OhCanada-ParticipantAlmost time.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 5:50am #1269601

OhCanada-ParticipantDont rule out Ja Morant to Brooklyn. Grizzlies are trying to move into the top 10.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 6:07am #1269604

OhCanada-ParticipantIf Shams or whoever is the new Woj tweets whos getting picked lets not post it in here. Trades are fine but those tweets just ruins the suspense. Thats of course if the site doesnt crash.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 6:07am #1269606

OhCanada-ParticipantMy biggest regret is that we didnt get to see a BTPH bigboard or mockdraft.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 6:11am #1269608

NorrinRaddParticipantif this site crashes during the draft you can find me on one of the usual channels…

HitsterParticipantPacers got 38th pick from Spurs for a future 2nd rounder.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 6:55am #1269610

OhCanada-ParticipantI hate when the Pacers are picking ahead of Toronto. Last time they took Andrew Nembhard from us. This time they probably take Ryan.

OhCanada-ParticipantMavs trade Cooper Flagg for Luka Doncic.
2+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:11am #1269612

NorrinRaddParticipantHey… I got something right on my mock!!!
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:27am #1269615

OhCanada-ParticipantNo surprises so far. Charlottes gonna be an interesting one. I have them picking Tre Johnson here.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:37am #1269616

OhCanada-ParticipantWow. Knueppel at 4 just seems very high. Idk about that one but well see. I’m almost 100% certain theres a better player available, also certain Kons gonna be very good.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:40am #1269617

NorrinRaddParticipantagree, should’ve been Tre though.
1+
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:43am #1269618

HitsterParticipantI laughed when mocks had Kon at 4 but they were proved right. Surely there was a trade up for someone wanting a shot at Ace or Tre.
Ainge has got Ace, did we really think the guy with that much talent was going to slip past wily Danny Ainge.
2+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:45am #1269619

OhCanada-ParticipantDefenitely not. I had Ace at 5. Now does Washington go Fears or Johnson here? I’d be shocked if they pass on Tre.
1+
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:46am #1269620

OhCanada-ParticipantAre the Nets really about to just draft 5 players in the 1st round? Wheres the trades?
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:55am #1269621

HitsterParticipantTre is a good fit for Washington. But Fears will soon hear his name called. No doubt very clearly with his amazing ears.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:56am #1269622

NorrinRaddParticipantAce looks unhappy with where he landed.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:56am #1269623

NorrinRaddParticipantI’m liking the Fears pick here.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 7:59am #1269624

OhCanada-ParticipantBrooklyn better not pick Maluach.,,,
Yeah Washington had to move Poole to make room for Tre. Johnson is gonna be so good in Washington thats the best fit so far. Mcollum will be a great vet for him to learn from as well.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:03am #1269625

NorrinRaddParticipantDemin is a pretty good fit… little rich for me, but we’ll see…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:05am #1269626

OhCanada-ParticipantDemin is gonna be so good. Raptors have a layup here. Cant believe Maluach fell this far really.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:05am #1269627

HitsterParticipantLeave Maluach for the Suns, take Cedric C or Queen please Toronto.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:11am #1269628

NorrinRaddParticipantI’m so sorry Oh Canada, maybe CMB will end up with a jumper someday…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:12am #1269629

OhCanada-ParticipantNo.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:15am #1269630

NorrinRaddParticipantWho knows, Toronto has good player development. I wouldn’t have done that though.
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:16am #1269631

OhCanada-ParticipantMan. Your trying to build around Scottie Barnes. Why not bring in a prospect that compliments his game. They just got a poor mans Scottie Barnes. How does that make any sense.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:20am #1269634

NorrinRaddParticipantit makes no sense to me either, just trying to find some kind of silver lining.
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:19am #1269632

HitsterParticipantSome mocks had CMB that high but surely Maluach, Queen, Noa, Coward made more sense.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:19am #1269633

NorrinRaddParticipantMaluach and Mark Williams to the Suns!!!
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:20am #1269635

HitsterParticipantWe got Maluach, we got Maluach, shots will be blocked, we got Maluach!
And relax, looking forward to who Spurs take with the 14th pick.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:21am #1269636

HitsterParticipantMark Williams too we needed a big man now two come along at once like British buses.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:26am #1269637

NorrinRaddParticipantCedric Coward going to Memphis
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:26am #1269638

HitsterParticipantCedric is a good choice for Portland. Surely Chicago takes a big at 12.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:28am #1269639

NorrinRaddParticipantPortland traded the pick to Memphis… for 16 and a 1st and 2 2nds
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:30am #1269640

HitsterParticipantGood deal for Memphis.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:35am #1269641

NorrinRaddParticipantEssengue to the Bulls – don’t like the fit…
Atlanta trades their pick 13 to NOP for way too much… pick 23 and a 2026 1st.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:38am #1269642

OhCanada-ParticipantIm guessing Pelicans want Queen here.
2+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:41am #1269645

NorrinRaddParticipantGood call
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:39am #1269643

HitsterParticipantEssengue is potentially BPA but I’d have thought a legit big with made sense as Vucevic is about 35 now.
If Giannis is traded that 2026 pick could be gold dust.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:40am #1269644

NorrinRaddParticipantQueen, Asa, Sorber or Carter Bryant… so many to choose from.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:45am #1269646

NorrinRaddParticipantCarter Bryant to the Spurs could be interesting.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:45am #1269647

OhCanada-ParticipantWow. Spurs dont draft a French guy.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:49am #1269648

HitsterParticipantCarter Bryant gives them options at 3 or 4. A prototype NBA 3 and D guy. I trust the Spurs brains trust so a good pick.
Cedric Coward to help fill Desmond Bane void looks a great move by Memphis too.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:59am #1269652

OhCanada-ParticipantYeah and to your point, I trust Ujiri, Tolzman and Webster in Toronto. So even know I’m upset they didnt pick Maluach or Coward seeing them select CMB kind of confirms for me that CMB is really that good. I understand the pick. They wanna just load up on versatile defenders that can guard every position. They think they can develop his jumpshot. I bet CMB was their pick no matter what happened, even if they were picking 4th. It will be interesting to see how it all pans out though because I was confident we would see Maluach, Demin or Coward picked there.
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:54am #1269649

NorrinRaddParticipantI wonder how Sorber feels about being on OKC.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:55am #1269650

HitsterParticipantSorber is a sound choice by Presti and co. Gives them the big body to go alongside Chet if Hartenstein moves on in due course when new deals for key players kick in. But I think that is now 14 guys under guaranteed contracts and two team options on useful rotation guys for next season.
They surely move 24th pick now.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 8:58am #1269651

NorrinRaddParticipantI think he’s similar on offense to Jaylin Williams but has better D.
0- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 9:20am #1269656

OhCanada-ParticipantThe Sorber/Jaylin Williams comparison is excellent. Cant believe I never saw that before. Its the playmaking woth both those bigs that really stand out and makes it so they can play with anyone.
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 9:02am #1269653

NorrinRaddParticipantThe Yangsta!!! oMfG!!!
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 9:04am #1269654

OhCanada-ParticipantYep I kinda thought this might happen. I had Yang going 24th because I thought Toronto was gonna trade down with OKC. I think hes gonna be good. Surprised he didnt go to a big market though, being Chinese hes gonna be extremely marketable. Not as marketable as Cooper Flagg though.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 9:06am #1269655

HitsterParticipantHansen Yang to Portland then. They already have Clingan as a long term big plus Ayton still under contract.
We talked about Yang being of interest to the Lakers could they trade for him?
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 9:24am #1269657

OhCanada-ParticipantTraore at 119 is ridiculous value. Nets are just gonna snipe the best talent all draft long and not give a fuck about fit.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 9:27am #1269658

OhCanada-ParticipantIm guessing Heat pick Nique Clifford here.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 9:46am #1269661

NorrinRaddParticipantDrake Powell to the Nets from the Atlanta trade… interesting what Brooklyn’s doing…
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:00am #1269662

NorrinRaddParticipantFinally Nique Clifford’s off the board… Kings are a great fit too.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:02am #1269663

OhCanada-ParticipantKalkbrenner is a perfect fit for Orlando but I but they go Wolf here with the Michigan connection.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:11am #1269664

NorrinRaddParticipantHow is Fleming still on the board?
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:16am #1269666

OhCanada-ParticipantI’m guessing Fleming got killed at workouts and dint interveiw well. He also didnt seem enthusiastic about playing Center. I had him dropping to but thought the wingspan and shooting would get him drafted by this point.
1+
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:14am #1269665

OhCanada-ParticipantDanny Wolf’s really stressing over there. Probably passed up $4 mil and is sliding.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:16am #1269667

OhCanada-ParticipantBoston must be picking Lak here. Or Broome.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:20am #1269669

NorrinRaddParticipantHUGO!
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:16am #1269668

NorrinRaddParticipantfinally Wolf
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:28am #1269670

OhCanada-ParticipantMcNeely to the Suns. Suns get Maluach, McNeely and Williams. Very interesting. I’m guessing they thought Toronto was gonna pick Maluach and pulled the trigger on Williams.
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:31am #1269671

NorrinRaddParticipantMcNeeley’s traded to CHA
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:35am #1269672

OhCanada-ParticipantWhoever gets Kalkbrenner at this point is gonna be laughing.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:35am #1269673

NorrinRaddParticipantI can’t believe Fleming’s on the board still… Raynaud and Kalkbrenner too… all high demand type guys that check a lot of boxes.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 10:40am #1269674

OhCanada-ParticipantStill alot of good players available. At 39 I like Raynuad, Kalk, Fleming, Brea, Proctor, Watkins,
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 5:24pm #1269678

HitsterParticipantNets have gone full Nellyball but Wolf is a good pick for them.
Charlotte have certainly added perimeter shooting win Kon and McNeeley.
Atlanta made a canny move and still came out with Asa Newell for next season before we consider the 2026 pick they got.
Utah with Ace and Clayton have added a very good duo.
Heat getting Kasparas at 20 is a bargain.
YKN going ahead of Raynaud and Kalkbrenner was a slight shock.
Rasher Fleming is the night’s big loser and Nansen Yang the big winner.
1+ - Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 9:20pm #1269679

HitsterParticipantDanny Wolf gets over $5.2 million guaranteed over 2 years conpared to rumoured $4 million for staying in college. I still think he was quids in declaring as next year he’d have been auto eligible and there will be a lot of returning guys who will be in next year’s draft.
But it must have been getting tense for him when it got to last few picks but I think Boston or Clippers would likely have taken him.
Main interest for tonight see how soon Fleming, Kalkbrenner and Reynaud get picked and when does Zikarsky become great value low risk?
1+- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 11:03pm #1269680

NorrinRaddParticipantJohni Broome is another guy to look out for.
0
- Posted on: Wed, 06/25/2025 - 11:55pm #1269681

NorrinRaddParticipantLooks like the Lakers just traded up to pick 45 for pick 55 and cash from the Bulls…
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 12:49am #1269682

HitsterParticipantJohni Broome will be another very low risk pick. Philly at 35 would be a good spot if Kalk and Reynaud have gone by then.
Lakers must have a player in mind if they have traded up.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 2:47am #1269685

OhCanada-ParticipantI really want Toronto to draft one of the available bigsat 39 (Fleming, Broome, Raynaud, Kalkbrenner) but I doubt any will be available especially with Indiana in front of us. Heres a bit of a mock draft I’m not gonna do the whole round though. I still see Zikarsky going undrafted but with my luck Toronto ends up picking him with their 2nd.
31. Min – Rasheer Fleming
32. Bos – Johni Broome
33. Cha – Maxime Raynaud
34. Cha – Noah Penda
35. Phi – Adou Thiero
36. Bkn – Bogoljub Markovic
37. Det – Tyrese Proctor
38. Ind – Ryan Kalkbrenner
39. Tor – Koby Brea/Jamir Watkins1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 2:48am #1269686

NorrinRaddParticipantfantastic choices… hope the Lakers get a steal at 45… someone’s bound to drop…
1+- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 2:50am #1269688

OhCanada-ParticipantAmari Williams would be a great fit there.
1+
- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 2:49am #1269687

OhCanada-ParticipantI think Phillys gonna trade 35. I hope Toronto trades for it so we can get a big. Thats my prediction for the day.
2+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 5:45am #1269701

HitsterParticipantZikarsky would be a project but is still 7ft 3ins. He could be wheeled out for certain match ups.
The Raptors still have Chomche to return as their big man project. But taking a proven college senior big on a two way contract would be low risk – high reward.
There are now rumours that Ace Bailey’s representatives told a team in the top 5 not to draft him. I doubt it was Mavs and unlikely to be the Spurs as their picks were pretty much set in stone. So was it Utah and Danny Ainge has decided to play hardball. If he has Ace’s rights and Ace doesn’t sign Ainge could leave Ace in limbo for years in theory or trade him to some other small market. Having Ace’s rights but not having him on court improves their chances in the AJ sweepstakes too.
Just a thought but still a fun idea. Ace and co tried to cross Ainge and he has hardballed them.2+- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 6:31am #1269710

OhCanada-ParticipantThis is Danny Ainge’s master plan to get AJ Dybansta. If Bailey holds out on them and makes a big drama the NBA will feel sorry for them and let them win the lottery.
2+- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:44am #1269721
Hatu SetuParticipantI was laughing all night hoping the Jazz were waiting till the end of the night to announce a trade with Ace, just to watch him squirm. But I like this idea of a holdout & a better chance of AJ.
0
- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 6:57am #1269713

OhCanada-ParticipantPeople say the 2nd round is not important but I disagree. I think its very possible to draft the MVP and best player in the world in the 2nd round. Experts will say “well not in this draft”. Well they probably thought the same thing in 2014. Toronto wouldn’t have won a Championship without Fred Van Vleets hot shooting streak and he went undrafted. Still some very good players left.
1+- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:02am #1269714

NorrinRaddParticipantSuns traded for pick 31 to get Fleming.
1+
- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:10am #1269715

HitsterParticipantRaptors won the title with Marc Gasol and Danny Green who were both 2nd rounders too, Siakam was 27th pick and OG 23rd in their draft years. Even Kawhi was only 15th pick so you get very good players further down the draft.
2+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:27am #1269716

OhCanada-ParticipantOrlando trades for 32. Im shocked they didnt pick a big here. For a long time I had them picking Richardson anf Kalkbrenner or Clayton and SOrber. They ended up getting Richardson and Penda alot lower. Very good draft for them.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:33am #1269717

HitsterParticipantI had Boston nailed on to take Kalk, Raynaud etc at 32. But they have got some useful 2nd rounders and I wonder what the long term plan for next season is now.
Orlando got a couple of good players with their two picks.
2+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:33am #1269718

OhCanada-ParticipantSion James before Tyrese Proctor wow. I’m high on both players but didnt think that would happen.
2+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:41am #1269719

NorrinRaddParticipantKalkbrenner pick is good.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:43am #1269720

HitsterParticipantYep the Incredible Kalk could be a real draft bargain.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:46am #1269722

HitsterParticipantBoom! Broome goes to Philly. If T-Wolves get Raynaud at 36 they have made a clever trade.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:49am #1269723

OhCanada-ParticipantLakers move up and dont draft a Center.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:49am #1269724

OhCanada-ParticipantHow do people not see the talent with Raynuad. Whats going on? Maybe I’m crazy.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:57am #1269725

NorrinRaddParticipantRaynaud should be picked already… Lakers got good value in Thiero… Chaz Lanier is a good fit at Detroit. Not sure about the Kam Jones fit.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 7:59am #1269726

OhCanada-ParticipantSpurs passing on Raynuad is shocking. I wonder why hes dropping. Hes kinda coky maybe teams didnt like his personality.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 8:01am #1269727

NorrinRaddParticipantSolid Alijah Martin pick for Toronto…
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 8:02am #1269728

OhCanada-ParticipantIm done…
0- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 8:03am #1269729

NorrinRaddParticipantI think he’s a poor man’s Marcus Smart
0
- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 8:19am #1269730

NorrinRaddParticipantSacramento is drafting pretty well.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 8:24am #1269731

NorrinRaddParticipantWizards just got Watkins. Pretty good value.
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 8:31am #1269732

OhCanada-ParticipantToronto picks Alijah Martin once again an emphasis on defence and effort. This is their Norman Powell pick. Undersizaed SG, outstanding athlete, streaky shooter. Powell is 6’4 with a 6’11 wingspan 40 inch verticle, Martin is 6’3 with a 6’8 wingspan 38 inch verticle. Hes a tough guy, ridiulous athlete and a champion. Hes also the only player to play in multiple Final Fours with different teams. I don’t hate it.
2+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 8:35am #1269733

OhCanada-ParticipantPhoenix picking up Maluach and Kobe Brea after the Raptors has a chance to age well. Toronto clearly prioritized a certain grit and toughness in this draft. Dan Tolzman said they wanted to draft players that would thrive in the playoffs. Maybe thats a part of it. If you asked me before the draft where I would rank these duo’s for Toronto, Maluach/Brea, Clifford/Raynuad, CMB/Martin the Raptors package would be last.
2+- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 6:51pm #1269749

NorrinRaddParticipantFrustrating… off topic slightly, but Raf Barlowe isn’t on NBABigBoards anymore… Idk, that sucks donkey balls! He just did his last episode… I’m actually upset about this – my feelings are actually hurt over this. I watched about every episode.
0
- Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 8:53am #1269735

NorrinRaddParticipantMarkovic to the Bucks was a steal
1+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 9:10am #1269736

NorrinRaddParticipantTaelon Peter’s gotta be the biggest shock in the 2nd getting drafted.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 10:14am #1269741

NorrinRaddParticipantLots of good UDFAs… Chucky Hepburn on Toronto’s pretty solid. Phoenix picked up CJ Huntley. Eric Dixon to the Lakers. Tamar Bates to the Nuggets is a homerun for an UDFA.
2+ - Posted on: Thu, 06/26/2025 - 11:00pm #1269751

BothTeamsPlayedHard-ParticipantI did not have Yang, Powell, and Niederhauser as 1st rounders. I thought Fleming could go in the lottery, and had Raynaud and Markovic in the 1st. With Fleming and Raynaud, the timing of their growth as players clearly was held against them. Fleming is only turning 21 next month and Raynaud just turned 22. In a lot of ways, Fleming is the frontcourt version of Coward. The physical makeup, and where his game is at now, matters more than where they were at as a 17 or 18-year old. If the league likes the prospect of Essengue, and the prospect of Beringer, then why is someone with the same physical makeup and has successfully improved his game be regarded so much lower? At best, at very peak outcome, Fleming can be another Jaren Jackson. I have a hard time envisioning him having a lesser career than Taj Gibson. It would likely require either a character/injury issue, or the 39% three point shooting on 159 attempts being completely imaginary. I like Raynaud, but am less surprised he dropped. I liked Filip Petrusev, and the league had little interest Raynaud is a bit taller and longer and didn’t have his best games against the top of the ACC, but think he is a better prospect than Yang. Raynaud will have an uphill battle for a chance in Sacramento with Sabonis and Valanciunas, but I would expect the Kings to give him one of those two-years plus two-options on the minimum that teams value for low cost guys at the back of their roster. Markovic in Milwaukee seems like a good long-term flier. Him staying in Europe for at least one year would do him well. Doc Rivers has never had a lot of time for young developmental guys, so keeping him off the roster until he is ready is likely the best move for him to work out.

HitsterParticipantRaynaud only really seemed to go up the mock boards in the last few months. He was a mid to lower 2nd round guy for a long time and I’m pretty sure Kalk was always ahead of him. Some of the guys on here liked Raynaud at 14 and then he seemed to move up a lot of draft boards so I moved him up mine to reflect this.
Fleming did seem to have slipped down mocks and did he get a green room invite? But I fully expected him to go first round.
YKN and Kalk were only 4 spots apart in the draft so they were regarded pretty equally really.
Yang was still the surprise and I don’t know what Portland’s mandarin is like. He’ll generate a lot of media coverage in China so will make the franchise useful commercial money. How far away from being able to play regularly in the NBA is I don’t know. Zach Edey’s speed was considered an issue but he’d played more at a higher level than Yang.
If a team was going to take a flyer on a big I thought the Thunder might have taken Zikarsky with 24th pick and left him overseas until they had a roster spot. They have their title now so could have taken a risk.

NorrinRaddParticipantYou should check out the latest Khaman Maluach video from NoCeilings… very great video breakdown of his elite defense… You’re going to like this guy.

OhCanada-ParticipantI watched quite a few Florida games this year but after reveiwing the film on Alijah Martin my best comparisons for him are Avery Bradley and George Hill and their measurements and athletic testing are eerily similar.

NorrinRaddParticipantI like the Avery Bradley comp in particular… Alijah Martin is a very good pick up.

OhCanada-ParticipantRumor is the New Orleans Pelicans offered the same trade they made with Atlanta (#13 for #23 and best of ’26 NOP/MIL 1st round unprotected) to teams starting as high as 9th overall. Looking back in hindsight the pick probably would have been Nique Clifford or Asa Newell. So Nique Clifford and NOP Unprotected 2026 for Collin Murray Boyles for Toronto Khaman Maluach for the Suns etc.
Yeah I’m making that trade, but maybe I’m wrong. That 2026 draft is the deepest of this generation, much deeper than this years since all the early entrants pulled out for NIL money. Winning the lottery and getting in the top 4 will get you a 1st overall talent with Dybansta, Peterson, Boozer, Ament, Cenac, maybe even Stokes and more wildcards like Wilson, Arenas, Brown the Arkansas guards etc.. I think this will end up being a mistake even if CMB or Maluach turns out to be outstanding if Hawks win the lottery next year with that pick.
Maybe NOP is confident Zion is fully committed after his rape accusation. Would you have preferred that trade Hitster?

HitsterParticipantI’d have not wanted to trade back to 23 with an outside chance of a lottery pick higher than 10th pick this year. This would hinge on Giannis maybe getting traded and NOP not improving. Fears and Queen give NOP nice extra depth and I don’t see them being worse than us next season.
If Maluach hadn’t landed in our laps than I’d have been more interested. But I had him as potential 5 to 8 pick so falling past Raptors we couldn’t not draft him IMO.
Next years top 10 could potentially be as good as this years. I have a decent knowledge of the top few freshmen and draft eligible guys like Jayden Quaintance but how the rest of the guys stack up I don’t know. There are a lot of good returners who will use up their college eligibility or will declare after 2nd or 3rd year but some of this is factoring in improvements.

BothTeamsPlayedHard-ParticipantI have to question how many teams in that range were offered a similar deal because Portland traded #11 for #16, a 2028 Orlando 1st rounder, and some 2nds. I have to believe if New Orleans was shopping their 2026 1st (an unprotected one) with #23 when Portland was apparently targeting Yang that the Blazers would have jumped. I suppose it is possible they thought they could not have gone down as far as #23 to get Yang, but that wouldn’t be my thought. If the Suns were offered such a deal for #10, I think they forego Maluach. My hesitancy would be whether Ishbia would have the patience to wait a year to see what comes of it. The Raptors at #9 and Bulls at #12 would have been foolish to not take it. Now, I would have preferred Rasheer Fleming over CMB or Noa Essengue purely on potential, much less if there was a 2026 unprotected 1st included.

HitsterParticipantWith an offer to drop to 16th or 23rd I can see Portland favouring the Memphis offer over that from NOP. There had been talk that the Hawks were looking to move up possibly to get Maluach. but that was when they possibly thought he was going higher.
I’m guessing NoP started with Toronto and then went via every team until they got the Hawks to take the deal. Raptors and Suns likely weren’t budging. Portland had Memphis deal on the table which they preferred. I wonder how close Chicago was to biting as with Maluach off the board the deal made more sense for them.
I wonder how closely the Thunder were monitoring the situation as Maluach would have been a perfect fit for them too and they has 15th,24th, Topic and other assets to offer?

HitsterParticipantThomas Sorber has torn his ACL and will miss the entire season for the Thunder. I don’t know how much he would have been in rotation next season so if he can come back sound it shouldn’t be a major setback for the team.
1+ - Posted on: Sat, 09/06/2025 - 4:27am #1270386

NorrinRaddParticipantThat’s a bummer for Sorber though… like DaRon Holmes last year, he’ll have to start developing a year later coming off an injury… that’s an unfortunate uphill battle, but who knows?
0 - Posted on: Sat, 09/06/2025 - 6:56am #1270388

HitsterParticipantI guess OKC would have wanted to have a look at him as they have Hartenstein’s team option next summer which they may not really want to take up as Jaylen and Chet’s new deals kick in.
I just hope this doesn’t affect Sorber’s longtime prospects with the team as they might look to draft another young big man next year as a safety neck and they still have numerous future picks due.
With Denver signing Jonas V it means DaRon won’t see many minutes at C as JV will soak up minutes that Jokic doesn’t play. Maybe DaRon can get minutes at PF?
