes the glass, and protects the rim. I wonder if Texas is going to be good enough for him to really be seen, but has the type of game that should translate well in new surroundings.
    Jadon Jones, Oklahoma 6th
Jones is a classic 3-and-D wing. He is 6’5” with a long wingspan who won Defensive Player of the Year in the Big West while at Long Beach State while shooting 38% from three. He missed last year with a back injury, but has one more year. The 6th year aspect still makes it hard to know how much draft interest he can garner, though John Tonje was taken this summer.

Some of those guys I mentioned, but you elaborate on your watch list quite well… I didn’t know what to do with Trent Burns, it will be interesting to see how he does though. He has the tools obviously. (I didn’t include him). Bringing him up makes me second guess whether I should have left him off… Maybe I could move Fru up too, he has such a great situation to go with his measurements and experience… Those are some great calls btw BTPH.

Trent Burns like Daniel Jacobsen and Olivier Rioux will need to be bought along slowly. Guys of that height may only be used in certain match ups and we’ll need to see how well they can run the court. But with their size a 3 point shot would almost be an open shot given their release height as it was for Wemby.

Its very interesting that a player like Trent Burns decided to play at Missouri in the toughest conference. Dennis Gates runs a very tight rotation and disciplined system, its very rare he gives minutes to players that are not upperclassmen.

These large Centers like Thiam, Gwath, Rioux amd Burns really have less to develop in terms of skill and more so should be focused on doing it the way Edey did by working on flexibility, lateral quickness, core strength, balance and I feel the best way to do that is by joining a program with a longterm plan and commitment to helping in these areas. Purdue’ been the goat school at this. Thats why I am not a big fan of Thiam leaving UC, I mean maybe they werent meeting his needs although bouncing around from school to school as a BIG bigman seems like an entire change of plans.

Back to my point with Burns it seems possible that Dennis Gates may find it difficult to find him enough minutes to allow Burns to produce at a level high enough where he can either enter the draft or cash out on a NIL deal and if that happens he may end up transferring to a situation where he can earn those minutes. Hopefully Burns is patient and stays put allowing Missouri’s plans forhim to unfold.

Jacobsen is in a good situation with Purdue as they gave Edey time to develop. Jacobsen was in rotation early on until he got injured and he hasn’t used up a year of his eligibility either. He’s not likely to be a starter for Purdue but he can get decent minutes in Matt Painter’s line ups next season and take on more minutes over the next few seasons.

Olivier Rioux is at the NCAA Champions so hopefully he is in a good situation too.

I guess it is up to Trent Burns to try to get into Dennis Gates’ rotation. Even if he isn’t a regular surely there will be match upsa where they use him as a defensive blocker or a lop threat on offence. There will be garbage minutes for him to play too. But like Jacobsen and Rioux he hasn’t used up any eligibility so has time to develop.

I noticed there is another huge kid Jeremy Gohier who is 7ft 6ins and only 15 years old. Like Rioux and Edey he is Canadian. So if they all pan out Canada could have a huge frontcourt.

Purdue recruited Oscar Cluff this year so minutes will be hard to come by for Jacobsen next year. He’s a below the rim skilled big man that played for South Dakota St. last year. I watched a few of his games last year and think he is going to surprise alot of people especially when he is playing with a PG like Braden Smith.

Cluff is 24 this year so has a lot of experience already. He had good stats last year and has a 3 point range when he occasionally uses it. As the 3rd option behind Smith and TKR he’ll get his share of shots and Purdue’s front court could be a match up nightmare with TKR and Cluff as a very strong duo and then with Jacobsen’s super size to slot in.

Cluff has been signed to help Smith and TKR give the team a real shot of going deep in March Madness. Jacobsen will be a bench guy but I think he’ll get some minutes and help him to continue developing. I don’t consider him as a draft prospect for 2026 so he has at least another 2 years in college IMO.

How long does Tyran Stokes have to reclassify? It would really be a shame if he didnt, he could play in the NBA today and be an impact player.

That’s a good question, the best answer I got wasn’t definitive… but it’s August going by different sources… There is no universal deadline to reclassify either, it depends on the area that they live in. Different rules for different schools – you know it, I’m a poet! Anyways, a player would need to finalize reclassification before the academic year.

I just have the feeling the longer time has gone on the less likely Tyran is to reclassify or did he have to wait until he had finished HS which was May I’d guess.

If he was considering going to college this year wouldn’t he have made visits or got provisional offers given his potential. There would have been very lucrative NIL deals on the table for a potential top 5 guy next year.

I want him to resclassify to give us a stronger draft class. His upside is he could be a top 3 pick, his downside would be to have a 2nd year in college if he wasn’t inside the top 10 for any reason.

He kinda has to reclassify. He’s way too good for the HS level and hes probably too good for the college level as well. Hes already developed physically, hes athletic, can shoot and pass and plays with intensity. The longer he spends outside of the NBA the less time for him to earn NBA money and the more risk forinjury or wear and tear. Makes no sense for him to stay in HS.

I don’t think Olivier Rioux will get into the Florida rotation. They return Rueben Chinyelu, Micah Handlogten, and then Condon and Haugh at the 4. While I am more of the belief that Florida was more carried by Clayton than a typically loaded title team, I think there is enough up front where they will rush Rioux. I think 11 fouls in 53 minutes at a U19 tournament is telling of how much he has to adapt to the speed of the game.

Daniel Jacobsen is someone I think will have a role similar to Edey as a freshman. He will be behind Cluff and Trey Kaufman-Renn, but is not so raw that they cannot put him out there at all. The challenge is that they should have title aspirations. Smith and Loyer are returning having been starters for three years. Kaufman-Renn has been a starter the past two. Adding Cluff to the mix is a necessary sweetener.

Where I think Burns has a chance is that I think with how they had Mark Mitchell play inside, they would want a center capable of stepping outside. It should favor Burns and Northweather (who has taken 80 of his 105 field goal attempts from behind the arc over two years). It is likely to be a mix-and-match among the three guys, but his situation is such where his opportunity to take minutes is the best.

The Louisville frontcourt is an interesting contrast of styles. Khalifa is someone who can get them into their offense when the opposing team’s guards are menaces on the ball. Having a passing center is such an asset to limiting that aspect of the game because big men don’t pressure the ball. Fru has great length and athleticism who is an obvious lob threat. He’s pair well with Kasean Pryor who also has plus length and athleticism at the 4. With Mikel Brown, Ryan Conwell, J’Vonne Hadley, Isaac McNeeley, Adrian Wooley, and Kobe Rodgers, it is a pretty proven team with a lot of shooting, athleticism, and then the star potential of Brown. The hard part is that none of them have played together before. Pryor, Rodgers, and Khalifa were hurt last year, so even though they are technically returnees it lacks overall familiarity.

It is an impressive roster, but Florida returned six guys from its 2023-24 rotation to 2024-25, and Walter Clayton made a leap. Incorporating a few guys is so much easier than a whole roster, but Louisville might be able to make it work.

Rioux is such a huge size that him making the NBA is probably doubtful. But he could be a very useful guy to have on the roster for marketing reasons due to his height. Have him meet the fans, doing press and personal appearances etc. He’d be like the last guy Coach K coached at Duke who moved teams recently but was most famous for playing his saxophone.

Florida can give him good training and development programme so if they can get anything out of him it would be a bonus.

Jacobsen had got minutes before he was injured early last season. Purdue bought Edey along steadily and can do likewise with Jacobsen who has been getting good minutes for Team USA U19 so he should do likewise with Purdue even if he isn’t in the starting 5. Jacobsen being in Purdue’s 8 to 10 man rotation and staying sound should be his goals for this season.

Then he can get a starting role in 26/27

Would you be okay with your Suns using a roster spot on Rioux? If owners want money it does make sense, look at how Tacko Fall did with Boston and Bronny James with LA. Problem is those two players are way better than Olivier. Even at the U-19’s level for Canada he can barely get on the floor. Maybe he will be able to have a decent career out in China as somwhat of a spectacle.

I think Rioux is a long way off the NBA but if we had him in the D-League affiliate or our Summer League team we’d give him a shot. But guys of that height rarely make it into the NBA.

I don’t know what the Canadian Leagues standard is like but that would seem a natural landing spot for him long term.

I wouldn’t want him to be a sideshow for Florida but if he wasn’t in rotation he could certainly be used for publicity, signings etc. On something like Cameo doing messages as the tallest basketball player he’d have a nice sideline.

Tacko has continued his career in both China and New Zealand so he has carved out a career in the sport. But Tacko was a regular for his college before he joined Boston.

Rioux has four years to develop. I don’t know how good he can ultimately get, but there is no shame in a guy that large taking 4-5 years to become a decent college player. Jamarion Sharp did not have the best of college careers, but he wasn’t especially good in his two years at juco. By year 5, he could hold onto a rotation spot at Mississippi. He then held onto a G-League spot this season. If he takes another step forward, he might be one of those guys who gets a two-way next January when teams starts rotating who they want in those slots. Jesse Edwards grew by leaps and bounds over his 5 years, and held onto a two-way spot this past year. It would not be surprising if Rioux doesn’t get regular minutes until 2027-28 when he would be a redshirt junior, but Florida does not seem to be put off by where he is at. It is possible they brought him in believing they would invest five years in him to get a 7’9″ option for play for two years. If his coordination, movement, and processing improve to where he can play a role in college, then some team will get him into their G-League setup to continue working with him. That is still a big if as guys that size have so many things can go wrong with their bodies to where it just never happens.

I agree with you fully BTPH, Rioux even Jacobsen can play another 4 years in the NCAA if they wish. Guys that size are a useful weapon to have and can be slotted in where required. Jacobsen will be in rotation this year but i could see Rioux taking longer. He’d only be 23/24 when he left college so Florida can give him time and improve his co-ordination, stamina etc.

There may even be certain points in a game where his insane size is useful. Imagine the opposition has an inbound ball with a few seconds left. Like when T-Mac went for 13 points in 35 seconds vs the Spurs and Yao was put in front of the guy with the inbound ball. Rioux with that wingspan stood in front of a player would be in the least off putting.

Good to hear that Jamarion Sharp is making a go of it in the G-League.

Didn’t want to post a topic about it, but should be mentioned imo; Some big names have shifted in the NBA media world… the Barlowe brothers are back at Draft Junkies, meanwhile NBA BigBoards has now teamed up with No Ceilings… should be interesting. Different shake up there playing musical chairs. Anyways, this should be a fantastic cycle for the draft!

And now Keandre., the Hoop Intellect guy has accepted an offer from a team and isn’t posting up draft content draft content now… I’m going to miss those scouting reports, but kudos to him!

I know it’s not near this draft class, but if you haven’t checked out Jeremy Gohier, he’s a true freak worth checking out… he’s only 14 years old and is 7’6″ with some mobility.

I’d noticed Jeremy was listed as a long term prospect on NBA Draft Room’s site. Canada could have a pretty big frontcourt with him, Oliver Rioux and Zach Edey in a few years time.

I’m itchin’ for this college season to start… Eurobasket is fun, but it’s short lived and not the same.
Anyways, love to see some other boards out there if anyone’s got one.

The more I watch video of Elyjah Freeman… the more I think I owe this guy and apology from where I have him ranked last… Expect this guy to skyrocket next board of mine. He’s a D2 transfer but looks legit. Good quickness and ability to change gears, good athlete, good feel… Idk I think he might break out. I didn’t watch any of him before, just heard I need to take a look and got to admit… for a D2 prospect I’m impressed.

Karim Lopez started in his first NBL game of the season today/yesterday. He had 6 points, 5 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 block, and 1 steal. The game is on youtube.

The day prior Dash Daniels debuted with Melbourne. He played 9 minutes with 2 points and 2 rebounds.

I’m hearing some rave reviews as far as Purdue practices that Jack Benter has been hoopin’… I’ve got him circled but don’t have an idea where to put him yet. Wonder what his role would be on that team too… probably a solid rotational player… Got to check out his videos in the future once there’s footage of him this year.

Benter and Jacobsen could be a long term duo for Purdue over the next few seasons. They have two of the top college players in TKR and Braden Smith plus Oscar Cluff is an excellent transfer signing too. So if there is emerging younger talent too they could be a team to go deep in the tournament.

Yup, in fact most people have Purdue top of the Big Ten. I’m sticking with Illinois though it’s going to be a barn burner of a race in that Conference. There are still some people who believe Purdue will win it all…

This season is going to be one of the best chances Purdue get going forward and post Edey. Oscar Cluff I like as an edition and he is beginning to develop his 3 point range and with TKR they will have one of the best starting frontcourts in the NCAA. Jacobsen is the X Factor on the team and if he can stay sound and contribute then that could be a possible difference maker in key games.

they do have a solid frontcourt… I like Illinois a little more and Kentucky’s about the same.

Looks like Mikka Muurinen from Finland is aiming for the 2026 draft… He held his own as a youngster in Eurobasket and I think would go pretty high.

    A little late here, but looks like Muurinen is sticking with 2027 after all… anywho, figured I’d drop my latest big board. After this board I’m cutting it down to 100 prospects whom I think will enter at that point of the big board time. By then exhibitions will be at least played and we can get a feel of who’s more ready than who, etc. So without further due, the latest doesn’t have too many changes, but here it is;

Damn… I should move Dwayne Aristode up a tier… the kid is going to be good. He can work on some things, but has a real good feel for the game overall, possesses great size and does a little bit of everything.

Great big board as always. Chris Cenac may be a bit lower than most consensus drafts but I have him as a mid first rounder and don’t see him as a top 10 guy yet like some do.

Cayden Boozer is an interesting one as Cameron is the guy who the hype is about but could Cayden be the sort of guy like Kon Knueppel who goes much higher than we thought?

Was it deliberate to put big Olivier Rioux last on your big board or just a coincidence?

Yeah, I’m looking at Cenac and Houston’s roster and wondering if Cenac is a this year guy or a figure it out next year… he’s got the raw talent and tools to become great, but to me he looks raw. If he were to declare and stay similar to how he is now, we’re talking Stromile Swift/Marquese Chriss type of player. I think he improves his game though, just not sure how soon he gets that opportunity with the depth of Houston.

Cayden Boozer I don’t think will be as high as Knueppel went last year. But then I think Knueppel went too high. I think he could have a similar impact (not necessarily style) as Mike Conley. He could maybe crack the lottery tops, but doubt he’s a top 7 guy say.

Rioux I had deliberately put there a while ago, but then I added Trent Burns, Jr… then his unfortunate set back defaulted my copy/paste back to Rioux again, so yeah sort of deliberate…

Thanks for the feedback!!! Can’t wait til’ we get to see some of these prospect stack up against one another…

I’m going to be interested when Jayden Quaintance is back playing as I think his defensive upside would have him in 2nd or 3rd tier if he is back playing and sound again.

A guy like Cenac if he stayed another year would probably make nearly as much from NIL deals as he’d earn if he declared. Also with the 2027 draft is nowhere near as deep as next year’s. So a guy who could go say 10 to 14 next year could easily be a top 3 or top 5 at worse pick in 2027 especially with another year’s college experience under their belt.

Actually I think 2027 could be deep… depending on who declares and who doesn’t. Not nearly as top heavy imo though. 2027 is a weird class, still don’t have too much of a feel for it though. More focused on the 2026.

Beyond Tyran Stokes I’ve not got much idea about 2027 draft prospects either. Very few HS Seniors have yet committed to a college so until we get a feel of who goes where I’d not start considering the class.

Looks good. Its just so early. There seems to be no huge surprises in your early big board this year. I’m not gonna be able to watch many games this season unless they are on the weekend so I’ll be looking forward to reading your updates.

Eeek, Eaglestaff looked nothing like he did last year, and I don’t mean that in a positive way… a shell of the player from last year today. Hope he gets back to form.

Nice theres alot tol ook over there.
Nice to see Acuff so high. Hes done everything you could have asked him to do and history suggests as coach Cal’s lead guard he has a very bruight future.

I have Sergio De Larrea ranked similar to you. I think he;’s been slept on.

What are your thoughts on Hannes Steinbach I havent watched him play this year? Good player on a bad team in a weak conference? Or is he a hidden gem?

Dent has been terrible this year. His shot just hasnt been falling and the increase of athletisism and physicality has really shown in the tougher contract.

Yeah Vesaar has been great and its not his first season playing at this level. He was a big part of Arizona’s success last year as well. I think he is a lte 1st as of now and quite frankly like the fit with my Toronto Raptors who have started CMB at Center for half the year.

Identifying which players will go to the NBA after obvious lottery picks is tough. Some guys have indicated that they want to be in this draft. Tomislav Ivišić stated he plans on being in the NBA next year, but I would be hesitant to peg him as a 1st rounder. Thijs De Ridder has similarly said as much, but given that he is 23 (thus making him a likely 2nd round pick) could probably make more money returning to college for another year. Neoklis Avdalas has hit a wall over the past few weeks. It is possible a team looks at the transition Egor Demin made off a less than impressive college season, but there is no guarantee of it. Jayden Quaintance should be an easy decision to return. He hasn’t been healthy and playing, and has showed to be raw in both years when he has been on the floor. Arenas has come on in the past few games, and his father still brags about the benefits of going in the 2nd round, so it is hard to figure which way he might go. Karim Lopez has done better on the NBL of really any of the 18 year olds who have been in the Next Stars program. He has a 32-8-2 game from a couple weeks ago on his resume. He and De Ridder play similar types of games, but Lopez is four years younger. Will he get lottery looks? I am a little surprised to see him at #23 on this site. I think Aday Mara could benefit from one more year of his body maturing, but Kalkbrenner has fared well. Maybe he gets good feedback. Henri Veesaar could have a redshirt senior year next if he wants it, but is having a great year. If he measurements hold true (7-footer with a 7’2″ wingspan), he could be a 1st rounder.

It is a big guessing game though at the end of the day… but I’m actually with you on Veesaar likely a 1st rounder if he declares. Hard to say if Ivisic or De Ridder declare even if they say they will. NILs might offer something ridiculous. But… if either do, I’d say Ivisic is more likely. Not because he is a first round talent in this class… but because he might crack the first round seeming this class lacks in gigantic bigs. Aday Mara would fall under the same circumstance though imo. Karim Lopez is a stud.. the draft space in general is overthinking the upside potential in Karim Lopez. He has more than they give him credit for and already can just be plugged in with his combination of size/skillset. A guy that I just took a look at was Allen Graves from a podcast I listen too, and sure enough Aran Smith projected him in the latest mock… that was the stand out guy I noticed in the mock… Everything in the mock overall I can understand the point of view… Not sure what to think about Allen Graves now, but Aran Smith’s pretty good at this kind of stuff. Have to take a deep dive into Allen Graves… so many talented freshmen in this class.

Thoughts on Darryn Peterson sitting out the rest of the season to prepare for the NBA? We saw some signs of this early in the year and discussed whether or not this maybe as issue going forward and it seems he’s confirmed those concerns. I must say he falls at the very least to 4th on my board because of this.

There has been some incredible games and tells of the next big board since this has last been posted, but wow… that Duke/Michigan game and Arizona/Houston game last night… the Arkansas/Alabama one the other night… sheesh!

As for Peterson, I’m thinking this guy is a remixed version of Dwyane Wade… probably same impact. Better shooter, but like I said… remixed… for today’s game I guess. He’s got a good shot at – at least challenging for the first pick this year.

Based on what weve seen during the NIL era the majority of your DECLARE/RETURN list will in fact return to school. Its making it more difficult to make mocks unless they have a 1st round promise. Its defenitely thinning out drafts but longterm it seems like college ball is becoming very competitive and trending in the right direction.

I’m wondering what happened with Acuff’s consensus ranking. Its defenitely rising again but when did it originally plummet. He was a top 5 recruit for a while. He’s had arguably the best freshman year in the entire Division One and hes go the pedigree as one of many successful Calipari guards.

He’s a little on the shorter side and only has a 6’6 wingspan but I’m not sure its gonna matter. I have him 5th on my board right now.

Massamba Diop might be a lottery pick. His stocks defenitely rising after a great Kansas game. He’s like a bigger Jaren Jackson. 7’1, athletic, shooting, rim protection but he just doesn’t rebound.
