ZouldiersParticipantWith all the Bradley Beal trade talks and all, what if Beal and Dame teamed up in Portland instead?? With Miami being at the forefront of the rumors once again, I can’t help but think Portland would most likely get Beal instead.

HitsterParticipantBeal has the no trade clause so would have to be agreeable to any deal and thus would probably limit the teams who could be able to make a realistic pitch. Also if teams who Beal would be happy to move to offer less than teams who he won’t then would the Wizards sign off on that deal.
Portland for a deal built around 3rd pick would be a good idea but they never had a deep run with Dame and CJ and Beal isn’t really a huge upgrade on CJ and Dame is older than he was when running with CJ.

OhCanada-ParticipantI’d like to see Beal or even Dame go to Orlando. How good would they be if the shooter they are looking to add ended up being one of those two. Orlando as an organization has been known to make big splashes in the past. Pick #6/#11 and some package of Isaac. Harris and whatever guards you need to get the deal done. Problem is I doubt Orlando would want to part with Wendell Carter Jr despite him never playing more than 62 games and thats probably who the Wizards/Blazers would ask for.

HitsterParticipantI’d like Dame in Orlando ahead of Beal given his playmaking ability unless they wanted Banchero to eventually run offence. 6th, 11th, Fultz, Harris – both expring deals and say Isaac would balance salarywise if Magic were desperate to keep Carter. They could throw in Bol Bol too or a future pick.
The Blazers could then take either Miller or Scoot plus say one of the Thompsons and maybe Gradey with all those picks.

OhCanada-ParticipantMiller at 3 (I think Henderson’s gone). I’d go Walker or Hendricks at 6 but either of the Thompsons would be great too, and yeah Grady is the guy at 11 to give them a solidified shooter. They already got Simons and Sharpe who was amazing late in his rookie season. They also got the defensive specialist Mattisee Thybulle who is only 25, so Grady/Thybulle gives them a nice offense defense combo at the wing.
Then they have a bunch of good young players like Little and Watford who look like they are ready for bigger roles and John Butler and all 150 pounds of him, Jabari Walker, Keon Johnson plus pick #23.
I mean they have to trade Lilliard right? Something like that is way better than trading for Beal or Siakam and getting 4-0’d by the Nuggets in the 1st round.

BothTeamsPlayedHard-ParticipantBeal has a no-trade clause and a huge contract that runs for the next four years, which means he is only going to land in the spot where he wants as he can simply nix it. The problem is as a results of so many teams recently going all-in, it is not as if there are many clear spots.
Miami could be a simply answer if they were to deal Tyler Herro, but that is giving up 7 years in age for somewhat comparable players who has played 60 games in one of the last four seasons. Given his relationship with Tatum, Boston might be a place he would be willing to go, but I have a hard time seeing a trade there. Boston has their 2024 and 2026 first rounders in a trade, but not a ton else. Brogdon, Smart, and White are good players, but not assets for a rebuilding team. Does Jaylen Brown for Beal really move the needle for either team? Again, with Brogdon, White, and Smart in place, Beal will cut into their value as well as make the team smaller. Brooklyn can easily make the money work should they ship off Ben Simmons, but that would probably mean throwing in an additional first rounder for Washington to do it. Their assets in the form of first rounders also come mostly down the line from Philadelphia, Dallas, though come regularly from Phoenix. Portland has the assets if they want to get vets for Lillard, but can they get through the West with Dame, Beal, Nurkic, and Jerami Grant? On paper, it looks ok, but it is a lot of missed games in past few seasons.

HitsterParticipantIf it was Brown for Beal and I was Boston I’d want assets back unless Brown was likely to walk. If it was a straight up deal and I was theWizards, I’d do it in a heartbeat as even if Brown walks the Wizards would have cap space.
As regards Beal teams like Lakers could have cap space next summer if LBJ retires so that could start so moves which might include him.
