Player of the Week

Tristan da Silva (Colorado)

The Pac-12 didn’t see a lot of action this week but in the little they did, the Munich, Germany  native, da Silva was the best player. Colorado beat Miami handedly behind his 22 point, 10 rebound and 9 assist performance. da Silva’s near triple-double led to a 90-63 rout of the Hurricanes, knocking off the #15 team in the country. The Buffaloes are now 7-2 and looking to be ranked once again.

Who’s Hot

Caleb Love (Arizona)

The Wildcats have looked unbeatable to start this season and continue to rack up huge wins. Arizona beat #23 Wisconsin 98-73 behind Love’s 20 points and 7 rebounds. He shot 7/13 from the field and 3/8 from three, continuing his most efficient season to date. The UNC transfer has been huge for this program and continues to be one of their catalysts on offense.

Washington Huskies

The Huskies beat #10 Gonzaga by five points behind Keion Brooks Jr.’s 17 points and 8 rebounds. They held the Bulldogs to 42.6% shooting from the field and 27.8% from beyond the arch. On the other side of things, Washington shot better from the field, three point line and free throw line. They’re 6-3 and looking to get back on track with a three game win streak.

Who’s Not

UCLA Bruins

UCLA isn’t the same team we’ve seen in recent memory. They’re 5-3 on the year and whenever they’ve faced a quality team, they lost. This was no different against a very beatable Villanova Wildcats squad. They struggled with everything on the court and after the game, Mick Cronin had some comments about the Wildcats players. The Bruins have to find a way to beat good teams or else they could end up with a less than favorable record.

Top 5 Best Passers in the Pac-12

1. Jared Bynum (Stanford)

Bynum currently leads the Pac-12 in assists per game at 7.3 and only averages 2.1 turnovers a game. Although Stanford has been disappointing as of late, he has been a bright spot when it comes to distributing on the court. The senior guard transfer from Providence proves to be one of their best players.

2. Rollie Worster (Utah)

Worster has been a consistently good passer for the Utes in his three years there, averaging five or more assists the last two seasons. This season, he’s averaging a career high 6.1 assists per game on 1.7 turnovers, a great assist to turnover ratio. The Utes have been great to start the year and rely on Worster every single game.

3. Sahvir Wheeler (Washington)

Wheeler is one of the main contributors on a Washington team that just knocked off #10 Gonzaga. He averages over 16 points per game this season but the most impressive part is his passing. He dishes out 6.5 assists per game and while his turnover number is pretty high this year, the Huskies are still finding a way to win with him at the helm. He’s one of the best passers in the entire conference.

4. Kylan Boswell (Arizona)

The youngest player on this list is one of the most promising players in the entire Pac-12. Boswell plays 27 minutes a night on a legit championship contender as a sophomore which is saying a lot. During his time on the court, he averages 4.8 assists and under 2 turnovers a game, an impressive number for someone so young.

5. Paul Mulcahy (Washington)

Yes, the Huskies have two of the best passers in the Pac-12. Mulcahy averages 5.4 assists per game and serves as a compliment to Sahvir Wheeler. Both are valuable senior guards to a Washington team looking to make noise in the conference.
