Player of the Week

Mark Mitchell (Duke)

Mitchell has been on a tear as of late. In the recent three-game stretch, the forward has been a key component in Duke’s hot play. Starting off against Queen’s University, Mitchell got it done on both ends of the floor. He posted a near double-double with 10 points and 8 rebounds along with causing fits on the defensive end with 2 steals and a block. The sophomore then followed that performance up with 21 points, 6 rebounds and 2 blocks against conference foe Syracuse. Then in a win over Notre Dame, Mitchell posted his best outing of the season going for a double-double with his 23 points and 14 rebounds.

Who’s Hot

Duke Blue Devils

Coming into the start of the season, Duke had the makings of one of the most talented rosters in the country paired with its returning players and high-profile recruits. While this is still the case, the Blue Devils struggled early on in the season. Having now found its footing, the team from Durham is on a roll and doesn’t look to be slowing down anytime soon. The squad is on a six-game win streak en route to its strong 11-3 record. In three of its last four games, the unit has dethroned No. 18 Baylor as well as two conference wins over a strong Syracuse team and Notre Dame.

Claudell Harris Jr. (Boston College)

Harris Jr. has been a key contributor to the Eagles surprisingly strong showing in the 2-23-2024 campaign. The Charleston Southern transfer has heated up recently and has seemed to have broken out for Boston College. In a three-game stretch, the guard has been on fire providing a spark for his squad. He started off with going for 29 points, 4 rebounds and 2 steals against Lehigh. In the next game against Wake Forest, the junior totaled 15 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists. Then in the win over Georgia Tech, he posted a magnificent showing totaling 26 points on 4-4 shooting from 3-point range.

Who’s Not

Clemson Tigers

After being one of the biggest surprises to start the season, Clemson proved that it was far from fraudulent as its play has more than done the talking. With its No. 16 ranking attached to its name, the Tigers have had a target on its back and ended up causing them some trouble in its last two contests. The squad is on a two-game losing skid. The matchups in store for the orange and white were no easy task at hand, as it had to deal with a tough Miami team along with No. 8 North Carolina. While these are by no means bad losses, Clemson needs to hit the drawing board as it needs to prove it can hang with the elite teams in order to make a ACC Tournament and March Madness run.

Harrison Ingram (North Carolina)

The heralded transfer from Stanford has been a bright spot for UNC this season. The former five-star has played a crucial role in the squads road back to a March Madness appearance and its No. 8 ranking. Known as a scorer, Ingram has been below his season average which is now 13 due to his latest performances bringing it down. In his last three outings where he posted a tally of 7,9 and 10 points. He has been contributing in other facets but the Tar Heels would like him to get back on track.
