Who would you prefer and why?

PS- If you’re going to subtract points from anyone, give them a REASON why, DON’T just subtract points and leave it. Sorry, but I personally really hate when people subtract points from me and don’t me a reason why. Oh, and you don’t gotta answer every one; just pick one or a few and stick to that.

    DeMarcus Cousins or Greg Monroe

    Damion James or Stanley Robinson

    Luke Babbit or Kyle Singler

    Dominique Jones or Willie Warren

    Trevon Hughes or Scottie Reynolds

    Jeremy Hazell or Manny Harris

    Matt Bouldin or Greivis Vasquez

    Luke Harangody or Renardo Sidney

    Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson

    Scotty Hopson or James Anderson

    Kalin Lucas or Kemba Walker

DeMarcus Cousins or Greg Monroe- Cousins…he would destroy Monroe. As a freshman he is already better than Monroe is now as a Soph.  Cousins is the best big man in the draft period.

Damion James or Stanley Robinson.  James..he has more polished skills by far. Robinson just won’t ever reach his potential.

Luke Babbit or Kyle Singler…Babbit, have you seen the #’s this guy is putting up?…impressive. He is more athletic than Singler too.

Dominique Jones or Willie Warren- Tough one. I’ll say Warren for now.

Trevon Hughes or Scottie Reynolds- Reynolds. Neither is an nba player though.

Jeremy Hazell or Manny Harris- Harris..he is just better. If Harris ever learns to shoot it consistently he could develop into a very solid pro. Hazell is just a chucker that can’t defend & won’t be much help to an nba team.

Matt Bouldin or Greivis Vasquez- Vasquez..much better swag haha.  Seriously I think Bouldin may have trouble getting his shot off at the next level.

Luke Harangody or Renardo Sidney- Sidney just based on upside.

Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson- Davis can be a significantly better pro if he develops as planned. Patterson will be solid but not great.

Scotty Hopson or James Anderson- Hopson easily…better size, better length, better shooter, WAY more upside

Kalin Lucas or Kemba Walker- Tough one. I’ll say Lucas just because he so clutch at the end of games with the ball in his hands.

DeMarcus Cousins or Greg Monroe- I like Cousins here. He’s better at everything except passing. Neither are now and probably will never be good defenders though.

Damion James or Stanley Robinson-I like James here. He’s going to be a good 3rd option for someone and he’ll provide tough D. Robinson will be a 5th option who makes transition plays and spot up shoots.

Dominique Jones or Willie Warren- Wille Warren will be better. He’s the better scorer, and even though I’m high on Jones, I like Warren’s NBA potential more.

Trevon Hughes or Scottie Reynolds- Reynolds will be the better player. Neither one are PG’s though so it’ll be tough for them to make a roster.

Jeremy Hazell or Manny Harris- I’m going to be crazy and say Hazell here. Something about him makkes me think he can be a poor mans Kevin Martin. Harris isn’t a good shooter and he can get cut off in his dribble drive because he’s weak and a mediocre ball-handler. He’s not quite a surefire NBA guy to me.

Matt Bouldin or Greivis Vasquez- Vazquez. He is a sleeper player. He’s improved his shot and decision making so much this year and those were his only 2 glaring holes. Bouldin is a solid college player, but he’s not NBA worthy.

Luke Harangody or Renardo Sidney- Sidney will be a much better NBA player. Way more talent on offense.

Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson- Patterson will be better. I’m not high on Davis. Patterson is more NBA-ready and has developed everything scouts have told him too when he’s tested the waters. He gets better every time. Davis just is more productive because he has more PT than last year.

Scotty Hopson or James Anderson- Tough one, but I’ll say Hopson. Anderson’s a good all-around scorer and he’s a good defenderand although he’s the better player now, he lacks Hopson’s athleticism and upside. I wouldn’t be surprised if Anderson is better in the NBA though.

Kalin Lucas or Kemba Walker- Lucas. He’s not as naturally or physically gifted, but he’s smarter and he knows how to lead better than Walker.

^ R U sure Sidney has way more talent on offense than Harangody? If that is the case than Sidney is going to be special.  Harangody has scored over 30 points a bunch of times throughout his college career

Just because he has scored 30 points in college doesn’t mean it will translate to the NBA. I very seriously doubt that Harangody is more than a hustle player in the NBA. Sidney was probably the most talented scorer regardless of position in the 09 class, so I think he’ll be a better offensive player in the NBA. And I think he’ll be by a pretty wide margin

I like this thread because you chose a lot of really good debates.

    DeMarcus Cousins or Greg Monroe
I really worry about Cousins’ attitude problems and weight issues. I don’t know that he’s anything more than an Eddy Curry clone. Great touch, a boatload of talent but a horrible attitude. And in the end, he really clogs the lane in a league where athleticism and quickness are valued more than ever.

    Damion James or Stanley Robinson
I’m not crazy about either of these two. James plays a very rigid game. Robinson may not have much more than his athleticism. But I get the feeling that Robinson can still improve, while James has essentially peaked.

    Luke Babbit or Kyle Singler
Babbit reminds me a lot of Adam Morrison in the worst ways. Singler has more range and plays better defense.

    Dominique Jones or Willie Warren
Warren has much more upside. He’s a significantly better ball-handler and athlete. Still, Jones is clearly a safer choice.

    Trevon Hughes or Scottie Reynolds
Hughes is too small to ever make it. He’s also got poor shot selection. Reynolds may be the country’s most improved player of anyone who was an established player last year.

    Jeremy Hazell or Manny Harris
Hazell is terrible. He hurts his college team with his chucker habits and has no other abilities. Harris is a well-rounded player who still needs to improve everything a little, but is clearly significantly better.

    Matt Bouldin or Greivis Vasquez
Vasquez is more skilled and has a greater fire burning under him. Bouldin has been a bit of a disappointment compared to what I thought he could be as a freshman.

    Luke Harangody or Renardo Sidney
On talent and potential, you’d have to take Sidney. But the guy terrifies me.

    Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson
I just love Patterson. The consumate power forward and the draft’s safest choice. I actually really like Davis, too. But Patterson is can’t miss.

    Scotty Hopson or James Anderson
Intruiging, but I believe Anderson is very NBA-ready and a significantly better shooter. I’m worried that he reminds me a lot of Derrick Byars.

    Kalin Lucas or Kemba Walker
I’ve never believed the hype on Walker. Lucas is a steady force and great leader with a tremendous understanding of the game.

    Trevon Hughes or Scottie Reynolds…Reynolds

    Jeremy Hazell or Manny Harris…Hazell

    Matt Bouldin or Greivis Vasquez…Vasquez

    Luke Harangody or Renardo Sidney…Harangody

Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson…Patterson…Davis is overrrated

    Scotty Hopson or James Anderson…Anderson

DeMarcus Cousins – more of an nba style player. likes to post up and play inside.
Damion James – kind of biased because i’m a texas fan. rebounds better and is more aggressive than robinson.
Kyle Singler – better all around. produces numbers against top competition in the acc. doesn’t mind banging.
Willie Warren – more potential than jones. needs to learn how to play team ball better though.
Scottie Reynolds – kid is a proven winner and can make plays in the crunch.
Manny Harris – way more athletic. rebounds way better and has the ability to get into the lane and free throw line.
Matt Bouldin – tough call here. i’ll go with bouldin because it seems he has better pg skills. i think both this guys fall into the marko jaric category: big pg’s who don’t have the foot speed to keep up with nba guards.
Luke Harangody – when you put up the numbers he has in probably the toughest conference in the ncaa, you know the kid can produce.
Patrick Patterson – nba ready body and has improved drastically from the perimeter.
James Anderson – both talented, long wingmen. i think anderson ability to drive the lane makes him slightly better.
Kalin Lucas – tough call. i take lucas because he is a better scorer.

DeMarcus Cousins or Greg MONROE- Cousins is an interesting prospect due to his great low post ability. But I choose Greg Monroe. If we input Greg in the same calipari system he would have similar numbers even better numbers due to the fact he can run up and down the court which bodes better for the NBA. Cousins will be solid a career 11and 6 guy if he gets the time.

Damion James or Stanley ROBINSON – Better upside, but tough choice here as well, both players will be solid off the bench energy players. Stanley reminds a little bit of Eddie Robinson, without that beatiful jump shot, though I think Eddie may have a tad bit more athleticism.

Luke BABBIT or Kyle Singler – Babbit, Singler is way to slow but could work his way into a solid spot up shooter to spread the floor. Ryan Anderson type player. I think that singler will have a better career if he goes to the right team or he will be out of the league in 4 years.

Dominique Jones or Willie WARREN – Much more athletic than dominique jones and in time will be as crafty. Willie Warren Flip murray Ben Gordon combination nice bench scorer. On the upside maybe a J. Terry type of player.

Trevon Hughes or Scottie REYNOLDS – The next Kevin ollie, Anthony carter type of player. Might be able to some work like an eddie house with improved jump shot. Weak PG draft will get these 2 in the mid to late second rounds.

Jeremy Hazell or Manny HARRIS – Lucky that there in this draft. These are solid players but if Bernard Robinson barely gets burn I dont know Manny harris will.

Matt Bouldin or Greivis VASQUEZ – Sasha Vujacic with handles and court vision

Luke Harangody or Renardo SIDNEY – Harangody will suprise I think he has the athleticsm to make an impact on the next level just got to go with SIDNEY upside. Potential antoine walker young.

Ed Davis or Patrick Patterson – PATTERSON Leon Powe with a jump shot. Solid contributor the cavs should look to him to fill that role.

Scotty Hopson or James Anderson – Anderson is more ready, but so was Morris almonds…SCOTTY HOPSON good upside, nice athletic ability. May be a Sonny weems type of player. If there are lot of retirements for the league you could see him start a couple of games

Kalin Lucas or Kemba Walker – WALKER I am from the metro area and I am sad to say we have lost are gaurd gusto. We no longer have marbury’s, williams, andersons. Kemba is the best of the pack but can some real NY gaurds please stand up. Honestly Lucas may be better but I am New yorker so i have to go with walker
