Williams wanted too much money and they hit an impass so Celtics didn’t give him one will let him hit restricted free agency.

Jordan Poole got a huge extension and more than All Star Andrew Wiggins. Did GSW do it to keep him happy after Draymond incident. Brandon Clarke’s extension is good value IMO.

The Celtics are far too experienced to over pay Grant Williams and probably think he was asking more than he might get as an RFA and they can just match that if they want.

DeAndre Hunter got his 4 year 95 million. Health and the Hawks depth have been holding him back a little.
Tyler Herro got his 4 year 130 million. Not bad.

@Hitster, just wondering how much better or worse is Brandon Clarke than Grant Williams to you? I personally think that’s a close one. I like Brandon Clarke too, but Memphis is getting pretty crowded in the frontcourt. I hope Memphis trades him away once JJJ is back.

I think Brandon is a better offensive player than Grant Williams although Grant had a good play off series last season. I think Clarke is good value for his deal. Given that Williams is younger, I’d have said he would have been worth a similar type deal to Clarke. But if he was holding out for more Boston may have decided to hold fire as they have added Griffin and will eventually have Gallinari fit to fight for minutes.
