SwatLakeCityParticipantI was watching watching Duke and Georgia Tech, only to see how Favors performs against top competition, but another player has caught my eye. A senior who came off the bench, and has brought immediate offense to this team in the first half. Zach Peacock, has like 13 or some points after 7 minutes of play. He is looking really good. Maybe not much athletic ability, but able to do everything you ask of him. Score, rebound, defend. Looks like a real leader, yet I don’t see him on this site. Why? Who would take him. Would he succeed in the NBA?

JNixonParticipantHe’s not an NBA player. Maybe Europe, but not NBA. He’s a poor defender down low and God-awful with his perimeter D, and he’s not quick or athletic enough to score or rebound down low. He’s playing good this game, but he’ll never play NBA ball. Trust me, I’ve watched him play in what seemingly has been the 1,000 years he’s been at GT

JNixonParticipantJoel Anthony averaged more across the board in college than Peacock ever has, and he’s a better defender, rebounder and athlete. And Mbenga at least provides tough rebounding and defense. Peacock doesn’t provide either one, especially if he were to take a step up and compete agaisnt NBA guys.
I’m not hating, I watch GT wayyyy more than anyone on this site and I’ve attended more games over the past 6 seasons or so (ever since the made the Title run) so I’m giving an honest opinion. But if Zach Peacock makes an NBA roster next regular season, I’ll literally delete my account on here. Sound like a bet?

SwatLakeCityParticipantWith his hard work ethic, and attitude, I think he could be the next Wes Matthews. Yes, I know different position, but their work ethic and attitude is the same. This combination is very valuable many teams who are looking for leadership, hustle, and motivational players. Just look at Matthews value to the Jazz. He went undrafted, yet he is quietly averaging 8 points a game in his rookie season. I could see him in the NBA next year maybe on a contender, like the Spurs, Nuggets, or Rockets. I think it is players like these that make the NBA worthwhile, and interesting.

JNixonParticipantThere are alot of hard workers…and for as hard as he works he’s not a great defender or rebounder. As I said, I’m willing to be that he won’t even make a team’s Training Camp roster let alone make a roster. Let’s be realistic here people.

HueBoND 2001ParticipantDo people realize how much talent there is out there. Europe is only allowed a certain number of american players. Luckily if your a big man, you have a much better shot but as far as gaurds you must be in the top 20 or just have that one chance of luck. I hope peacock makes one of the league but Kevin pittsnoggle averaged almost 18 and is working at a grocery store about 1 year to 2 years ago. Good luck people are sometimes dreamers

the I in winParticipantyeah that quote for durant “hard work beat talent when talent isn’t working hard” that’s a load of crap, i can try my damndest but i still won’t beat the guy who can come down and hit a jumper in my face every time.
